Made in china cabinet sold as "antique" by salesman

Buyer Beware - "Made in China" furniture misrepresented as antique. I was sold a cabinet that the sales person explicitly said was antique. Rented a van to pick it up, only to spot a "made in china" sticker on the back (see pics). When I flagged it, the same sales person who told me it was antique, changed his story to say "I don't remember what I told you." A woman named Rose agreed to refund me, but I lost $50 renting a van. Urging anyone who buys from this place to ask for paperwork supporting the provenance. Don't trust the "committee" pricing these pieces without supporting evidence of it actually being antique.

We were absolutely thrilled at the treasures we discovered at the Ark Antiques and delighted to discover they are a non-profit helping animals. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and Rose took her time with us explaining sales, pricing etc. Definitely looking forward to returning.

The stuff is pretty expensive and high-end, but if I had a lot of money, I would buy a lot of things! I did buy a little pitcher and it was reasonably priced. I would've loved to have bought some of the blue and white table linens but they were just out of my price range but so very very lovely. I would highly recommend this place especially if you like the colors blue and white as much as I do for your living room decor.

Several beautiful coffee table books they carry are on my bucket list (support small business!) and I couldn't resist the coziest recycled tartan wool blanket last time I popped in. When you need a memorable birthday, wedding or housewarming gift, stop at Mood Indigo. They have on-trend candles, bowls, platters, baskets and serving ware, and the photographs and artwork would certainly impress a hard-to-please recipient who seemingly has everything! This little shop is a perfect place to find unique keepsakes for those vacationing in La Jolla/Bird Rock, too. You'll spend a bit more here but instead of cheap touristy items found elsewhere, you'll have high-quality gifts your friends and family will actually cherish and keep for a lifetime.

I will credit my pup Fendi, as she was walking me and pulled inside this shop filled with natural wood, stone slabs carefully handcrafted masterfully. There were many things that caught my eye. Many of these items were sourced from cultures of Indigenous people, throughout the world using indigenous natural elements sources from the land. Everything in this shop is beautiful. Really like natural elements using various wood, imported stone, glass metals to create furniture pieces for the home. These are investments because each item is unique and that means $$$$. But if you consider how much you use and brings you JOY that in itself is a return on your investment is all positive, good thing. The owner Brittany was cordial, super nice and helpful. Whether or not you're furnishing your second home: an ocean view penthouse in La Jolla or a modest home in anywhere, and you want unique furniture, it's a worthwhile visit at INDIGENOUS. Recommend

Customer service was disappointing, shipping was repeatedly delayed, and prices are on the high side. Our original order kept getting pushed back, so we ultimately switched to readily available items, something I now regret. After less than two years of ownership, one chair's back support cracked, and when I contacted the store about repairs, I was told it would be cheaper to buy a brand-new chair than to fix it. That was frustrating and speaks to poor warranty and repair options. While the furniture looks great and the pieces are unique, the service and post-purchase support need significant improvement. Pros: High-quality materials and finishes Unique, attractive designs Cons: Customer service/Communication Ongoing shipping delays Pricing Weak warranty and repair options

While the bookstore itself has a decent & varied selection of new books, and they'll order any book for you that they don't have, it is not the most pleasant place to shop. As a bibliophile and an English teacher, I really want to like and support Warwick's, but unfortunately, they've treated me poorly on multiple occasions which makes it challenging for me to give them more chances. There are many book sellers & employees, but they are not very helpful and they treat you like an inconvenience or worse. The right side of the store is book-centric while the left side of the store is mostly stationer & cards, writing utensils, gift items, and tchotchkes. Today, I purchased a book and a pen refill with a credit that I had at the store. I requested the pen refill from one counter, and I had to go to the book counter to pay for my book. Instead of giving me the refill so I could bring it over to the book counter and pay for both items with my credit, the employee brought the refill over herself and told a 2nd employee while pointing at me that, "that woman over there is also getting this pen refill along with her book." Then the 2nd employee handed the refill to a 3rd employee who stashed it behind the counter while I waited for my turn to pay. Keep in mind that the pen refill was a mere $6 item but they treated it like a precious gem that would surely compel me, if I held it in my own hands, to run out of the store with it without paying for it. Meanwhile, I'm holding the much pricier book that I'm going to purchase in my hands, but I rapidly felt like turning on my heels and vacating the store, and leaving the book behind, of course, because that moment was just so strange and uncomfortable. Over the past ten years, I have regularly patronized this store and I've purchased items here multiple times per year. However, there is no recognition, no friendliness, nothing to indicate that I'm more than just a tourist popping in on vacation. At the very least, a friendly greeting would do, but no such luck. The Every time I cross the threshold, I feel a wall of snootiness that is just unpleasant and takes away from what could be a lovely shopping experience. As I'm sure you've figured out by now, items are definitely on the pricey side here. You can certainly find a better value and probably way friendlier service at other bookstores outside of LJ. I think Warwick's probably provides a different type of shopping experience for patrons depending on who the employees perceive them to be, even if they are way off the mark. C'est la vie. Just know that if you are a POC and you shop here, you may have an unpleasant experience, but I certainly hope that you don't! Peace.
