I was glad because there was a white dress I wanted to buy. I walked in, the saleslady who was sitting on the bench outside RAN after me. I looked around, saw a few pieces then I ask her for MY size. Her reply was: 1....thousand...2hundred... [ VERY SLOWLY] I wanted to introduce her face to my palm. But I contained myself. I'm NEVER going back there, I go downtown instead. People think there's no racism in Canada! She thought because I'm non-white; I couldn't afford it. We'll see how long this place will stay open as many stores are closing in the area.!

It's a loft-like space with lots of natural light and really well decorated. One thing that set it apart immediately, is it doesn't have that thrift store smell. They're true to their word that they're only selecting good quality items. Sure, some of the items are perhaps a bit plain, but you don't have to take too long to find a few things you'll like. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. I found out at the counter that this is actually a franchise as part of a fairly large chain (which I hadn't previously heard of). Regardless, they're a very unique and welcome edition to the city.

As I entered I was greeted by a very friendly lady asking if I needed help or was looking for anything in particular. I told her I was just browsing so she backed off. As I walked through the store I saw all kinds of sparkly accessories, dresses, shoes, purses and cute outfits. All displays were put together perfectly by colour and many included shoe combinations to go with the outfit. As I wandered about and fell in love with a pair of shoes the sales lady appeared. She explained that their speciality is putting outfits together for people or accessorizing and outfit that someone brings into the store. (she must have noticed the confused look on my face) Perfect!!! I am always in a rush and I am not so good at putting things together so, I picked up the shoes and then......... I asked what would go with the shoes. Yes, I know it was kinda like shopping backwards.... picking shoes first then the outfit. Not bad for someone who was just browsing. Next thing I knew, I ended up purchasing a lovely summer dress and a hand bag to go with the dress and some bling bling bracelets. But simliar to other Winners locations (where we were prior to coming here). The only thing I wasn't pleased about was the service at the cash tonight. There was one girl cleaning up (who could have helped with the long line up) and one person at cash. Although he was friendly, he kept flirting/chatting with her and it was clearly distracting him from his job! One of my pet peeves and so unprofessional. He also forgot to remove my security tag, I guess because he wasn't focused. They close at 7pm on Saturdays.

This location is a good size and similar to most of the other Winners locations…read more The selection of items at this location is usually pretty good, you can usually find a phone charger in the electronics section which is what I seem to always end up at Winners for, I may have a phone charger problem, lol You will also find empty boxes as well from shoplifters so make sure the actual product is in the box before paying for an empty box. The service is always slow and never enough cashiers open, which makes me sometimes just leave my items behind as I don't need them that bad. You need time and patience when shopping here.

The person that assisted us was just great - she knew the product lines inside out and had great suggestions for us both. So professional, easy to talk to and just awesome all the way around. I don't think we would have spent nearly that amount of time in the store if we didn't get such great service. My daughter is 36 and I'm 60+, and we both bought clothing from your store. Wilfred is a stand-alone shop from Aritzia house brand Wilfred (slightly more sophisticated big…read moresister of Talula and TNA). I find this store much quieter and easier to navigate than the large Aritzia store 1 level below, so if you are only interested in Wilfred and want to avoid the teenie-boppers, I would recommend just coming to this store. They carry nice, well-made (albeit pricey) pieces that are great for work or going out. Think silk crepe blazers, wool coats, feminine blouses, and day-to-night dresses. They tend to stick to classic shapes and bring back similar styles season after season in updated colours or fabrics. Not terribly exciting, but if you find something that works for you, it's nice that you can find so many variations. The staff are okay -- less harried than the Aritzia staff. Changerooms have no mirrors inside (-1 star), but at least you don't have to lock up your purse like they make you do at Aritzia. I like that you get a free reusable shopping bag (a thin cotton tote) with each purchase, instead of a paper bag. Sales are not very impressive, but if you go at the right time you can find some items marked down by 25-50%. Sale items are final sales - no exchanges or refunds.
