The chattahoochee river is near by for fishing, rafting and etc. The only thing is finding the river was difficult and finding a nice spot on the river was driving distance. It would have been nice to have a map of how to get to places and the river. It would also be nice to have canoes, kayaks, and stuff to rent or recommendations of places near by where we could do that as an option. The place is still very new so there was not much to do around camp grounds. But overall a great place for reunion and relaxing.

You can even pan for gold in it! There is a small pond here where you can fish or feed the fish. A swing is right by it so you can relax and they have a hammock too! Hello tranquility! We saw deer walk by while eating lunch from the dining room window. It was magic! The home is near so many things to do or you can just relax on the porch watching nature. We are planning on doing some exploring and a tubing trip while here. The owners have a book with all kinds of information and brochures from local businesses! From restaurants and wineries to local shops and events, it's in the book to look over. We're already planning another stay to go to all the things we didn't know we'd want to go to! The home is 2 stories with 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed and large screen TV. The master bedroom has its own bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Full beautiful kitchen and dining room that can seat 6 at the table. I can't recommend Mountain Valley Creek Retreat any more!

You will need to understand that the floors and stairs leading up to the room are the original wooden floors of a structure built in 1884, so squeaking comes with the package. If you love places with lots of character then this is for you! Mike is an exceptional host who is very responsive and lets guests check in early if the room is ready. The location is right across the street from the park and a short three minute walk into the town square. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

We had some items that needed to be refrigerated and were accommodated in the refrigerator in the lodge. We had lovely conversations with both the owner and the new manager. They were there to spruce up the grounds and take care of minor repairs that were needed. My sense is that the owner wants to do business so if someone is visiting during the week they may be able to negotiate a lower rate.

It's not like you have a McDonald's or a Burger King right there lol. If you were up this high, why would you want to have regular fast food? Parking was easy probably because of the placement of it at the start of where you have a cabin area. They have to have parking for everybody. I'd already started dabbling in some wine so I wanted to stop off and this was the best option because it was the closest option and I wasn't disappointed. I was sad immediately and the waitstaff was pretty cool, pretty friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating. It just depends on what the weather looks like but outdoor fit because it was a nice day the last time I went. They'll come out and bring you all the food and the water or anything like that. You can just still look at the grass and the green area in the scenes. Pimento cheese stuffed cornbread rolls - wasn't sure what to expect from these but they were actually pretty good. The spicy and the sweet of the butter helped it along very much but the cornbread was good too. The cornbread had a dollop of polenta inside of it so when you bite into it enough you'll get that extra cheese filling. Maple chili glazed Brussel sprouts - the Brussels sprouts are really good and they came on a huge plate full of them so it definitely was enough to share. You had nice balance with the pickled onions and the feta cheese to balance against the sweetness of the honey glaze so it was actually perfectly balanced to perfection and well charred. Hot chicken sandwich - the chicken sandwich was good but personally, to me, it wasn't a hot chicken sandwich at all. It was just a regular chicken sandwich because I didn't taste any spice on it. It was still good and very flavorful. It was really thick so it wasn't like they gave you the leanest cutlet ever. It was a good regular chicken sandwich. It came with fries and the fries didn't seem like they were enough French fries but they were really seasoned and super crispy. Collard greens - collard greens are pretty good and you can see the meat in them and because it was braised in wine sauce, that gave it extra flavor. If you're in this part of the state, you're going to have a lot of wine going around so that's not surprising but they were pretty good. Overall I had a good experience here and this was better than stopping off at an Applebee's for sure because it had good food and a good view.
