A few months ago, my husband was with me at the Creekside location and was standing outside the dressing rooms holding my purse. One of the women there rudely asked him what he was doing there. He was nicely dressed and neatly groomed and it embarrassed him. He politely told her that he was waiting for me while I was trying on clothes. She didn't bother to apologize. It wasn't rocket science, he was holding a purse in a clothing store waiting for his wife. He didn't tell me this until we were home, which is probably a good thing. I called the district manager about it, and apparently he didn't find it necessary to fire this rude woman because she is still there. I avoided this store for quite a while but I was in the area and went back a few days ago because it was the first day of their big sale. Nothing there has changed. The women there do not greet you when you walk in, my shoulder was about to break before anyone offered me a dressing room and when I got to the checkout, one of the women made it very clear that she was much too busy to help me so she sent me to a woman named Nancy. Nancy was impatient and unfriendly and rude. I was trying to look at the tags and she very bluntly told me that she would take care of it. She charged me too much for one of the blouses, but I'm not going back there to show her the error. I was trying to talk to her, but I couldn't hear her because the rude lady who told me she was too busy to help me was yelling numbers and information to another woman across the store. Really? This couldn't wait? The Foothill store wraps your purchases neatly in tissue paper and asks if you would like boxes for any of the garments. Nancy shoved my garments in a bag like they do at Walmart. I have two sisters who live close to that Chico's and have had similar experiences and now drive to the Foothill store. I would suggest that the Creekside ladies learn some manners and customer service from Susan, Linda, and the other ladies at the Foothill store.

Yesterday, my wife and I were in the area looking for some local goodies as Christmas presents and made our way into Hip & Humble. The outside is very inviting-I love the color of the house-turned-retail building. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Mabe, the beautiful resident dog. She happily sniffed us, let us pet her and then she went back to her duties of wandering the store. Any place that has a dog is A-OK in my book! Each item in the shop appears to have been carefully curated to be here. Nothing seems out of place or odd. I love every item and how cohesive everything feels. Up front, you'll find an assortment of knick-knacks, home goods, soaps & lotions, etc. Toward the back is a room full of unique women's clothing and accessories. I was visiting SLC and wanted to get my mom her first LV bag for her 70th bday. Both these ladies were very helpful in pulling out multiple bags and walking her through the answers to her many questions. Kelli especially went above and beyond, even texting me on her day off to be sure I received my bag (which she had overnighted from a different store just to ensure it would get to us in time). We went in today to get the bag hot stamped and she made sure we got everything we needed before we left. Had such a fantastic experience with Kelli and Ary that I plan to be back to this store to buy any other LV bags in the future.

We were immediately greeted by a cheerful employee and when we said we were looking for shorts, she didn't skip a beat and asked "men's or women's sizes?" I loved that she didn't assume anytime. My wife wears men's pants and shorts almost exclusively and hates when people assume otherwise. It wasn't long before we had a few pair that my wife wanted to try on. We were hesitant, not knowing if dressing rooms were open yet-you know, Covid and all. Another employee noticed our hesitation and invited us to pick any room and go ahead and try them on. We ended up leaving with a couple pair of perfectly fitting Levi's. (I can call them that because they actually are Levi brand.) The price was a little steep-a little over 100 dollars for two pair. But from what I know about the brand, they should last awhile.

City Creek is no different, and on my most recent visit one girl in particular (whose name I unfortunately neglected to ask) was especially great, fetching various sizes and articles of clothing for me, and offering tips to ensure the best fit on some jeans. And that's what Madewell is really all about. All their clothing is fab: classic, mostly simple, comfortable, and flattering, but their denim is about as close as you can get to the Holy Grail of jeans. They fit so perfectly and are made so well (ha!). Seriously, though. It's dreamy as can be. They also offer a few bath and body products, candles, cards, accessories, and simple, modern jewelry. It's worth joining their (free) rewards program for various special sales and gifts. I especially like this location for it's size and generous selection. If you've never been to Madewell this is an excellent introduction to the brand, and if you are already a fan this will likely be your favorite store.
