During her first test, she was failed for a curb check and a missed turn. The instructor told me "she shouldn't be hitting curbs at this point" It was a sharp turn and she was nervous about missing the turn. She also executed a flawless u-turn on Cooper Street by UTA! What concerned me the most was that the examiner talked throughout much of the test (mainly about watching out for squirrels and dogs). Instead of giving clear, concise instructions and allowing my daughter to focus on safely operating the vehicle, the constant talking made an already stressful situation even more overwhelming. She also asked if she always drive a car that big. We drive a cross-over. It is not a large car so the comment made no sense to me. The instructor was also rude and unprofessional, in my opinion, which only added to my daughter's anxiety. From the moment we walked into the office, the entire environment gave off a negative and unwelcoming vibe. Rather than feeling like we were dealing with people who wanted to help a young driver succeed, we were left feeling uncomfortable and discouraged. We almost felt like we were being punished for doing parent-taught instead of using their school. By the second test, my daughter was understandably even more anxious. Again, we felt that the way the test was conducted contributed to her stress rather than giving her a fair opportunity to demonstrate what she had learned. I completely understand that driving tests are supposed to be taken seriously, and I have NO issue with a student being failed for legitimate safety violations. However, I do expect instructors and examiners to be professional, respectful, and clear in their communication. I will mention that we took her to another school in Mansfield and she passed on her first attempt. The examiner even went over with me what he marked off for and said she did a really good job. Young drivers are already nervous enough when taking their road test. They should not feel like the person sitting beside them is trying to confused them or make the situation more intimidating. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I hope the school takes this feedback seriously and looks at how its instructors interact with students and customers. A driving school should be building confidence and teaching safe driving-not creating an unnecessarily negative and anxiety-inducing experience.

My siblings and I hired Pearl Rose Academy to evaluate my 91yo mother's driving. We had our concerns. Brandon understood and took mom on as a client. They spent 5 hours together and we ended up being reassured that all is safe for our mom, for now. Brandon called me after each lesson and gave me details about mom's skill set. Mom agreed for us to do this and she ended up loving Brandon. We will call Pearl Rose in a year or two or if we see a decline in mom's ability to be safe for herself and others on the road.As you can predict, taking away a parent's right to drive is a hard responsibility. We want mom to have the objective, professional input from Brandon so she can make her own decision when the time comes. We also have the info from Brandon to fairly and objectively determine if mom is safe on the road or not and then make the hard decision if mom decides to drive past her clear capacity to do so. I came to learn about The Driving Institute, earlier in the year in January - I had a relatively bad experience with another Driving School, after 10hrs of road experience with that school... I was left with no confidence in any of my skills and I barely got any feedback. I booked myself in originally for 2hrs behind the wheel private lessons (which after I passed my driving test - I added in a further 2hrs later in the year to gain some confidence with Interstate and Highway driving), and I must say from the moment I contacted Miranda at The Driving Institute, I was greeted with nothing but friendliness and professionalism. I had my lessons with Mr Rossi [The 2hrs were split into 1hr sessions] and I have to say just after 2hrs, my confidence rose to further than what it was after 10hrs with my previous instructor. He fixed any issues I had within seconds with such simple techniques. He's a great teacher and he knows his stuff! It was well worth my drive from Richardson just for the lessons - I couldn't recommend anyone better to get you ready for these fast and furious Texas roads.

They're enrolling more students than they can handle. they don't have enough drivers /availability to fulfill it. The schedule2drive website they use gets full in - no joking- in less than 1 minute and classes get full! It is Very frustrating. Jakob Howe has been ghosting my emails and not valuing his customers $ money. This is not a good way to do business sir. Good Customer service and honesty goes a long way.
