I have a little bit of anxiety going to a new workout class due to being worried about not being able to keep up or not being able to do the moves but Peter was great. When I checked in Peter had asked me if it was my first time and so I mentioned it was. During the session Peter was attentive but not in a way that was overbearing. He made sure to help me but not make be feel embarrassed at all and I really appreciated it. The place itself is very well kept. They provide locks for the locker and the bathroom is well kept and equipped with everything you need. I would definitely recommend for people to come here, especially if you are more like me and are nervous to try new workout classes.

I usually do hot vinyasa flow classes and threw myself into something different this time, with a 90-min Bikram class led by Mia. Lots of breath work in the asanas and varations on poses from backbends (camel rather than wheel) and a nice vibe in the class. Nice little locker room and awesome pics of yogis doing complicated and gorgeous poses over the years the studio has been around. A+ for anyone in the area.

I am officially addicted. A friend invited me to join them at YogaSix and shared a free class but…read moresadly I had to cancel last minute so it took me a little while to finally get back and check out a YogaSix class. I'm so grateful to the friend that persisted and invited me again. This specific YogaSix has a wonderful owner who is so lovely and welcoming. The studio is located on the 5th floor of a building that is almost tucked away on 17th street. It can be easy to miss, and if you arrive early in the morning then the front door may be locked. Use the keypad to find YogaSix in the directory and call them, then they'll buzz you up. I've tried every class offering and have also done the monthly Sound Bath, which was lovely. The instructors are great and offer plenty of modifications and options for all levels. The hot room is definitely something to get used to but it is personally my favorite part. Actually... the cold eucalyptus towel after the workout is my favorite part but the warm room is #2. If you are looking for hot yoga, are visiting town and need to get a class in, or if you are just interested in trying something new then YogaSix is for you!

If you're looking for a good stretch, check out Justine's Monday night warm yoga class for runners and cyclists. Justine is one of the founders of Philly Yoga Factory, and takes recommendations for focus areas (i.e. hips, shoulders, back) so that you can get the most of your practice. The music she plays is great too! There's also more power yoga like classes; Schuykill Flow on Saturday mornings is a great class for a workout. A much more affordable option that many of the pricey studios in the area, Philly Yoga Factory offers a wide variety of classes with friendly and helpful teachers. Try it out because it's pay what you wish!

Note: Thank you to 'ML' who pointed out roughly a year ago that I had reviewed the wrong studio…read more This should fix it. Three stars is a bit generous, but two seemed a bit harsh. Not my favorite studio in the city, that's for sure. First of all, just finding it is a challenge. It's squeezed in between the Apple Store and another retail store. Once you do, the studio itself is fine, I just didn't love the class I took. The first 15 minutes were spent doing these awkward modified crunches which didn't exactly scream vinyasa. There was no real flow to the rest of the class, but to be fair we did do some warrior and side-plank poses I guess. Class lasted 75 minutes for maybe 50-55 minutes worth of actual yoga (especially annoying for a Friday evening class). When I was told that my savasana was wrong, I was annoyed. Then I realized that there are only two or three teachers at the center city location, and figured I should go back to my old studio. That, and they just "updated" their website...it's horrible. So, if this is a tl;dr for you, it's adequate, just not my favorite personally.
