I am disappointed regarding my scheduled 9:15 AM appointment with Dr. Mac today…read more As a long time patient (over 15yrs) and as part of my custom, I arrived at 8:50 AM, approximately 25 minutes early for my appointment with Dr. Mac, only to find new staff manning the front desk. Both individuals were on the phone and failed to acknowledge my presence. At approximately 9:07 AM, I was finally checked in, paid my copay, and was asked to sit in the waiting room. Shortly after, a nurse escorted me to the exam room, mentioning she was temporarily assisting Dr. Mac today. She took my weight and blood pressure. By then it was 9:15 AM (my actual appt time). I should also mention that I have only seen Dr. Mac twice before today's appointment. Prior to that Dr. Jacobson was my health provider and prior to him was PA Sharon Lamkin and prior to her, Dr. Lerman. So I have been very happy with all of them in that they were all very caring, thorough and on time for all my appointments. At 9:50 AM--after waiting 35 minutes in the exam room--the nurse returned to inform me that Dr. Mac was delayed and would see me in about "5 to 7 minutes." At 10:15 AM, a full hour after my scheduled appointment time, I still had not seen the doctor. I walked out to the nursing station and approached the nurse, who informed me that Dr. Mac was on a telehealth call and she was unsure when he would finish. At that point, after waiting an hour past my appointment time, I decided to leave. I requested that my medical file be transferred back to Dr. Lerman, who was my original physician some 15 years ago. I was directed to the front desk to reschedule with Dr. Lerman, which I did. Between an hour-long wait without seeing a provider, front-desk staff who appeared disinterested, broken facility equipment (such as the elevator where an employee was recently hurt), and high staff turnover, the quality of service at this practice has visibly declined. As a long-standing patient, this experience was completely unacceptable and makes me question whether I should seek care elsewhere moving forward.
