I was up in the area and inside to go for lunch. It's on like a little farm setting so you gotta go up a hill and through the woods to get to it but it's actually pretty okay and it's very well placed because there's not a whole lot there. It's not like you have a McDonald's or a Burger King right there lol. If you were up this high, why would you want to have regular fast food? Parking was easy probably because of the placement of it at the start of where you have a cabin area. They have to have parking for everybody. I'd already started dabbling in some wine so I wanted to stop off and this was the best option because it was the closest option and I wasn't disappointed. I was sad immediately and the waitstaff was pretty cool, pretty friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating. It just depends on what the weather looks like but outdoor fit because it was a nice day the last time I went. They'll come out and bring you all the food and the water or anything like that. You can just still look at the grass and the green area in the scenes. Pimento cheese stuffed cornbread rolls - wasn't sure what to expect from these but they were actually pretty good. The spicy and the sweet of the butter helped it along very much but the cornbread was good too. The cornbread had a dollop of polenta inside of it so when you bite into it enough you'll get that extra cheese filling. Maple chili glazed Brussel sprouts - the Brussels sprouts are really good and they came on a huge plate full of them so it definitely was enough to share. You had nice balance with the pickled onions and the feta cheese to balance against the sweetness of the honey glaze so it was actually perfectly balanced to perfection and well charred. Hot chicken sandwich - the chicken sandwich was good but personally, to me, it wasn't a hot chicken sandwich at all. It was just a regular chicken sandwich because I didn't taste any spice on it. It was still good and very flavorful. It was really thick so it wasn't like they gave you the leanest cutlet ever. It was a good regular chicken sandwich. It came with fries and the fries didn't seem like they were enough French fries but they were really seasoned and super crispy. Collard greens - collard greens are pretty good and you can see the meat in them and because it was braised in wine sauce, that gave it extra flavor. If you're in this part of the state, you're going to have a lot of wine going around so that's not surprising but they were pretty good. The view here from the porch was absolutely beautiful-- I recommend dining on a beautiful day when you can sit at a table outside and experience the sunset. We received our appetizers and drinks only a few minutes after ordering! The wine here is not incredible but there was a wide variety and we enjoyed the flight we ordered. Our appetizers- the burrata and the crab cakes, were light and delicious. The entrees we ordered (the mushroom chorizo Marsala and the pumpkin risotto) were extremely rich and very decadent, the flavors extremely unique. We were big fans, but if rich isn't your style I recommend going with something a bit lighter. We loved it. Our waitress was so sweet as well-- all the staff was. We will be back! read more

A long drive from Gainesville to the Dahlonega Resort AND Vineyard and we arrived in time for dinner at the Blueberry on-site restaurant. This place was highly suggested for its beautiful location and splendid culinary creations. We agreed about the vast landscape and the view of mountains and grapevines and this time of the year a blending of colors from red to gold on every tree. We sat outside on the porch with the heaters on as the sunset brought an eery coldness up the hill. The menu is extensive and yes a bit expensive. Credit cards are the norm but be prepared to see a 3% fee. Samuel was our main server but we also see others that were runners. Ordering was a chore but the starter included Burrata.. a cheesy ball that accompanied firm quarters of a toast. The Salt and Vinegar Chips was the first one ordered but it came late after all meals were served...an oversight? My Blueberry Hill Pork Chop was a good presentation of greens and sweet potato reds, whilst the Shrimp and Grits looked fine but I sensed a look of disappointment as well as the same for the smashed appearance of the Pumpkin Risotto. The Fried Brussel Sprouts and the Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese were welcomed and tasty. The Blueberry Hill Classic Burger was impressive with a good amount of seasoned French Fries, but waiting for tomato ketchup was a bit of a bummer. Sure our glasses of water were replenished, but we had expected a more robust attention all around. The restaurant side of Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard is undoubtedly a favorite for many, but should we return to this Vineyard, we would probably spent more time exploring the grounds. read more

I recently attended an engagement celebration at this venue, which was beautifully hosted on the front porch of the restaurant. The event featured an elegant selection of appetizers, including an impressive charcuterie board and a variety of pizza options, with numerous gluten-free choices available. Guests enjoyed exclusive access to a private outdoor bar, which offered a curated selection of Kaya wines. Many attendees chose to stay overnight in the on-site cabins, which provided convenient accommodations just steps from the celebration. The venue is located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Dahlonega, offering easy access to local shopping and dining. Making it an easy drive for dinner or breakfast if staying on property. Overall, it was a wonderful location for a reception. However, I did feel somewhat concerned for restaurant guests dining nearby who were not part of the event, as the proximity of the celebration may have impacted their experience. Additionally it was a very cold day and no accommodations were offered to change the location of the party to inside for the comfort of the guests. Just warm enough and just sunny enough for comfort. We went through three bottles of wine including their unoaked chardonnay, a malbec and another red. The Twisted Sister wine was simply fantastic. We shared the charcuterie to start. A beautiful presentation and plenty for a party of five to share. Meat, cheese, toast points, olives, jam, candied almonds, pickled okra. Lovely to look at, fabulous to eat. Spencer was our waiter and when he went over the evening's specials, I was drawn right to the Georgia river trout. Two nice sized halves of fish with root vegetables in a balsamic glaze over roasted Brussels sprouts. Just fabulous and the chardonnay was perfect with it. Spencer provided great service and took this from five stars to, well, five stars because there isn't a sixth. After dinner, some wandering on the property including the tasting "pavilion" in the back that had a labyrinth with it. Try walking it and seeing if it also helps clear/focus your mind. We've dined at DRV before and really enjoyed everything. We were excited to take out of state friends there for a special celebration. Could not have been more disappointed! They weren't busy but the service was EXTREMELY slow and not good. Not bringing knives for the meat entrees, not bringing spoons for soup, reaching over people instead of walking to the end of the table (5 steps ) Just sloppy service and not polite. Food was meh. We celebrated a friend's birthday during our tour stop, and the food was just okay. However, the wine was amazing! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of interesting information. The customer service didn't create a warm atmosphere, but since we were in a group, we made the most of it and had a great time together. The pricing was reasonable; I think we all paid around $30 to $50 each, especially since we bought a couple of bottles of wine during lunchtime. Went there last weekend, not a lot of diners. They did have someone playing like guitar music. They're only open on Friday and Saturday's now. The property is very nice and has a great country, mountain feel to it. The food was a bit overpriced, especially considering the quality. Food options are also very limited. For an appetizer we ordered some braised brussels sprouts, which were very good and we were served a plentiful amount. I had the pork tenderloin medallions which were set atop baked macaroni and cheese. The pork was great, however, the macaroni and cheese was just not good at all. My wife had the shrimp pasta and she didn't care for that either. Overall, it's a nice location but the food quality was just not there and it was a bit overpriced along with limited options. Had a short but very nice escape to Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard over the weekend. We saw their $89/night special and couldn't pass it up. We booked the night before then headed over Sunday morning. The property was one of breathtaking beauty. Drive slow and take it all in. It gets better when you get to the top, where the main inn and restaurant are. Views for days. First stop was brunch at their newly renovated fine dining restaurant, Dahlonega Restaurant. After a delicious meal, we moved to their Twisted Wine Garden. Due to Covid-19, they're not doing wine tastings, just pours and bottles as well as snacks. Pavilion seating is not available right now either, but there's plenty of outdoor seating in their charming garden. If it gets too hot, you can sit inside the restaurant. To minimize contact, check-in and check out are all done electronically. They sent us an email with all the info the day before and then a text message with our room code the day of. We checked in after 3pm, dropped off our bags, and headed out for some fun in Dahlonega. We returned later that night, and was welcomed by the site of the comfy king bed. We stayed at the west wing, room #6 on the main floor. The room is spacious enough for two people, maybe more if you wanna party. Bathroom is kinda small, but had everything we needed. Though there's no TV in the room, you can request one. Their hope is that you unplug and reconnect. However, they do have wifi. Microwaves and refrigerators are not included in the main inn rooms, but are available in the cabins and villa. Thankfully, there was a Keurig which came in handy the next day. The resort and restaurant are closed on Mondays (as of right now), but they still provided us with a mini continental breakfast to-go. A staff member knocked on the door and left a bag right outside the room around 9:30 am. The breakfast included a whole orange, yogurt, muffin, granola, and a small bottle of water. It wasn't much, but the gesture was appreciated. The staff was wonderful throughout our stay. They were very helpful and responsive. They're happy to answer questions and give recommendations. Did a quick over night here with a travel zoo voucher. Unfortunately the voucher only allowed for non-weekend visits and many of the facilities on site were closed including the vineyard itself and the spa; hence the " deal. " Subsequently the " resort " felt more like a BnB. There were a few people there for trivia night when we arrived and a few in the morning for breakfast (which has a small, limited menu) that ends by 10:45 AM. As a result, we didn't try the food at the restaurant on site but we explored the grounds some and it is a very pretty site, as advertised. If you are looking to kick back and have a peaceful place to chill with a short drive to downtown Dahlonega (about 12 min) this might be a good option for you. On the plus side the bed was very comfy. They also have contactless entry with door codes and simple instructions that come through text message. On the negative side, we didn't realize some rooms don't have tubs or TV's and they didn't discuss that with us at the time of the reservation. Make sure you explore the different options as there seems to be a wide range of accommodations on site. The other downside is that the west wing, where we stayed, is attached to the main lodge and was quite loud early in the morning with other guests. The walls are very thin and being woken up around 8 AM on a rare chance to sleep in day was aggravating. read more

This was a great place to stay. We came over from Alabama for a weekend trip with friends. We visited several of vineyards & wineries in the area. The hotel is beautiful surrounded woods and trials. They had a huge front porch with heaters as well as several fire pits with chairs around them. The food in the lodge restaurant was amazing. This was one of them most relaxing stays we have had in a long time. The only reason it doesn't get a 5th star from me is one of our two rooms had a broken bed and the AC didn't work. They fixed the bed after it was reported but because the place was sold out they couldn't change our room so we stayed in a very warm room. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. I have the Atlanta DiningOut Passbook and there were a couple of places in Dahlonega in the book so we decided to make a weekend out of it. There were three couples. Our room was ok. It wasn't great but it was just one night. The bathroom door didn't close initially but then I figured out the trick. You have to push the left side in while closing the door. The other couples' furniture was a little older than ours. They had lots of lovely outdoor locations to sit and chat. The food was delicious, and like everyone else stated in previous reviews, not plentiful. I got the fish and potatoes. The dish came with rice but I opted for potatoes instead. The fish was absolutely delicious but the potatoes were a bit under cooked. I was disappointed bc I love potatoes. I also got the Brussels sprouts, which were the star. Someone else got the pork chops. They were tender and full of flavor...yep I tried it! Dessert was great. Brunch was just as delicious and more filling. Only one person in our group did not enjoy their choice. They got the biscuits and gravy but couldn't eat it. We did not bring it to our servers attention but I feel like if we did they would have been happy to bring him something different as the service was awesome. The service is the major reason I still gave 5 stars even with the room missteps. The live music was great also. All in all it was an enjoyable stay and we were already talking about going back. read more

Service was terrible. There was hardly anyone there and yet the waiter rarely came by to see if we needed anything. The food took forever to come and then it was wrong. I had to wait 35 minutes to get my correct order which was not good. It was Eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was thick and nothing like hollandaise sauce. Someone in our party complained to the manager who was just sitting at a table with another employee doing nothing to help the slow service. He shrugged his shoulders in response. We recently visited this place twice in the same weekend. We were there for a wedding. We had lunch one day and then a rehearsal dinner the next evening. The staff there could not have been more welcoming. For the lunch, we were waiting for others to meet us who were coming from other states. The manager suggested we head to the pavilion in the back got a tasting while we waited for the others to arrive. It is a beautiful pavilion with very comfortable seating. The sever was so accommodating and gave us some pretty generous pours. The wines weren't my favorite, but that is mostly because I'm more of a California wine drinker. But they were certainly pretty decent wines. Our lunch was delicious and the service was top notch. The rehearsal dinner was just delightful. The pavilion was lit with string lights and chandeliers. The food was great. The staff were so kind a d welcoming. The only negative thing I can think of is - they served heavy appetizers, but only provided napkins, not small plates. I can not speak much about the whole resort and vineyard since we stayed in a cabin there where attending an wedding at Kaya down the road. I will say the land at Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard is quite lovely with it's rolling hills and mountain backdrops. Our cabin was really nice that we stayed in at the resort. It was $150 a night after taxes/fees, which is a good deal for the area. The cabin (number 15) was very nice with plenty of room for us (family of 3). It was well maintained on the inside and was very bright with white paint and plenty of windows to open; and lots of light at night. The bathroom was nice with a shower with build in seat (a lot of guests probably find this helpful) for those having too much fun at the vineyard/winery. The cabin was stocked with coffee (k cups) and plenty of toiletries. However the directions for check in and trying to find the cabins with lack of signs can be a little bit confusing. We were lucky that we got there while someone was in the office to point us to our cabins. Signs would have been nice. Would I stay here again? Yes if I am in the area, but it's not a destination that I would go to unless I had to attend an event in Dahlonega. read more

Took a weekend trip here for my 40th bday, and my group was so impressed! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The overall vibe here is very relaxed with a jaw dropping backdrop. Property is absolutely beautiful! We ate breakfast, dinner, and brunch at the restaurant (opened Fri-Sun with a limited menu) and had an amazing experience each time - food and service was great. There are three wineries (Kaya, Frogtown, and Three Sisters) all less than 2 miles away, so we were able to venture out for several tastings. Resort offered tastings as well, and the setting/vibe here was much better than any of the 3 vineyards in my opinion - next time we will just stay on property to enjoy our wine. There's a beautiful wine garden out back, but we never made it out there because we had so much fun on the front porch listening to the live music. We are planning another weekend here for the fall, so we can enjoy the rest of the amenities we didn't get to this time. Stayed in one of the Villa rooms at the foothills of the property. Walls are a bit thin, but the rooms were clean and cozy. Cabins behind the main house looked super cute and are more centrally located than the villas. Villas are just a short downhill walk from the main house/restaurant. If you have a group of 4 couples, you could rent all 4 villas and have the entire house to yourselves. We truly can't say enough about our experience! Such an amazing and restful getaway. We will 100% be back again!! read more

I just got back from a wonderful weekend in Dahlonega, which I spent staying at Dahlonega Spa Resort. It's listed as "Resort and Vineyard" here but apparently it's the same; the name has changed a few times. It's hard settling on a star score because the venue surpasses expectations in almost all ways. Here's how things went for us: LOCATION: About 10 miles from downtown Dahlonega, the location is perfect. You feel completely secluded, but it isn't a hassle getting from one place to another. There are 73 acres here, each more beautiful than the last. You can enjoy a small pond with a lovely shaded area for enjoying a glass of wine, and quite a few nature trails which are essentially "out and back" hills. Take a short walk, or combine several for a more exhausting experience. CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT: Could not have been simpler! Because of COVID, the resort has begun a contactless experience where they just text you a code the day before and you can get right into your room without having to see anyone. Same with leaving. We felt great about this. THE RESTAURANT: Spectacular. Beautiful building, casual air, but a truly impressive menu. We dined here twice - once for dinner, once for lunch. Both times, we found the service and the food to be stellar. The smiles on our fellow diners' faces indicated that was how everyone else felt as well. EMPLOYEES: To a person, everyone was terrific. Super sweet, bending over backwards to make us feel welcome. Cannot say enough about the people with whom we interacted. They were *lovely* and take hospitality seriously. ACCOMODATIONS: My only complaint - it would have been a PERFECT stay otherwise. Our "king" bed was actually two twins pushed together under a flimsy mattress topper. Because the twins were actually worn and different heights, it was noticeable. We woke up sore with stiff backs and necks every day. Overall, I probably won't stay here as a guest again unless they improve the bed situation. When we first got seated it was fairly quiet because we went at 11:30 right before a lot of larger groups came, but just be aware that there are whole busses that will take people around Dahlonega for wine tastings and this is one of the places they'll stop. Food and atmosphere was great. I still dream of the spicy Brussel sprouts. The service we received from the bartender and waitress was very nice. Love the convenience of walking from your room to the restaurant, especially after wine tasting! Our only issue is when we originally booked this, it was through a third party and apparently they didn't "have anything available" for us (although we paid and had everything confirmed) but after a few phone calls back and forth- they were able to put us in a cabin. Our front porch chair was also taken during the night so when we went out to have our coffee in the morning, it just wasn't as relaxing! (No big deal but just a minor nuisance, especially since it's these small moments during a getaway that make it!) It costs about $300 to stay here for one night which is comparable to other stays in the immediate area because of the close access to the variety of vineyards. +Views are gorgeous +Close access to other vineyards +walkable Scenery trail (mostly down-hill and up-hill) - The Villa doesn't have great Scenery - Dirty - The booking staff said there's a tub, which there is but it looks like a tub that's at my grandmas house and not a $300 a night stay. - Theres a room that is at least 100 Sq ft that could hold a tub or a refrigerator, instead there's literally nothing. - A wedding was scheduled the same time as us and limited the amenities to a shorter period of time (check in was at 4:30 and they closed their wine garden (a 6 table pavilion) and their bistro was closed at 6:00 (normally 9PM) ultimately making us choose whether to get food or to enjoy other wineries. - The Villa consists of 4 secluded apartments (2 downstairs and 2 upstairs) but you can hear every footstep and conversation throughout the place. All in all, the place is actually quite beautiful and I haven't stayed at the other available options, but just do yourself a favor and don't book The Villa. read more

Beautiful property set back from the road so there is no traffic noise. The location is good...about 15 mins from Dahlonega. On our arrival, there was a storm and the power went off in most of the property including the kitchen so we couldn't make use of our dinner reservations. We went into town to eat and came back to the power restored. We had a glass of wine on the porch and were visited by the neighbors dog. We decided to stay in one of the rooms in the main building and that was a mistake. At about 10pm a group of very loud obnoxious people took over the common space below us and were there until midnight. There is no guest service number to call for situations like this just for "maintenance emergencies." The breakfast menu was limited but very good. We had the Hashbrown bowl and the waffles. The charcuterie board is good but not sure it's $25 good. The staff are great. Very friendly and helpful. Opted for brunch on check out day, Texas Omlette and the Seared Chicken Snadwich. Again the menu is limited but there are good options. Food was served hot and it was delicious. Check in and check out was super simple. Beautiful views. Good food If we return we will opt for a cabin so we're not right next to everyone. read more

Extremely clean, manicured and well appointed overall. The rooms in the main inn do not have a mini fridge but they do have a keurig coffeemaker. Ask for rooms #1 or 2 in the main inn if you'd like the view pictured here. I do have to stay that there was several signage on the main road in front of their property and also as soon as you drive in stating their political affiliation-in case that bothers you. Not sure how people feel about this, but I certainly didn't feel welcome and didn't cancel my plans because I drove almost 2 hours to get there. Let me start by saying the setting is beautiful, the facility is beautiful. We decided to go there for Christmas Eve dinner and the reservation was at 5:00, earlier than normal, but was ok.We did attempt to change it but nothing was available.What we didn'tknow: 1)Service ended at 5:30 2) Dinner was a buffet Needless to say the buffet food was close to end of life, mediocre warm and in general average at best. There was absolutely no Christmas decor and while the service was pleasant, we were reminded several times that they would be " breaking down the buffet !" If you don"t want diners for Christmas Eve other than guests of the resort. then don't accept outside reservations. This place is a peaceful gem tucked away. As you approach the property the rolling hills and the view of the mountains are gorgeous. Problem!!!!! The General Manager that greets you is "rude". That's saying it politely. We had never been at this property and were not familiar with the layout or the operations. He would not even stand up to point us to the map and with short answers he wanted us to get out of his face. Luckily a new employee was sitting next to him and felt our pain. She followed us outside and showed us the map and the "lay of the land". So great We are so thankful for her. After deciding weather to stay or go we ran into Zack, the restaurant manager. Now we see why they are still open. Zack and Jackie and of course a great bartender all took us into their fold and made us feel welcome. To add to Zack's customer service, I went down early Sunday morning and guess who was already in the kitchen helping to prepare the day? Zack. He prepared me fresh coffee to start my day. I recommend this place with the exception of the main GM, he needs to find another line of work. read more

Called ahead to make sure what time lunch service was we were told 4pm so we drove from the town and got there at 3:05 it was my brothers birthday and my sister is in a wheelchair we get to the dining room and are told we would not be served lunch stops at 3 no way to get anything. I have been on the executive committee at 5 star resorts on Naples fl (ritz Carlton beach resort,ritz Carlton golf resort and la playa beach and golf resort) and would have never let this happen. Spent long weekend at the resort as part of a large group of about 15 coulpes. We had a great time and I wanted to take a moment to mention the restaurant and its staff. The resturant was very clean and stylish and the views from the porch are amazing. The staff did such a wonderful job and was very accomodating. We had breakfast and dinner throught out our stay so we got to know the satff, Our servers Jackie, Maggie and Jacques were amazing,they were warm and funny and made our meals wonderful. Zach Slattery the manager was also so accomdating, he allowed us to stay and hang out well after closing and even have a trivia contast. I would absolutly recommend the restuarnt. The rooms were a mixed bad. The cabins and villas are cool but the rooms in the main house are a little sparse. Some rooms don't have a t.v. so if thats important to you make sure you ask about that. Its beauftial peacful and quite, perfect for a romantic weekend. read more

My hubs and I had to change our anniversary plans due to Dorian (hurricane) and we found this quiet gem. When I first read that there were no TVs, I was like, reh? We decided to pack board games instead and we just enjoyed each other's company! We sat on the porch watching deer and birds enjoy their freedom, walked and enjoyed the trail and we dined in the restaurant. Our stay: Melissa assisted us with the plans and she is a true southern gal! The kind you want to meet when you need a boost to your day! Honestly, we selected this place because of her and we are glad we did! The Villa was nice but we had a couple of little bugs coming in through the window near the bathroom. The grass was cut during our stay so maybe they were trying to escape. Housekeeping took care of it :) There was only one chair in the room and no table. We wanted to enjoy a board game but there wasn't anywhere to play. We tried using the bed but the movement, while sitting on the bed, wasn't a good for the pieces, lol. (These two reasons is why I gave four stars). The Villa is comfortable and peaceful. I would absolutely stay there again (if there's an added sitting area, lol). Restaurant experience: The breakfast and lunch were delicious but the chicken, I had for dinner, lacked flavor. My hubs had the steak with jus and I stole some of his jus for my chicken, lol. Breakfast - Frittata was delicious as well as the French toast plate. I'm not even a fan of eggs, lol. Delicious! Lunch - The gazpacho has my mouth watering now, delish!!! I wanted to like the bowl! The burger was good and paired with the fries, OMG. Corey was our waiter for breakfast/lunch and he was amazing! He even put on Anita Baker radio and the smooth sounds were a cherry on top! Sarah was our evening waiter. She made a comment about "stealing" that had us feeling uneasy but she was nice nonetheless. We enjoyed celebratory wine for our anniversary and she was excited for us and even stay around and chatted with us for a few minutes. The chef came out to greet us and welcomed us to join for breakfast, which we did without regret! The trail experience: It is a very true nature trail. If you lack stability, please take a walking stick because it's hilly and bumpy. To follow the trail, look for the white and blue paint on the trees :) There was rustling in the bushes so we hurried along without investigation! The water was nice but honestly, I was scared of falling so we didn't get too close. That's what happens when you watch too many SOS stories on the weather channel, lol. I'm not really an outdoorsy gal so I think I did well, even with the bugs! We didn't make it to the yoga studio but I'm sure it was nice. We'll do that next time! That's all folks! The cabins were nice but there was a problem with the water filter so the water smelled STRONGLY of sulfur. It was impossible to brush your teeth much less take a shower. It made the entire cabin smell. We complained and they didn't have a spare. Left without a shower Sunday. They made no offer to compensate us for our experience and the cabins are NOT cheap. read more
