Roof estimate. Estimate was done in a timely matter and communication was great. Follow up was great as well.

Scott Lund-Ussery will use Coersion and predatory tactics to secure the job prematurely. Be very leary allowing him into your life. He is not a upstanding kind person. My realtor Carrie Williams referred him to me because he is her friend. I trusted her words. He called me and gave me a quote. I said ok that sounds good do you have 0% in house financing. He said no. I said OK well I'll have to look into getting 0% financing but in the meantime send me over a proposal by email so then this was on Friday, June 12 then on Monday morning at 8 AM I text him saying I have to hold off on the roofing project until late next week. He did not respond to my text message at all, he said he did not get the text message and that I sent it to the wrong number but then he finally sends me the the the proposal using the same number that he says I sent my message to the wrong phone number and it did read delivered, and he did call my phone like a quick butt dial so I know he seen my text message. He lied. Then my neighbor calls me and tells me I have a bunch of roofing material on my roof. I'm like you've got to be kidding me I didn't even secure financing yet. I call Scott and say look why is roofing material on my roof when I don't even have a contract and/or a proposal or any kind of financing secured yet? This is when he bullied me. He says, because you gave the verbal agreement. This is all we need here inArizona and if you back out it will cost you $500 for me to come pick up the materials. This is where the coercion/ predatory tactics to secure the job came in. So dummy me falls for it. I let him do the job! Huge mistake!! So they finish the job on June 19. I live in Michigan. I asked him if he would get back on the roof and make a video. He said no I'm not getting back on the roof you should've asked for the video beforehand while we were up there. I waited for a video. It did not come. I need to see the workmanship of the roof before I hand over the funds to him. This is very understandable. So,I ask a reputable license roofer to go over there and check out the integrity and workmanship of Scott's work and he found many things that were not of good workmanship. He even found the exact soft spots that were listed in an independent inspection report; because I'm trying to sell the home and there was a potential buyer so the inspector she hired wrote in the report that their are soft spots on the roof and need to be addressed so what Scott and his crew did was use felt as the underlayment and not synthetic, which synthetic is preferable material to use, he did not give me new flashing and he shingles right over the soft spots instead of fixing the wood and then shingling. I have the video of the independent contractor pointing all these flaws out. He mentioned them in thevideo and the video was shared with Scott by my realtor when i told her not to show him and do not talk to him, and he became defensively furious. He is now threatening me with a lien on my home, small claims court, and I'll have to pay his attorney fees. He is literally bullying me with his threats and all I'm trying to do is check the integrity and workmanship of his work. I told him I have no problem paying him once a full blown ROC inspection is completed. He is a horrible person. Do not do any kind of business with this man. Scott was supposed to supply me with a contract not just a proposal that has "Verbal Agreement" in the signature line.. He legit needed a signed contract for a job over $1000 so because he did not do this he cannot put a lein on my home. Furthermore, he is threatening me with small claims court but I'm in Michigan Michigan is not in Arizona jurisdiction. Scott would have to come all the way to Michigan to sue me. Lastly, he's threatening that I will have to pay his attorney fees, but does he not know that attorneys are not allowed in small claims court? All these threats are just a threats to force me, or to scare me to pay him. All I want is to have my home inspected by a licensed contractor to give me peace of mind! He even seen the nice contractor's I truck in the video and called his boss trying to get him into trouble. That's the kind of human being Scott Lund-Ussery is! WOW where to start? First off I got an estimate for $450 to repair bad areas, but told it would fail inspection, or $5600 and do the entire roof. I didn't have enough for entire roof so I told Scott when I sell it, I'll pay for a new roof for the buyer after closing. To which Scott said, "don't worry about it, I'll put a roof on and you can pay me when you sell. I thought that was awesome, so I took him up on HIS offer, witnessed by his 15 year friend and my realtor. Well the house sat on the market from October to June and wow did the threats, and bulling start! He would call me at work asking where's my money. I told him I haven't sold the house yet. Then he threatened to put a lien on my house, I told him I was cool with that, because that goes with our original deal, of paying him when house sold. So I told him he should do it if he doesn't trust me. Next he threatened to go take the roof back off my house, if I don't pay. And I've got the texts to prove it. He threatened to take me to court and add lawyers fees, court fees etc. I told him I'd like to go to court and see what the judge thinks of his threats and how he runs a business in Arizona. Next he stalks my Facebook page and starts talking to me about my birthday, and people he knows that are my friends. Then he places a post on facebook of my Facebook page and my girlfriends Facebook page telling the world what bad people we are. Wow! Now he brought an innocent third party into this! Everything here is my personal experience and facts on how I was treated!!! FYI, I sold my house yesterday and my realtor made sure the funds cleared Scott and His company. UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW Nothing previously stated, nor will state is slander. Everything stated previously was the truth, everything in this update is fact, and supported by pictures, voicemail transcription, and texts received from the owner. "It's an act of God or act of nature," when the tile came off, it was not during a storm or microburst. I heard it and went outside. There was no wind, no storm. I agree that "tile does not just start falling off the roof 2 years later," however it did. "I however did call customer back and said we would come out and do a complimentary repair and no response from customer." The owner left my wife a voicemail, attached screenshot of transcription. No where in the voicemail was a complimentary tile offered. False statement. A little before 3PM, my wife thought she heard a knock at the door. She looked out the window and saw the owner taking pictures of our home. A little after 3PM, the owner called my wife and for 19 minutes threatened and harassed her that if the review didn't come down, he was voiding our warranty and contacting his attorney. My wife didn't even know about the review or the voicemail, at that time. After that, the attached texts messages began. Any slander has been from the owner. He was not truthful in his response on YELP nor paint an accurate picture of what he did tell us. He indicated I have a "history of bad reviews." I've done 24 reviews over 13 years, 75% 5 stars and 25% 1 star, that's my "history of bad reviews." There are 21reviews on YELP for this company, 57% 5 stars, 43% 1 star, not including bad reviews on google. The complaints have a common theme, we have all been threatened and harassed to take the review down. Looking at the branches on the tree, which are more like twigs, they don't hit the corner where the tile was. My wife took video while it was windy to see if it was hitting and it was not. The messages speak for themselves. I did call his attorney, voicemail, which is the generic voicemail a phone company sets up. If I could give zero stars I would. The owner of this company is extremely rude and over charged my card for the work that was done. When I called to discuss the issue he was extremely rude. He claims I avoided paying him because I was out of town with no service when he attempted to charge my card 4 days after the work was done. When I returned to service Monday morning I had no voicemails or texts from him. I have proof from the bank that he entered my card information incorrectly. When I received a call the following week when we were back in town, I answered immediately. I wasn't avoiding anything. We were happy to pay for the work performed. When he attempted to charge again after I insisted it was the correct number it went through just fine. However, he took it upon himself to charge more than what my invoice stated. He stated he is voiding my warranty...funny considering we paid for the work and never tried to get out of paying for anything. We simply wanted them to correct the overcharge. It is a shame because the employee who came out to perform the work was extremely nice and provided great customer service! Seems he cares more about the company than the owner does. Just had Scott and his team come out and make some repairs to our roof. Several other companies wouldn't even show up but Scott showed up the very next day, gave us a estimate that I was more than happy with. Was able to come back out the following day to make the repairs I asked for, repaired those areas and a couple others that he had discovered on his initial inspection and went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% happy with all the repairs. Terrible experience. Scott and contractors came out the first time to check out our roof as we had leaking in our bedroom and in our dining room due to the monsoon weather holes in our roof. They found 2 holes over the dining room and none over the bedroom (water went through a vent thing on the roof). They didn't do a water test to make sure every hole was found and sealed and we were worried about that but they said they were "very confident" with their work. A couple days later, more monsoons came and more leaking came in both locations. We called them, they came out again and found a additional hole over the dining room and a hole over the bedroom. They did a water test that time and it seemed all good but once again, a couple days later, monsoon storms happened again and AGAIN leaks in the same spots that were just as bad or worse than the first leaks! Scott's contractors came out again, went to check the roof while I was inside working. I noticed that I hadn't heard from them or any activity so I went outside and they were gone. No notice. My husband called Scott and he said something about telling them to leave and that they will not be fixing our roof any further because "someone was up there besides them" (which no one has been up there, our insurance adjuster didn't even bring a ladder to go up there) and some other excuses. Mind you they showed up whenever they wanted, said they would come one day and then not and we would only get updates if we called them. Will not and do not suggest using them. Unprofessional with regards to your time and the communication given between us as the customer, Scott as the owner and the contractors gets misconstrued every time which is very frustrating as a consumer. The vibe is that a new roof is the answer to any issues instead of coming up with other solutions. read more

I called them for an estimate to make repairs and replace roof shingles. I accepted their bid and they scheduled the work for the following day. They arrived and promptly went to work. Apparently fled Colorado Springs. His biggest concern was being paid. We just received an uninterested party's opinion that his crew short - shingled us. He always had an excuse. And my wife still remembers his BO. Update: after the work was "done," we started to have leaking. Scott said the problem was in the design of the chimney, which he said was not his problem. He charged me $100 to have one of his guys do some sloppy caulking. I ended up spending another $300 to have it properly sealed. We recently had hail damage, and the roof had to be replaced. Some real pros showed us how the chimney should have been flashed to begin with. read more

They were able to get an estimate on service (turret rain leak) and the work done before any other company I could find around the Thanksgiving holiday. They also gave a 2 year guarantee on the job. Scott and his crew did our roof last week and they did a wonderful job!! Scott had done a small repair for us last year so when ready to do the roof we called him. He got us our estimate within 24 hours and had the job scheduled the next week. His estimate was not over priced at all and his whole crew was very professional. We own a business also, so I tend to be a little picky. I have absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend this company to anyone that was looking. I received a written estimate for the complete job. I agreed to it and he said he could get started right away. With-in a day I had my shingles on the roof and they started working the next day. Doesn't even deserve 1 star!On 9/12 Scott(owner) came, introduced himself, went on the roof & took measurements. He came to door w/ papers, instead of giving me an estimate he asked for the bathroom. Said he would email a quote by the end of day, & then changed it to next day. By 9/16, I still no estimate, so I emailed. He called said that he had computer issues & will resend,their email wasn't working, & that I would have by end of business 9/16. I didn't receive until following day, & it had just never been done because it had 9/16 as the date. We talked back &forth about how it would go/colors/ timing, etc. On 10/1, I emailed him, my signed contract along w/the desired color. I called Scott that afternoon, he thanked me & said that he received everything & had ordered the product. We had small talk about how much of a range of there is between bids & the inconsistency w/ honesty about how roofing layers, or whether or not I needed a new roof, etc. during my estimate process. He told me that unfortunately everyone isn't honest! He told he would have product on Friday 10/4/13. I really needed to confirm start date as we were having someone else remove chimney & our swamp cooler & "capping" off that part of the roof. I wanted to make sure that I would not have to worry about 2 places on my roof not having shingles, since it can rain at any time. He told me that they would start Mon/ Tues, & that I definitely needed to have those 2 issues taken care of prior. He said that he would give me a call Fri & let me know if they would be starting Monday or Tuesday. He never called me. So Monday, I gave him a call to ask if were starting 10/7 or 10/8. He called me back & stammered over the fact that my bid had been rejected--which didn't make sense because he is the owner, he created the bid, he signed the bid, & he accepted the bid. He told me that he had mistakenly mixed up paperwork & given me someone else's bid. He apologized,told me that he was sorry but he's a business man & he found the mistake & corrected it for me! He told me that he would send me a new bid by the end of the day & that I shouldn't be concerned about the cooler/chimney because there is no rain in the forecast for 3 weeks. He called me back just a few minutes after we spoke & leave a long message about how "they" already had the bid ready. He gave me a bid that was $2,000 higher, & again let me know that he was happy to have fixed the issue for me. He also told me that he never received a color & that I would need to let him know! He then immediately called back after leaving that message & left another. He let me know that since I didn't know how contractors work that I should call back who did the other work & force them to make it waterproof, because it could rain at any time because we live in AZ. He said that because "we" rejected the bid, that I was no longer in contract w/him & I was free to use another contractor. He told me that he would be emailing the bid,it came on 10/8. Written in the same handwriting signed by the same person- Scott Lund. By the way, it's raining. He called &left me a message & said that he was glad that I let him l know that there was inconsistency in bidding, that is how he knew that he needed to revise his bid. Now starting on the 7th & 8th I had begun receiving blocked calls- they ended up being Scott. On 10/8, at 8:47PM,got a restricted call & was actually able to answer- It was Scott. I was irritated because I do not feel that is an acceptable time to call someone when it is not a predetermined time. He proceeded to attempt to explain himself. I told him that no explanation was needed & that I would be in contact. He said, oh so you're still going to use us? I said, I don't think so. He snapped at me & said that there was no reason for me to contact him then. He told me that he had only received color instructions & never received a signed bid anyway & that I was never in contract! He continued talking & I told him it was ridiculous that he was even calling & I hung up. He immediately called me back, he says oh, Teresa, I was just leaving you a msg. I told him that there was no reason for that or to call. He stated that I had to understand what happened. I told him I did, I understand that I should have never chosen him from the beginning. He was irate & told me I was just mad because I thought I was getting away w/ something & he didn't let me. I told him, nope I'm mad because you have lied on multiple occasions & you changed your bid because you could. At this time he started calling me Elizabeth & told me to stop talking so he could explain himself. I asked who Elizabeth was! He stammered some more & ultimately I hung up on him. Mr. Lund has now called back &threatened to sue me if I proceed w/ the BBB. read more
