It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. There are no activities at this place that come with the unit. You have to pay to use a fitness center or a pool. The wifi signal was very weak. A lot of buffering. If you like bugs, 1970's furnishings, no amenities then this is the place for you. Otherwise DON'T stay here. We booked it for a week, but checked out after 3 days and went to another place. Our wedding planning process was riddled with issues that made what should've been an exciting time incredibly frustrating. Midway through planning, our experienced coordinator was abruptly replaced with someone far less familiar with weddings. That led to several mistakes on the day, including my partner and I seeing each other before our scheduled first look. I had to repeatedly correct revised plans with inaccurate meal choices and start times that contradicted our contract. When I brought these issues up, I was met with defensiveness--not solutions. I was told I could use the bridal salon to change, but no one mentioned needing to lock the door. Someone walked in on me, which was deeply upsetting and avoidable. Even worse: our DJ and photographer had to step in to keep things running smoothly--roles they weren't hired for. I later learned other vendors have had tense experiences with this venue's management, which doesn't surprise me now. After posting my original review, the owner responded publicly--not to take accountability, but to deflect blame onto me and our vendors, even accusing others of making "disparaging remarks" out of "fear." Their inability to accept constructive feedback only confirmed what I experienced throughout the process: beautiful venue, but a deeply unprofessional and dismissive approach to communication. I would not recommend this venue to anyone. The setting is lovely, but that means very little when you're met with chaos, deflection, and poor leadership during one of the most important days of your life. P.S. To the owner, if you're considering replying with another dismissive or defensive comment: please don't. My experience is valid, and I'm sharing it so others can make an informed decision. The beignets were soooooo good, everyone needs to try this. I also recommend getting dinner earlier rather than later because they do run out of certain foods towards the end of the night. It's pricey in the fact that you have to pay for every little thing. (a small water bottle is $3.00) Highly recommend for families or couples just wanting a weekend getaway! For families with children there are lots of activities to keep them occupied such as corn hole, smores outside every night and bike riding that you can rent! I will suggest booking the different excursions in advance because it does get booked very quickly and certain excursions (axe throwing, archery and horseback riding is only available till 3pm at least that's what we were told. Extremely disappointing experience with RIS Limousine LLC…read more What started as a simple customer service discussion quickly turned into aggressive responses, legal threats, and intimidation tactics over a disputed deposit. Instead of attempting to professionally resolve the concern, the communication immediately escalated to threats of attorneys, collections, interest charges, and lawsuits. I fully understand businesses have policies, but professionalism and reasonable customer interaction still matter. At no point did I feel like there was any genuine effort to de-escalate or work toward a fair resolution. The tone of communication alone was enough to ensure I would never consider using this company in the future. Consumers should carefully review every document and ask detailed questions upfront before providing payment. Atlanta has far too many professional transportation and limo service options to settle for an experience such as this. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
