I'm so happy I found this little coffee and dessert shop. It's filled with lots of decadent and sinfully good sweet treats. Too many too choose from and lots of things filled with dulce de leche. The location is difficult to find, unless you happen to see it off beltline close to the soup and salad. Behind several restaurants and buildings. I've driven by it actually thinking they were closed. The closing time is not posted and the open sign is never on. So yesterday I took on the challenge to actually open the door and see if indeed they were in business. To my surprise, they were. Thankfully so. Beware! Many of the deserts have labels but they aren't in English. The employee was super sweet to help me make a few decisions and told me what was in the baked goods. Prices are super reasonable compared to a Starbucks and their desserts. There are plenty of comfy chairs to sit and relax while chatting with friends. They also sell bags of coffee too. I recently got into eating empanadas after a trip to Argentina this past year and the empanadas from Argentina Bakery did not disappoint. They taste as delicious as they smell! I purchased 1 dozen + 1/2 dozen assorted empanadas for a team breakfast at work and they were a hit! Everyone enjoyed the empanadas even those who had never tried one before. I got quite an assortment of empanadas and appreciated the employee who helped label the boxes so that we could easily identify what empanada we were picking out of the box. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This place blew me away. Primarily because I did not expect such goodness! I am delighted to know that Irving has a place filled with so much culture and so much goodness. This is one thing that has always disturbed me about Irving. I had yet to discover a real coffeehouse (other than Starbucks) with a real coffeehouse feel. I stumbled upon a gem with this one! I was highly impressed with pretty much every aspect of my visit. I was a little worried with it being in a strip mall that doesn't have much to offer, but as soon as I walked in, those concerns became null and void. As soon as you walk in, you will feel 100% different than you did when you pulled into the strip mall. I am giving 5 stars because of the culture and goodness this place brings to Irving, which is in desperate need. Especially on the side of town in which it is located. We were just passing by, so we got our desserts to go. I can't wait to go back, dine in and have some good espresso whilst I read. Seems like a great place to do so. We ordered the strawberry and chocolate masitas and they were absolutely amazing. The texture and flavor were similar to tres leches cake, which is a fave of mine, so I was won over by that, alone. We also ordered the caramel-filled lenguas and they were perfectly light and perfectly flaky. Another winner with those. We also tried a few other dessert variations and they were also delicious. Was out and about and decided to give this place a try. The decor of this place is really nice and quaint enough for about twenty people. I really liked the desert presentation, lots of color. We ordered a chocolate caramel cookie, cheese cake and tres leche with strawberry cream filling. The cheese cake wasn't rich and didn't really have much of a cheese cake flavor. The tres leche was wet like I like it but the cake was kind of hard and the strawberry didn't really come through. The cookie was ok just a little too hard. read more

Cakes and small bite treats galore. It was so hard to decide, but we landed on a caramel cake. It seemed to me to be Dulce de Leche-ish. It was so moist and delicious. Argentina bakery is so fantastic! You really must try it several times order to appreciate how wonderful the food is. I first tried them when I got a variety of traditional Argentinian cookies for a party. Since then, we have been several times and the food is always delicious and special. Empanadas, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, every bite makes you glad you came and want to return. Most recently, I purchased a cake from the case for a last minute birthday party, and the next week I ordered cupcakes for my daughter's birthday party. I asked for rainbow colored frosting on the cupcakes and asked them to make whatever they wanted to, as I know their food is always just as beautiful as it is delicious. What a cute little bakery! But the outside is pretty much the best part about the bakery. I didn't enjoy my food at all. I got a slice of the chocolate cake with the strawberry thing on top of it. It looked really good from the case, but once I bit into it, my preconceptions were dashed. Instead of a light tasting, fluffy, cake it had the taste of plastic and was pretty heavy (both weight wise and in my stomach). The cake was definitely chocolate but I wonder how long they had it in their display before I ordered it. Or maybe it was wrapped with some nasty nonstick paper before being put on the display case. Either way the taste was affected by the smell. The smell can only be described as plastic so it was pretty bad. The atmosphere was pretty good though. Lots of tables inside and outside, a few electric outlets?, and people just going about their daily lives. I'll definitely be back, and hopefully my experience will be better. read more

Searching for a basic chocolate cake at night. I open my app to head out for an endeavor. Mind you this is mid-cities and not my side town. So I'm a stranger in foreign lands lol. After driving for couple of minutes I arrive to this local bakery. First thing I noticed was the ethnicity which was Hispanic (nothing wrong with that. Just pointed it out). The vibe as I got in was very pleasant, not overwhelming or loud. Although the line was pretty extensive so I assume the place is popular. The menu and pastries were very accessible to the eye right when I walked in. Looking forward to finally find a chocolate cake didn't find it. I guess was not my night, however. I left with couple of things to try and make my review. I had an assortment of goodies: conitos, manoplas, macaroons and a tres leches. It was ok but nothing that could satisfied my crave. The only independent coffee shop in Irving, and the longest-lived for good reasons! I love all of the pastries that have their house-made dulce de leche, especially the coconut tart. Around breakfast, you need to get some tortitas if they still have them; they're like croissant-roll hybrids, and super cheap 65 cents a pop. The empanadas here are super flaky and make a good snack or light breakfast. I will admit that I don't love all of their desserts and pastries, but it's okay. They serve an important role in Irving and I've gotten so much studying done here over the years! read more

I order a cake for my 13 year old son two weeks in advance, I have to mention that my friends and I go there very often to have breakfast ( really great place all together), long story short, the cake was perfect when I picked up in the morning as agreed( they called at 7:30am to ask me if I remembered what kind of cake was it, flavor etc., I guessed they forgot even tho we had a receipt) when straight home (30 minutes drive) and put the cake on my fridge, at 5:30pm when we got the cake out, it was all bursted( I will supply pics so y'all can see), everybody laughed at me and the cake( WTF!)... I called the bakery and sent pics of the cake, I guy there that answered the phone gave all the excuses he could and at the end toll me to screwed my self and hung the phone on me...big disappointment for a place that I enjoy so much, if it was a mistake in the way they made the cake fine!, just tell me that you'll make another one or gime me a refund, but just don't tell me to screw my self and hung the phone on me like I'm an idiot, I paid &100.00 for a custom order cake...not $25 at Walmart...don't know who answered the phone but I think the owner is a lady that I've seen many times I go there, hope she sees this and make right for my son, my family and me... I'm not expecting anything for free I just expect what right is right... This place was busy Sunday afternoon. Lots of sweet choices. We decided on the cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert after lunch. The treats were good and hit the spot but were not memorable. We weren't blown away for the price we paid. The portions were generous and tall. The cheesecake was rather plain and just ok. I went to this bakery today for an afternoon coffee & snack. It's a nice place to catch up with a friend or to have a informal date. I ordered a Mayan Mocha Latte and a matito (dulce de leche pastry). My fiancé got a beef empanada, ham & cheese empanada and a regular black coffee. The Mayan Mocha was delicious but very sugary. It's a lot like hot chocolate. That paired with the matito was a bit too much sugar/syrup for my liking. The empanadas were good, but I've definitely had better. The crust if buttery and flaky but the filling could use a bit more seasoning. I'd recommend checking out this place. I don't know if it's a regular (at least for me). read more

One of my favorite things to do over a decade ago when half price books was still next door was to buy a book and bring it here to read in the comfy chairs with espresso and peligrino.
