I've been to Edgewater many, many times. I've walked past Arepas House many, many times. I have not had Arepas House many, many times. But today I did. Have you ever been served a "sandwich" and thought, "damn, that's huge, there's no way I'm finishing it"? Have you ever paid for a sandwich and thought "this better be worth it"? It is worth it. It was very worth it and I was very tempted to finish it. Instead I saved a small piece for my girlfriend so she could understand why I bought it and why I sacrificed half a hole on my belt. I found the Arepas House food truck at City Park Jazz last night....YAY!! What A Find! I chose the truck because I had never had anything on their cool munu before and had never heard of an Arepas. I was greeted at the window with a huge smile from Jorge. I stepped up on the foot stool and ordered the MIX, Jorge says, "you should Definitely order the Pabellon!" So Great!! I love that he pretty much chose for me for my first Venezuelan food experience at his truck. It Was AWESOME! The presentation was incredible and everyone around my blanket at the park wanted to know what I had found. It was the most interesting and delicious food I have had in a Very long time. I've been a overtired cook, the peppy server and the stressed general manager; both from vending to restaurant - and WOW! Simple, fresh, delicious and different. The ENTIRE experience! I'm floored. Breathable customer service, the perfectly sized meal, every bite something new, fast, affordable, and If I wasn't so full I would be going back for seconds. I would hands down venture here again. For reference, I got the Pabellon (packed with meat), Yucca Fries (healthy and tasty; don't miss out!), and some godly good passion fruit tea drink (no added sugar, but still full of flavor). I do this review with heavy heart as I am Venezuelan myself. Their slogan is "Have you ever been to Venezuela?now you can say you can". Unfortunately this could not be farther from the truth. They do some things right in this restaurant and some things very wrong. First off the customer service is terrible and they are very careless. I ordered two cheese arepas (which came with provolone, yuck) real Venezuelan cheese arepas come with either shredded Venezuelan cheese, queso de mano, guayanes, or queso paisa. I asked if i could replace it for the cheese on the cachapa which is the queso paisa and i was told i could not. The guy that works there called the owner to see if they could accommodate and he said no to just give me a refund so i can go away. What a joke! The passion fruit juice is nothing more than a watered down version of a store bought passion fruit. Their Queen arepa that is supposed to have pulled chicken had a bunch of fat and nerves in the meat. Overall a complete disappointment, especially given that it is not a cheap place to eat. If you are looking for a real taste of Venezuela i encourage you to skip on this place and seek another. I spent over $100 for most of it to be thrown away. read more

Great spot for arepas in a fun food hall

Found this gem at the DTC eats food truck event and was instantly drawn in. Looking at their menu, I was captivated by all the Latin flavors and was really looking forward to the pernil, llanera, or molida so I got in line. After standing there for about 10 minutes, I realized they were out of several menu items, which coincidentally included everything I was considering ordering. Since I had already wasted 10 min of my lunch break standing in line, I decided to try the Patacon. I was not disappointed, it was delicious (and huge). All the flavors went together so well but the shredded chicken was dry and tough in some bites. The only reason this place doesn't get a 5 star rating is that they were out of so many menu items at 11:30 am on the day of an event. Otherwise, this was a great find. read more

Visited Denver a couple of weeks ago, and got a chance to visit the South Pearl Farmer's Market. Among a lot of great places to choose from to eat, We settled on Arepas. This place was absolutely amazing! Now one thing to note, these arepas are not cheap, but are super filling and extremely high quality. My kids had the black beans arepas, and my wife and i got one of the combos with shredded chicken and beef. Definitely one of our favorite spots in all of Colorado. South Pearl Farmer's was also really fun, but our memories of Arepas House food was definitely a highlight! read more

My husband ordered from their truck last night at New Terrain, and I said something about how it would be nice if they could add a fried plantain to the Domino. Tonight we went to Edgewater, and I ordered the Domino. It came with a fried plantain in it!!! Not sure if the owner overheard me yesterday and recognized me even in a mask today or whether he is a mind reader, but it was DELICIOUS!! This is a hard review to write as the food is actually good and service was good but they don't use authentic Venezuelan cheese, they use what seems like mozzarella. Although the food is good it's not what they advertise. If they used authentic cheese they would be an easy 4 maybe 5 stars. read more

Found this place at the south pearl farmers market. Their arepas are so good. I tried the Mix and it is full of flavor. Shredded chicken, shredded beef, cheese, avocado and fried plantain. So so good. The best thing I've ever had from a food truck. I need to find out where else they go because I would love to eat this more than once a week. read more

This is the best place to eat Arepas, everything in their menu is so good, and they have really good customer service, you have to try it.

I thought Arepas house was ok. I enjoyed the yuca fries but the sauce was Ketchup and Mayonnaise, is that from Venezuela? The meat was pretty good but there wasn't much of it. The bread seemed a little stale, maybe it was an off day? I came to the restaurant at 12:30 or so, maybe better on the truck? I think it is overpriced for the portion size, don't be so skimpy on the meat. read more
