I was sooooooooo excited to find this place. I was actually able to see and touch the hardware, to see if it felt right when you would open the cabinet or drawer. Sales person was very nice and I had to make multiple trips with blue prints to place order and then the trouble started. Sold me latches for my pocket doors that were too thick for the doors, sorry, special order cannot be returned, not even if you are willing to pay a restocking fee. Set screws for some of the door handles were not the right size, you do not have to come in, just send them back. "You did not send them back in their original boxes, " mind you this happened when the house was being built, so who knows where the original boxes were and no one told me they had to be in their original boxes. Too bad, we have your money, and now your handles and YOU the consumer HAVE NOTHING. So I had to find some where else to order my handles, thank goodness I had a manufacturer name or I would have been MAJORLY screwed. Will I ever shop here again? NEVER Will I recommend this place to others? NOT A CHANCE Anybody need latches for pocket doors? read more

I had a great experience here. We had gotten a paneled refrigerator and realized 4 days before that we needed to have a handle there at the time of delivery. None of the online places were an option due to delivery. I was referred to this place and they helped me out in this last minute emergency situation! I was able to see handles there in person and quickly decide on couple that I liked. The sales person made calls to the vendors and was able to expedite and ship the handle and get it delivered on time to us. We did have to pay hefty expediting fee for shipping, but it was totally reasonable as we ordered it just 4 days before. They had also offered for me to take any of the handles that were present on display if I needed it right away that day. All in all, I was very happy with the service and their willingness to solve the problem at hand and find a solution. read more

I purchased cabinet hardware here for my kitchen and bath remodels and can't say enough positive things about my experience. The first time I went I did made an appointment for my kitchen and Ashley spent almost 2 uninterrupted hrs helping me with my decision. The other times I went without the appointment bc it was a smaller project and although they were busy they did get around to helping me. Everyone I've worked with is really knowledgeable about the stock, finishes, and lead times of the products. They're showroom is impressive and I can't imagine a better place to choose hardware from. I don't know what people are so upset about. We've purchased from here twice for two different houses and never had a problem. If you've ever been in this store you realize from the first step in, it's going to be hardware overload. There is just so many options it can be overwhelming. I do NOT blame the staff for not following me around from the moment I walked in. I want to look around at the thousands of options and narrow it down before I have a shadow. There's just too many choices to have a salesperson follow you. When you see the approximate design, color etc get someone and they will help you pick out what works best for you in both style and price. My husband picked a set he loved. Do they take back knobs? Yes, but only if you don't need them to. If you do, then they don't. Restocking fees? Sure, except if you ask them why there is a cost and ask them to prove it. Lynette, the sweet talking nice sounding sales person, is secretly a liar who will say anything to make a dollar. I have tried to resolve things but she does what she wants to do. I live in the next town and never knew this store was here. So, I was excited to find it. I walked in and was not greeted at all. I browsed around for about 20 minutes before I finally had to ask for some help. I was looking for drawer pulls and a mailbox. The girl that helped me was young and made me feel like I was bothering her. I left and went back a second time. Same thing. I walked in and was not greeted. I went once around the store and left. If I could give zero stars I would have. The Customer service is non-existent. Walked in at 2.15 with my husband - we were the only customers in a Saturday afternoon. There were a few kids behind the counter, loud kids I might add. Three adults as well. They all had a grand time discussing vacations and looking at their phones. We walked around for about 15min., waking right past them several times. We were never greeted - not a "hello" or "can we help you" - just ignored. I felt like I was intruding on private party. This cabinet hardware store is nothing short of amazing! I have to worn you- you may be a little overwhelmed due to the amount of knobs this place carries- Not too say that's a bad thing at all (if you can't find the knob there- I don't know who would have what you're looking for). A employee there was so very helpful- helping me narrow down my choices and select a knob/handle combination that will stay with me for years down the road- they even let you take home samples for a week to 'try on' in your home- BEST idea ever. I was really able to see how the large handles would look on my cabinetry. Order was in the store within 4 business days... Couldn't be more impressed with the service, communication and overall quality. GREAT CUSTOMER SERIVE . We built a new house about four years ago. We ordered all of our hardware form The Knobbery. Everything we went well, the service was excellent and the pricing was very fair. Fast forward to today, we need to replace one of the door handles coming in and out of our garage. We email the Knobbery late night outlining our issue. Let me start by saying I arrived at 2:50 when the store closes at 3:00. I did call before I drove from downtown to see if I could still get some help and was told that as long as I arrived by 3 they would be more than happy to help me. WRONG. Stood in the store for 5 of my precious 10 minutes waiting for help. Finally flagged down someone who quickly rushed through showing me where a few things were. She then instructed me to take a picture of whatever I liked so that they could assist me on Monday. She made it a point to tell me to get the photo with the item number. Found exactly what I was looking for minutes later, only to realize that there were no item numbers on the knobs I picked. Went back to find the associate (Kelly) who informed me that "They we're now closed and she could no longer help". I explained that the item number wasn't on the display and she reluctantly sighed and finally agreed to help me get the info for the product I wanted so I could order it Monday. After some more back and forth, it was clear that she was doing me a HUGE favor by working past 3pm to provide minimal info. Odd a sidenote, we were so excited to finally remodel our home after waiting a very, very long time. My friend suggested we go to The Knobbery, but I had never heard of it. I went in the Knobbery in Arlington Hts, IL on Northwest Highway. When I said I had a question, the young lady behind the counter asked me in a mocking voice of like a 5 year old, "What is your question". I thought this was really weird because it turned out that was not her actual voice. She had such an attitude like she was doing me a big favor by assisting me. Any questions I had, she gave me short insufficient information in which I had to keep prying more information out of her. She acted like I should know all about hardware and like I was taking up her precious time. When I picked a handle to sign out, she took my information, put the handle on the counter and never said anything like thank you or have a nice day. Then I saw the others behind the counter kind of laugh. This place should be called the Snobbery. I will never go back. This girl must be the owners daughter or something if they allow her lose business for them. You can find the same hardware other places. read more

I shop at Home Depot for most things, but I'm so glad I chose to go to The Knobbery for my kitchen cabinet hardware. 1 - The selection is amazing, not only do they have knobs to fit every design style and price point, but they have more than knobs too - bathroom hardware, faucets, door knockers, vent covers, mailboxes, etc. 2 - Feeling overwhelmed by the huge selection (like I was)? Simply show the staff a picture of your cabinets and describe your style and budget, and they will bring you a manageable set of samples that could work well for you. They even let you take them home for free (and you should). They can also recommend sizes based on each drawer/cabinet size. These guys know their stuff. 3 - Think a boutique shop with great service can't possibly compete with the big box stores? Not so! We paid about what we would have paid at Home Depot, however if you're interested in something for say, $150 a knob, they have that too. These guys are worth a drive - I just happen to be lucky enough to live down the street! read more

This shop has everything when it comes to unique, high quality architectural hardware! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, which is not something you will get at Home Depot or any of the big box stores. Also, the selection was so much more extensive then at HD,etc. We had looked everywhere and were thrilled when someone told us about this place. If you are in the market for door handles, cabinet hardware, bath hardware or anything when it comes to nicer hardware....this is definitely the place to shop. I priced out what I liked and the no one else had anything like it and it only cost me about $60.00 more for everything. $60.00 to have my kitchen look so much nicer and higher quality was most certainly worth it! read more

Walked around for a few minutes. I was in a hurry to get somewhere so I left knowing I'd be back. I thought this looked like the perfect place to find kitchen cabinet hardware. I'm remodeling a huge kitchen and will need over 50 cabinet pulls. Came back in today with my door sample, granite sample and even paint samples all ready to make the exciting decision of new cabinet hardware. Again, no greeting at all. Who doesn't say hello to a customer walking in??? Another couple was browsing also. During the 30 minutes we all walked around not a single person said a word to any of us. I jotted down a manufacturer and style I like and will go purchase somewhere else. I wouldn't spend a dime here. I knew I could probably find anything they were selling online for less money but felt that having a salesperson help me pick my hardware would be worth the extra cost. My experience was so different than that of a few other reviewers, I feel compelled to post my review. We stopped in 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday afternoon, looking for 16 cabinet knobs. My husband and I are remodeling our master bathroom and closets and want some really nice (and durable!) hardware. True no one was sitting by the front door to "welcome" us...but the staffers were doing something even BETTER: Actively helping the customers in the store. After getting a chance to browse part of the huge selection of knobs, pulls, et cetera on our own, a salesperson named Linda asked how she could help. Linda listened to what we were looking for and made some great suggestions. After we made our style selection, she showed us the various finishes and explained the nuances between them. We placed our order and they will be shipped to our home in Atlanta. At no time did we feel rushed or ignored, even though our visit went past closing time. At first, I was very overwhelmed by the number of choices. Each time I have been there, I was always given very personal attention by their staff. They were great at helping me narrow down my choices and letting me know what may work best for each project. They were also great at keeping me within my budget. My order was processed quickly and I was contacted promptly when my order came in. I have been very happy with the quality of my kitchen knobs that I purchased about four years ago. I just had the knobs installed in my new office and they look great. If you are doing any renovation projects, this is the place to go. If they don't have it, I don't know who does.
