I don't write reviews, but I find it hard to simply let this one go. This past summer (May 2025) the belt on my self propelled lawnmower broke. I was planning on fixing it myself, so I mowed the lawn without it a couple times. After a few days I thought, what the heck, I'll have someone fix it and give it a tune up while it there. It was an old mower, but it was still running. I brought it to this place. They told me $60 for diagnostics, and will call me 3-7 days. On the 7th day I heard nothing so I called to inquire an hour before they closed. The guy on the phone read off a bunch notes from the mechanic. Jargon I couldn't make heads or tails of and said they couldn't fix it. I thought he was talking about the belt and I asked if I can still cut my grass. He said it doesn't run, even thou it was running when I brought it in. Just wouldn't self propel. I said I will be in, in a couple days to pick up my mower. When I got there the guy behind the desk pulled my file all he said was, "oh, a yellow tag (whatever the hell kinda code that is). They weren't able to fix it?" I guess not, I said. He read the notes and things got quiet. I didn't get any explanation from this guy about what happened. The air about it all felt a bit suspect. Then they brought my mower out and I can see why it wasn't running anymore. It was literally destroyed and rolled out to me in pieces. I was so taken aback by what they rolled out in front of me that I couldn't even open my mouth to ask what happened. I seriously regret not opening my mouth about how I felt about them right there. To finish off the humiliation, a mechanic came to help load it into my crossover. Still had their dirty rags on it, I asked him "is it leaking?" He said "probably" I told him to take his dirty rags and insisted on some plastic to protect my car from that leaking oil before loading it. If you're reading this, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! These guys are worse than amateurs when it comes to customer service. I seriously don't think they even know what that term means. Yeah, it was an old mower, but I wish I had tried to fix it myself and not gone through this humiliation for a belt. Bought brand new Eco Lawn 250 two weeks ago by paying full amount of 7500$. After assembling and engine not starting. Called customer service several times. They asked for video and sent how the machine is cranking up. These responses took a while and we have to call our contractors lined up on this job to spread our athletic fields. Finally customer service came up with the below response very vague asking us to take this heavy machine to nearest dealer and get diagnosed. I would never take a chance to buy any product from this website as they do not have technical support for machines sold. This website has no warranty or guarantees on a machine brand new sold. Refund policy is so bad and sales person told me that any issues will be taken care over phone but once called after purchase responses are thrown back at the buyer. Buying Eco lawn 250 at price of $7500 and now we have to go around with Honda centers to diagnose, fix or whatever cost we have to incur on brand new machine that never worked. Jerks. Attitude. Go somewhere else. I'd question the actual care and quality of their work. Last year I caught them not using the specified manufacturer spark plug. They were jerks, acting like I'm the one in the wrong. "We just use what we have laying around." Really?? I called Toro to question what they'd installed, and now Toro was questioning Arlington's judgement and advised me to remove it. Next thing I'm fixing Arlington's carelessness myself. This year I gave them another shot. They were rude from the first call, doing all they could to not perform any warranty service. I'm never going back. (Frankly it's a pain getting in there anyway.) BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! We had used Arlington Power Equipment in the past (pre-Covid) with good results. The experience we received now is downright disgusting and insulting. Customer service for individuals are no longer their priority. For individuals like us, who can't afford to waste time and money, Arlington Power is not the place you want to send your equipment to! Our Toro riding tractor mower wouldn't start. My husband did everything to try to resolve the issue at home himself. He changed parts, cleaned out parts, and all that. No luck. He contacted Arlington Power and they changed a pick up and delivery fee (unless you are commercial landscaper, for the ordinary homeowner - yes, they screw you!). Desperate to have it fixed, we were at the mercy of the pick up and delivery fee. It was picked up and we were told we would hear from someone in 2-3 days. Fast forward 5 days and nothing. My husband called them only to find out they're busy and can't look at it just yet. Another day or two. He called back 3 days later and spoke to someone. They checked it, replaced parts, and it didn't work. They think it needs a new motor. First of all - they replaced parts without speaking to us so theoretically spent our money without our authorization. Now they're saying a new motor! Hubs is desperate because we don't have thousands to spend on a new tractor. So we okayed the order. Long story short - they ordered the motor, installed it, and it still wouldn't start. They never called us to tell us any of this! After 3 weeks of nothing from them, my husband calls them and this is what they told us! WTF!?! There was NO Communication! They want to bill us over $1,000 for work, some we didn't even authorize, and WE had to constantly check with them on what's going on! So - Now they delivered back to us a tractor that doesn't work with parts that aren't necessary and we are s#*+ out of luck because Arlington Power SUCKS on communication. They mainly now deal with companies and landscapers who will pay for services no matter what. They don't care about individuals or smaller jobs. I have used this facility for several years. I used to use one further south down Rand, but too many times stood around waiting for service there. I have had need for their services for my Toro Timecutter more than once. When needing a snowblower, they had a great used one that fit needs perfectly. Left a review with plenty of fine feedback, but just got notice that it was taken down for not being specific enough. Allow me to continue. Customer service is awful. I purchased a McLane edger and was delivered by truck. Item was brand new in box, in less than 4 months both wheel bearings have failed. I maybe used this edger 8 times, for my front yard only. The only way to get them to stand behind the bad wheels is for me to send the whole unit back to them (freight on me) so the "service techs" can look and say Yup bad seals on the wheels, what a way to not stand behind what you sell. I sent them pictures (see attached) and was told to go fly a kite or get with McClane themselves. You would think if you are a certified Mclane dealer/service that Arlington Power would stand behind what they sell. Stay away from this company. My Mclane reel mower was purchased from Mclane themselves and very happy with the product. Again, buyer beware. read more

To make a long story short, their overall attitude sux and they're also incompetent. For the longer story, see below. They had my new mower sitting there for over a week, waiting on a Briggs & Stratton warranty repair, which was never done. They checked a couple things, but flat out refused to evaluate the air intake drawing in air somewhere downstream of the air filter (ie, unfiltered air). I absolutely knew that's not normal, so I pressed them on it a few times. But they insisted it's not a problem, that the engine is working as it should, and told me to take it somewhere else if I'm not satisfied with their evaluation. Wouldn't even allow me to talk to their service tech about it. A couple weeks after that, I'm getting engine surging...a sure sign the carburetor is now dirty because of that unfiltered air intake issue that they were refusing to look into. But with this mower still under warranty, I can't mess with it myself, else that voids the warranty. So I go back there with a video of the engine surging, expecting them to request I bring the mower back in. Well, the last thing on their service dept manager's mind was fixing my mower. Actually, condescending backtalk was the ONLY thing I got from that dude. He's over there lying, telling me they ran hours worth of diagnostic tests (which I know for a fact only take minutes). Then he was questioning what I do for a living, because since I'm not a small engine repair tech, I can't possibly know anything on the topic. So that's how that went with him, and again he told me to take it somewhere else for evaluation. So, a "somewhere else" shop found the issue to be precisely what Arlington Power Equipment refused to evaluate. The air leak was traced to a detached crankcase breather tube, which allowed unfiltered air to breach the carburetor, clogging the jets, causing the engine surging. The carb was now too gunked up for just cleaning out, it required rebuilding. Obviously, all of that got fixed under the Briggs warranty. Would be great if B&S heard about how one of their authorized service shops refused to evaluate an issue, which lead to a costlier warranty repair with that carburetor. Anyways, Arlington Power Equipment charges an $80 diagnostic fee, which they refund if they fix it under warranty. After the mower was fixed by the other shop, I went back to Arlington with the repair ticket, got my $80 back. So all that time and hassle spent on this bs shop ended up being for free...what a bargain! When I was there the first time, that service desk manager guy was complaining how warranty repairs require all sorts of documenting and picture-taking and stuff...I certainly picked up that they hate doing them. So maybe it's just too much work for them, and they'd rather just push you out the door? Or maybe they're just really this crappy at repairing equipment? In either case, I'd recommend finding another repair shop. read more

I am a long-time customer of Arlington Power Equipment and I am grateful for the customer service I received on numerous occasions. I have had a Toro push mower and a Toro Workhorse tractor mower. Both are older units that often need more TLC than newer equipment. I am the type of owner that understands to some degree power equipment, asks lots of questions, and wants to be sure that the best decisions are made in a timely manner to insure long-term performance. I appreciate the fact that they are in a tricky business. Parts aren't cheap, labor does not come cheap, and it takes time and tear-down to fully diagnose a problem. I've spoken to mechanics, the service manager, and the parts department...all agents well suited for the conversations I want to have about my gear. Above all, phones are answered, work completed as promised, and I am able to move forward in regards to caring for my home. I appreciate the people behind the service. I am grateful for the fact that my business is welcome even though I am a private homeowner and not a multi-machine landscape company with much bigger, and lucrative needs. They take the time to take care of me, and those good efforts earn my business as needed. Arlington Power Equipment has had many times over the years to poorly handle my customer needs. My experience here was one of the worst ever. I took my riding mower in for service, including new mulching blades,and after getting it back several weeks later, the mower didn't mow right. The grass was laying down and a huge strip of uncut grass from the middle of the mower occurred. After contacting them the said I must have done something. I took the mower to a John Deere dealer. The problem was AP installed the blades upside down!! Clearly, AP has now idea how to service mowers. I will never go back. Consider yourself warned. He brought the mower home and low and behold that part broke when he was mowing the lawn. When he called back to discuss the broken part, the customer service was horrific. He THEN brought the lawnmower back a second time to fix this part. It was ready a week later. After a week, he went back to the store to pick it up and while testing it at the store the men at the front were RUDE. My husband told them the part was not fixed and they denied there was anything wrong and it was fixed. My husband had to start the mower and it wasn't until the service guy came out and agreed with my husband that the part was NOT FIXED and FIXED IT THERE. I can't say anything about the service people but the guys at the front were rude, arrogant and had no customer service. Sorry but we're done with arlington power equipment. I ordered an Echo 58v battery online for my Echo mower to have as a backup for the original battery. The battery I received was defective right out of the box, and after contacting customer service, I was told I could either pay $30 to ship it back, in which case they would replace it, or take it to an authorized Echo service center for warranty replacement. The battery I received never worked, and it is on me to return it at my expense! I am done with Arlington Power. They don't stand behind their products. Was told will take 3-5 days to look at it but was not done for almost 3 weeks because they kept pushing back the fix date. They picked up my snowblower in early December for a tune-up and estimated a return before January 1. I never received a call or anything, and had to follow up late January, only to find that they say it needs a part that is on backor. They promised then to get back to me right away and another week went by (with two more rounds of snow I had to shovel) without a word. When I called back now in early February, they basically said there's no way to know if and when the part will ever be available. So I'm demanding it be delivered back home so at least I can use it for the remainder of the winter. When I said someone should have reached out to me at some point to report on the fact that it supposedly needed a part, so that I could authorize the work and understand the time involved, they said they are too busy so they "encourgage customers to reach out to them." Nothing but Great things to say about Arlington! As a retail store manager for over 30 years I know what GREAT Customer Service looks like. Juile D. has it in spades. I was looking for 2 generators for the RV we just purchased and thought I knew what I wanted. I placed my order online, and of course I ordered the wrong ones. I left a VM and got a call back from Julie the next day (they're in the mid-west and I'm in NV). She walked me through looking at the right options and accessories, changed some of my original order while I was still on the phone, and let me know about the nationwide issue with Honda generators at the moment. Purchased a snowblower at their online store. Thirst issue noticed right after order confirmed : awaring about extra charge for liftgate not listed during checkout. Asked for cancel the order in this case, customer support said sorry and arranged a liftgate service at their cost. Truck arrived, however the driver refused to bring the package near the house. He said this is a curb delivery and he can leave at the street. My house is located on the hill , 80 yards away from the hill. I'm unable to bring 350 pounds package up to the hill. Driver refuse to access the private property with his track again. So, I was trying to work with Arlington Power customer support. This is what I got from them : "Thank you for your note. We have been informed by R&L Carriers that they are unable to deliver on to private property. Unfortunately, you will need to accept the delivery at the curb. If you decide to refuse the order, you will be subject to our return policy. You will be responsible for the outbound freight, inbound freight and 20% handling costs ($830.82)" So, the company has been informed by tracking company that it is impossible to deliver to the private property...LOL. They shipped the product to the residential address with commercial service and finally found out it is not possible to deliver. And for this lack of knowledge and professionalism the are going to charge the customer. What a great service . In addition they said : "We understand that this is a very unfortunate situation but we must stay consistent with our return policy" So, they trying to solve this issue as a returning goods while it is not delivered. And forced me to confirm delivery on the street , blocking the access to my house. No will to resolve the issue, just pushing and threats. This company is a big joke and potential customers should be aware that this is a source of troubles only. read more

I will never give this place any of my business. I brought in a trimmer to be looked at for not running. I specifically told them I didn't want to invest that much into it and asked that they call me before doing any major work. I called two and half weeks later to check on it (I was told 10 days when I dropped it off). It just so happened it was "scheduled" to be worked on that day. Five days later, three weeks after dropping it off, I finally get a call it's ready. I get there and the bill is $160, which no one called to authorize. I stressed that I didn't want to put that much into, especially when a new one costs only $40 more (this trimmer was 10 years old and I only paid $100 for it used). The manager insisted I never said anything about requesting a call because it wasn't on the work order. Instead of trying to remedy the issue, he did not own up for THEIR mistake. After making excuses, his solution, remove the new carburetor and send me on my way without refunding my initial $40 deposit. Instead of trying to work with me on cost, which I would have been open to, his solution was lose out on revenue and send away a very unsatisfied customer. This place obviously gets their business from landscape companies and doesn't care about the individual homeowner. Don't make the mistake I made, go somewhere that values ALL it's customers. read more

This Toro dealer not only failed to honor the Mfg. "Full 2 Year Warranty" on a snow blower I purchased from them in Oct 2011, but they claimed my machine needed major work, to tune of $160, because of a fuel leak I discovered at the start of this winter caused by a bad carburettor gasket. This problems was deemed not to be a warranty item!. In addition, they claimed it needed a new spark plug, a rebuilt carb etc. because of "varnish" in the fuel system - in spite of the fact that the fuel was drained out and the engine run dry (as specified in the owner's manual) at the end of the winter season. I dropped off a honda lawnmower for repair. The problem is a broken/rusted bracket which is part of the baffle assembly that controls how much grass is bagged vs mulched. I had it apart enough to determine what was wrong, but didn't feel like fixing it myself. The whole experience started off bad. I described the problem, and also asked them to sharpen the blade. With regards to the blade they said 24.00 to sharpen if they have to take it off, vs 12.00 if I take it off. I told them during service, they will have to take it off anyways so they could do it for 12.00. I got a blank stare from the service guy. I then said "fine, we'll have that conversation when you tell me what you have to do to fix the baffle". Then they explained the 40.00 deposit for service and that it was for a minimum diagnostic/estimate charge. I was waiting for the punch line on the 40.00 deposit and finally he said "non-refundable". Then he went on to say if I don't want it serviced, I get the lawn mower back in pieces, after paying the 40.00. BUT....I can use the 40.00 towards the purchase of a new lawnmower. Then It was my my turn for a blank stare..... No way. I can see it now....they call me up, want 300.00 to fix it, so I'm between a rock and a lawnmower in pieces. I said "sorry, I'm not doing business with you guys" Went home, found parts diagram, ordered 40.00 worth of parts, and I'll fix it myself. I wouldn't buy squat from these people.
