I love this store! I started making soap, candles, and skin care products five years and would have to order from amazon which was pricey and the quality was iffy. But I was thrilled when I discovered this shop! They have a wide variety of supplies that are high quality and reasonably priced. Also, the staff have always been helpful and polite. I don't live close by anymore but I always come to this store to stock up when I'm in town. Also, I see they have expanded their classes now! So wonderful to see. read more

I used to utilize A.S.S. for a few years for some miscellaneous ingredients that I use for my small business, but over the last few years I've been able to find the same ingredients on Amazon Prime or Wholesale Suppliers Plus for much cheaper. Since the customer service was Always less than awesome here, I've been happy to avoid Arizona soap supply for quite a while. Unfortunately I needed an ingredient that I had forgotten in my last order with Wholesale Suppliers Plus & I felt like I didn't have time to wait for to be shipped, so I went back to A.S.S., reluctantly. Boy was that a mistake! I arrived 30 minutes before they closed (they have bankers hours & aren't open on the weekends, so I rushed over from DTPHX) & was gathering my basket of ingredients I needed when my boyfriend & I was approached by one of their employees (random dude in a cowboy hat) saying we needed to "wrap it up, we are closing", & I looked at my watch & it was still 25 minutes until they closed. I said "oh are you closing early?" & he said "no, but I need you to hurry up" while trying to usher us out the door. So I sat my half filled basket down & said "ok, I guess we will leave now then" to his response "that's what I thought!" while laughing! Needless to say, I ordered my needed last minute supplies from Amazon while in the parking lot of A.S.S., in disbelief that I was treated so rudely. I have spent thousands here in the past, but that was enough for me to absolutely NEVER come back, at any costs. I'll glad wait an extra day or so to avoid this awful place with its awful customer service. Then I read the reviews from others experiences & it is absolutely astounding that the owner, Norman trolls each negative review instead of accepting some constructive criticism. Came in for the first time today, and enjoyed being able to smell all the fragrances! I bought some soaping oils, and I'm hoping they are fresh, because the pumpkin seed oil I also purchased already had a slight rancid oil smell. Best to order online from somewhere with more natural choices. Usually when people want to make their own soap they are looking for something natural. The packaging they sell, overpriced. Just order on Amazon. I shopped here once so I wouldn't expect the unhelpful store clerks to recognize me per the owners' inappropriate response to my review. I really was looking forward to coming here this weekend until I read the reviews. I'm not going to argue whether some of the one star reviews are deserved or not because I've worked in customer service long enough to know people are more likely to complain than say something nice. However in seeing the owner's responses to these negative reviews tells me everything I need to know. I don't care about the owner's politics but I do care how he treats his customers, potential customers, and past customers. But when you insult and belittle people because they don't leave a shining review and you can't take a little criticism, then you really shouldn't be in business anyway. Over the last several years, I have been fortunate enought to have participated in the growth of Soap Making in Arizona. And, as the community grew so did AZ Soap Supply. Starting out with a small unit in a strip mall to their current location. If they don't have they will get it if they can't it isn't gettable. From products and supplies to classes and community building. I made my first CP batch in 94 and waited years for someone to invest in soap making in AZ. Great little mom and pop shop. No frills, good prices and great prices. Customer service is great! And if you're in a hurry, wait to stop by, cause crafters and established customers chit chat and that is just the way of it. In my experiences in the store, both employees and customers alike have always been very helpful and informative. If I can't find something or need something - they're quick to help or point me in the right direction. They keep their overhead down by being in a warehouse/office environment and pass along the savings in breaking down their bulk oils and passing the savings on to us. SCORE! read more

Hidden gem!!! ANYONE who makes skincare or hair care stuff, bath bombs, soap, candles, or uses essential or fragrance oils should buy it here, even if you're just a hobbyist like me. Savings are at least 50% cheaper than online retailers/wholesalers and craft stores and they offer most everything in both small quantities, bulk & wholesale. My wife and I signed up for the soap making class here. Dealt with the owner and the instructor and was impressed with customer service, pricing, variety of stock, knowledge and flexibility. Such a great little shop! Soap is such an experiential thing. It's good to have a brick and mortar shop to go to to actually smell the fragrances and handle the materials to make sure that it will work for what you want. AZ Soap Supply has fair prices and has been very responsive to out of town customers. I ordered in the morning, emailed and told them I needed my order ASAP because I was leaving town the next day, and they had my stuff ready by 10AM. The store has fun supplies for soap-makers, as well as unique molds that I have not seen online. This place is worth the trip and I'm so happy to have a soap supplier in Arizona. :) read more

I have shopped here for months and have always had a positive experience. Everyone has been helpful and offered suggestions when asked. I will say that I am upset at the owner's response to another yelp review. To say that you laughed at a customer is not good business practice. I also don't know why you mentioned defunding the police as she was stating her experience in your store. For those reasons, I am rethinking shopping here. While my experience has been great, it doesn't mean it will be that way for everyone. I know you can't please everybody but your response left me appalled. read more

This place literally has everything I need to create. But the customer service is HORRIBLE, which is why I'll never go back. The owner is very nice but it's her employees that are the problem. I've had 2 incidents happen recently. The first incident: I was purchasing a 20 pack of 4 oz plastic bottles for $5. The female cashier states that the tops don't match the size of the bottles, so she takes the bottles out of the sealed plastic bag to make sure they fit. When she realizes that they do in fact fit she then states that those same plastic bottles aren't the correct size. She states they "look" like they're 2 oz bottles and they "shouldn't" be on sale for $5. She calls the owner over and says what she believes to be wrong. The owner states that they are indeed the correct size and are on sale. I felt as though she was insinuating that I was stealing their products. Because she says to me "I just didn't want the inventory to be messed up". But why would it be messed up if you're the ones that put it on the floor to be sold? Weird but okay. The second incident: I guess I was "taking too long to purchase" so the male employee comes down the aisle and starts pretending to fix things on the shelves but he's watching me. When I catch him staring he asks if I need any help. I said "No". He then goes to the next aisle and stands directly in front of me and continues to pretend to fix more things on the shelf, just so he can watch me. I start to feel uncomfortable now. I begin rushing to get everything I need just so I can leave the store. I go to the register but he's chatting with another customer. Which was a personal conversation that didn't have anything to do with the products sold in the store. He sees me waiting for him but continues to talk to her. I wait for about 3 1/2 mins, which is a long time especially when the cashier knows you're there waiting for them. He finally comes and has the nerve to ask me if I'm ready. I say "mhmm hmm" and I guess he didn't hear me so he started staring at me strangely which made me feel even more uncomfortable. So I just said "yes". He then asks if I have an account, I said "no". Then he asks "what's your name for the account"? But I didn't want an account. I just wanted to purchase my items. I'm not sure why he automatically tried to force me into getting one. After being watched, followed, waiting an extensive amount of time to be rang up and not given the option to create an account if I wanted to do so, I decided to leave with nothing. I had over $50 worth of items that I just left there. I am black if it's important to you. They probably only treat you with respect if you look like them. It's such a shame. This place is a gem. But I wouldn't dare put anymore money into a company that doesn't respect the customers. read more

This company treated us like garbage. We signed up our two girls for a soap making class. When we got there, the store was closed. We looked on their website and Facebook and neither of them had an updated their location. A man finally asked someone and we went to the right location. Once mwe showed up, it was all adults and they didn't specify that. They didn't even apologize and they were extremely rude. They obviously weren't even moved in yet and the lady came out and told us that we were "disrupting their class". We were arguing with them about getting are money back and they were having trouble with the system. They were VERY impatient and it was absolutely ridiculous. They refused to apologize and were quite immature about it. I do NOT recommend this place. Side note, their other shop closed immediately because they were dealing with and extremely dangerous chemicals. Dangerous AND rude. This was Atrocious. read more
