I've been here several times over the past three or four years. Always very knowledgeable a very large choice of products in their store. They have classes on concealed carry they haven't. They have gun instruction if you'd like to learn how to shoot better they have a very nice gun range they have you can shoot a rifle there up to a 30-06 no larger than that no bigger caliber than that. They know exactly what you need. They have extensive knowledge most of them or former law-enforcement and they will fit you right up. They've always been very helpful. They have males and females there so whatever you need this place has it or they can direct you to where you can get it. Also, they have the concealed carry classes. I have been coming here off and on for a few years to shoot. It's always been super welcoming coming in. Me and my friend took the enhanced carry class on the 14th and it was awesome. Justin is such an awesome teacher. He is professional and stresses how important everything is! I came after coming off an over night shift and believe me when I say it's not boring! I have bought from the shop, shot at the range, and taken the CHCL-combo course at Arkansas Armory. The staff are exceptional - friendly, knowledgable, and eager to help (unlike some other shops I've used in the area). The shop is well-stocked with the things you need and not a lot of fluff only there to drive up your bill. And I appreciate that they have food and drinks available for when you're spending an extended period on the range. I also appreciate that your range fee pays for the day (if it's not too crowded) so that you can shoot, go run some errands, and come back to shoot again before heading home. The range is good. 25yds is fine for pistol application and for zero'ing most rifles. The computers worked well on the three lanes I've shot. The ventilation system is quiet enough not to be annoying, but hi-flow enough that you don't get choked out when all 6 lanes are in use (if you've been to a bad indoor range, you know what I mean). And I really appreciate having pistol and rifles days so you know what kind of "bang" to expect around you. AR Armory shines with their courses and instructors. Nathan and Anthony are amazing! Money well-spent for access to lifetimes of experience and wisdom! It's all the things you need, none of the stuff you don't, and a willingness to cater content (as appropriate) to the needs/questions of the class. Went here after a friend from work told me about this place. I've always been about small businesses especially when they try their best and work to their upmost ability to help others. I did the CCW this Saturday and the owner taught us very well and really brought to light information that a regular instructor wouldn't. They have multiple people who know what they're talking about and are willing to help. I even bought a holster and magazine upgrades from them as well. read more

So, I usually don't post reviews. I didn't even have a Yelp account, but I felt so strongly about this one that I went ahead and signed up. I've been considering getting my CCL for some time now. I'm a Veteran, a gun owner, and a strong second amendment advocate so it would make sense for me to go ahead and get it so I can carry legally. Time to get off the fence and make it happen... All that to preface: Central Arkansas is small enough to at least know of the more well-known shops, and the handful of ranges. When I decided to finally get my CCL, I thought it would make sense to do it through a shop that had a range on-site. There is another place across town that I've visited, but I just wasn't comfortable there. The guys working there weren't particularly receptive or helpful. So, I knew I wasn't going to go back there. Anyway, I'd passed by AA probably 100's (low hundreds) of times over the last several years, so I knew it was there, but I had never stopped in... until yesterday. I went in, talked to Anthony and Angie (and Nathan, the owner briefly). About a year ago I bought a pistol (a smaller brother to a bigger brother I've owned for a few years now, and HAD fired) that I want to carry, but hadn't gotten a chance to fire yet. Anthony signed me up for the class, had me watch the range safety video, and then I spent some time in the range before I took the 10-round qual for the CCL. That all went very, very well, and I was extremely happy. Then, I went back today, and took the CCL course. Nathan was the instructor, and he did a great job. He is extremely well informed, thorough, and passionate about guns (and gun law) which all together made for a very interesting course. Something else interesting happened too. There was an older (than me) gentleman in the class who has a younger granddaughter who is deathly afraid of guns. He wanted to bring her to the range, thinking that if he could spend some time with her, in a safe (and controlled) environment that this might make her more comfortable. So, he asked Nathan if he'd be willing to let him bring his granddaughter some time and have exclusive use of the range with no other shooters. Nathan's answer (in short) was, yes, we can probably work that out. Get with me after class. I thought that was pretty damn cool, so kudos to Nathan for being a class-act! So, the class is behind me, all the paperwork is submitted (yes, they even helped with that), and now I'm waiting for my license. As I can moving forward, I'll be signing up for every class I can get into. I've always thought, how many guns are enough? Well, the correct answer is, "just one more". After class, I couldn't leave without checking out all of the bang producing toys. I was looking in one of the cases, and I hear, "Is there something in there I can show you?" I turned around, and there was Brayden (I apologize if that's misspelled). He helped me at a previous store, and he actually recognized me. That was surprising. After catching up for a few minutes, he spent about 20 minutes showing me some specific bang bang toys and suggesting different configurations and improvements. I didn't buy another pistol today, but I will at some point because everyone needs "just one more" gun, and I'll buy it from Brayden. I know I've said a lot here, but I think it's all worthwhile to say. Thanks for sticking with me through this book. Nathan, I don't have a lot to spend, and I'll probably never be your biggest customer, but I will now be among your most loyal. Thank you for a great experience! read more

Wife and I took the CCW standard class this last weekend (7/27) . Nathan was a wonderful teacher and the class covered a bunch of topics I don't think get enough attention in class. All questions were answered, and the overall curriculum of the class is great. What I really enjoyed is it was "one stop shopping". Fingerprints, shooting qualification, and classroom were all handled in one day. We will be taking other classes there in the future. read more

Excellent range, excellent store, excellent service. I have used their range many times and will continue to visit if I can't get out to shoot outdoors. The staff here are all super friendly and helpful. Their rules aren't super strict like some ranges. They emphasize safety, but they allow you some freedom which makes the range experience 10x more enjoyable than a "no more than one shot per second" "no human silhouettes" fudd range. I've also bought one suppressor through them, and it's awesome to be able to go shoot it on my ARs while I wait for the Form 4 to come back. Nathan was extremely helpful in the paperwork process and made sure my Form 4 and trust were both squared away properly. He made my wife and I feel very at easy despite the complex application process. It's also awesome that they do everything in house so you don't have to run all over town to get photos and fingerprints. I wish I had more time, and money, to devote to going to Arkansas Armory. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful without making you feel like an idiot. The location is easy to get in and out of. Their range and gun rental is amazing! I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a better range, and it's indoor. If you've never shot a fun before they'll make you feel like a natural in no time. If you're looking to try a new gun they can guide you in the right direction, and all without talking down to you. My personal experiences have been nothing but great with the staff here. While I haven't purchased from them yet, I fully intend to for my next firearm. The range fee is for all day, they only ask that you let others have a chance to shoot if they're busy that day. Gun rental is reasonable, the catch is you have to shoot their bullets. The price on that can add up quickly, but is counteracted by the fact that you can swap out guns at no additional charge (one rental fee for one gun at a time over as many guns as you're willing to buy bullets for). Arkansas Armory also offers fun safety courses, concealed carry courses, and has rifle days once or twice a week. They're ruling on children with firearms is to defer to the parents, so long as there's no foolishness going on in the range room. For a family friendly, safe, polite, helpful, and fun experience at a gun range, this is the place to be! read more

I've made a couple trips to the "Arkansas Armory" recently while I've been building my rifle. They've opened up a counter just for AR-15 parts and components. The guy who works the AR-15 counter, Brandon, seem like a great guy and is quite helpful. When I had a problem with a new part, he benched the rifle and took a look at it with me at no charge. They also have the best price for all that good magpul stuff. It's been a very good experience. I will be visiting there more often now that they've put a bigger emphasis toward weapon builds and upgrades. read more

I attended a handguns 101 class on 10/22/2019 on my journey to getting a concealed carry permit. The class was very informative and the instructor was top notch. I was handicap and in a wheelchair at the time of the class and the accommodations that I received from the instructor was amazing my upmost appreciation goes out to him. Everyone that works there is very educated when it comes to firearms and have been so absolutely wonderful and so helpful in guiding me in the purchasing of my first handgun. I went in at 4:40 to purchase 2 pistols. Keep in mind they close at 6:00. When I entered I immediately was caught off guard because all their firearms were not in the glass display cases and not hanging on their display wall. I asked an employee where their guns were and that I was there for 2 types. I was informed they removed them because they close at 6:00, 1 hour and 20 minutes later from the current time. The employee went to the back and brought out their firearms to me. When a different employee saw what was happening, he asked they employee what she was doing. We both explained I wanted to see two firearms but he said they were not selling any firearms for the remaining time of their business hours. Needless to say I will not be going back as they lost 2 firearms sales that day and many more in the future. read more

I took the conceal carry class at Arkansas Armory. The training was conducted in a very professional manner by an instructor who was retired military and could answer in detail any gun or ammo related question thrown at him. As a complete gun novice I was never made to feel uncomfortable even though it was obvious I was not completely adept with the weapon I was using. We went straight from the classroom to the shooting range located in the same building which was very convenient. I have returned to their shooting range multiple times to practice my skills and make myself a safer gun user. I have always been treated in a friendly, helpful manner by all the staff. The store is clean and orderly. Safety is paramount. Everything is well-run. I've been to a few other places and there is just no comparison. You can tell they take pride in their operation and are serious about what they're doing. My family has made purchases there, taken classes there and shot on their range (not often enough!) and every experience has been positive. I can't recommend them highly enough. Small, poor sound attenuation. Went to fire a .22 pistol but there were others in this tiny space firing high-powered rifles! (Sight in at 25 yards??) We were wearing double hearing protection but didn't fire a round because of the loud sound and reverberation. The manager charged us the $25 daily fee and was unsympathetic. The salesclerk who had signed us up was surprised our 2-minute visit was not comp'ed. So were we. Another customer who was pistol shopping left after he heard this situation and told us he had heard enough. Place won't last a year. read more
