I am not sure if it is the change in Administration or what but it is a great change. On last night 2/7/19 we attended Literacy Night and I must say I was very impressed. The Teachers were very engaged and so were the Students and Families that attended. The presentation consisted of the use of graphic organizers and if your group felt the presentation used beautiful language, strong language or persuasive language. There were no right or wrong answers only answers with supporting context. The School should definitely plan more family engaging activities that support academic growth. For the most part the presentation was organized , started on time and ended promptly at 7:00 and provided light refreshments afterwards. I only have 2 critiques. It seems that more Parents attend than what they planned for so there was limited seating. I am not sure if my Son failed to tell us about Literacy Night but I received the invitation the day of the event. But I was able to make arrangements and attend. All the ELA, Reading and Literacy Teachers should've attended to support their actual Students.

I am a former student here and graduated in 2024. I was part of the choir in the FAME magnet…read moreprogram, and my little sister, who graduates in a week, is part of the band in the FAME magnet program. I would like to preface that everything that I am today is because of this program and I wouldn't change a thing, because it got me to where I am today and I am extremely proud of everything I have accomplished. Trey Giddens and Ashley Cleavland changed my life, and I would do it all over again if I meant I got to work with them. My little sister has been granted the opportunity to attend Berklee the School of Music because of this program and helped prepare her when applying. This program offers amazing things. However, to say the least, I am extremely disappointed in this school's administrative team that runs it. To make an extremely long story short, when I first joined the program, it was explained to me that once I became a senior, any leftover balance, in the positive, due to fundraising or excess payment, would be returned to me as a scholarship at the annual FAME awards. Granted, this could have been a different policy for the choir program than the band program. However, my little sister had $208 in excess funds that suddenly got transferred to the program's personal finances while my family was still under the impression they would receive it to help fund her future education. There have been several administrative changes since I was a freshman there, including a different magnet director every year for the past 6 years. The lack of documentation regarding finances and student expectation or accolades has been extremely neglected and needs serious attention. I know this review will do nothing to fix the situation my family is dealing in regards to the program, so my only hope is that this post will ring in someone's ear and draw some attention towards the fact that Moffett shouldn't be in charge of the programs finances and outside help may be warranted. Thank you for your time if you finished reading this. I'd like to reiterate that this program built me as a human and it's good for those who live for the fine arts. It just needs serious administrative reconsiderations.

One of the employees went over there and told them they needed to calm down which I completely agree with and understand completely but then this RUDE LADY went over there and said "You All Better keep it Down " and pointed at my kids just my kids( the only Mexican kids playing) So as she walked away all I said was "can you please not point at my kids" . The lady went and had the sheriff to make us leave so I tried to ask him why if all I did was ask her not to point at my kids he said he "dont care why" (meanwhile my 8 year old is crying because we didn't do anything wrong) tried to ask who we may speak with to fill out a complaint but they refused to give me any information. When you complain Mrs Bragg quickly becomes rude and dismissive. They won't honor simple requests like classroom changes or any other suggestions, regardless of the situation. The counselors shouldn't counsel a trash can, definitely not a child. Mrs Lauchlan is pretty good at accomplishing nothing. Mr Lawrence isn't certified and he has the maturity level of a 6th grader. Bottom line: Look at the test scores compared to other private schools. The kids complain about the lunch. The co-curricular and athletic options are good. Your kid will be bullied. Your kids will receive a public school education with perks. Don't waste your money.

My 3 years here were the best years of my entire educational career - including college and grad school! This place really is the most amazing school ever. I remember my first day just like it was yesterday. I was accompanied by one of my best friends, who was also making the big switch to a more civilized school. We sat in front of the bathrooms for like 10 minutes trying to figure out which one was for boys and which was for girls. Turned out you just use whichever one is open! In addition to just being an awesome environment, where you are accepted for being whoever you are, Paideia has a great curriculum. The year is divided into short and long terms. In the long terms, you take the standard stuff - physics, math, languages, etc. The short term is for classes that are a little more outside the box - Sociology of American Rock & Roll anyone? The teachers here are absolutely outstanding! You can totally tell that they love the school and truly believe in it's mission. And Paul, the headmaster, is just an all around great guy. Graduation was awesome. My graduating class was 57 people and Paul made a short speech about every single one of us! I am so thankful that I was able to go to Paideia on a scholarship. I regularly give them money so that others can do so as well. I am also backing them in their efforts to take over the whole block! Go Paideia!
