We were in the car driving because we live 40+ minutes away. The remaining appointments were silently cancelled shortly after. The office did not bother to call us, we called them before our scheduled appointment to verify. No one answered so we left a message. Our call was not returned. We called another location that didn't offer OT, and they are the ones that told us all our appointments had been cancelled. Without commenting on Maggie's competency, we find the treatment we were given by the front office utterly unacceptable.

Each one was just as good as the others teaching me what to do, explaining why I was doing it, helping me get it right, printing out handouts so I could remember what to do when I got home. First of all, it was not time for an evaluation, and you had decided before the visit that it was going to be my last one, and neither you nor Annette told me before the appointment. I should have had the option to decide whether or not I wanted to take part in a sham evaluation that seemed designed to cover up that Annette's advice had injured me.  I should have been able to decide whether I wanted to take part in an evaluation that would not benefit me at all when I was there to actually receive treatment.  The pretext you decided to use to disrupt my medical treatment was that I was not willing to do exercises. I guess it's fun to ignore that I was injured by the foam roller exercises that Annette gave me and had to work hard to decompress my spine.  Myofascial release and stretching are as important as exercises. Just giving someone exercises is a recipe for injury.  I said that I was willing to do exercises. I simply wanted to not be injured, and to receive treatment. Though it was very scary to have my back pinching for the first time in my life, and very uncomfortable to have pain in my cervical spine from the compression, the upside is that the kyphosis is correcting. The downside is that as my spine straightened I started to feel pain in my sternum from the pulling. Apparently I was just supposed to put up with your therapists' haphazardly treating me without dealing with my actual body in real time as it changed from the treatment, and get injured.  It seems like you failed to injure me significantly or trigger me into leaving, I expect you to actually treat my body, and so you decided to deny me service. It seems like there is some quality of mine that makes you think it is acceptable to discriminate against me.  It seems like it is regular business practice for you to trigger people to opt out or to not treat them. So, now I have to report your business to my insurance company. I also have to report Claire and Annette for their bizarre and unprofessional behavior.  I'm guessing that the business owners rubber stamp your unethical spinning and justification of refusing patients service (since you said you have been there for 12 years and had no problem looking me in the face and discriminating against me and inventing pretexts), but I will report you to them. Please ensure that both Claire and Annette know that I was actually there to be treated and didn't have any intention of being triggered or injured, and I will be reporting them. In case you were misleading them, they should have the chance to actually treat me.  If they have been entrapped, I am not the one entrapping people. I just want to be functional and pain-free. It is a felony to collaborate to prevent someone from being able to use their medical insurance to receive treatment. I will also be reporting you to law enforcement. Kyeann Sayer

They are so busy because they do great work and if you follow the regimen, there are quick improvements to be had. They have a good team of occupational therapists and techs. It probably is as good as it gets…read more I recently stayed 15 days after brain surgery to remove a tumor. The therapists were all excellent (save one who made me nervous and uncomfortable). When I couldn't see well enough to read, one of them just brought me a pair of reading glasses. That's what they are like, encouraging, competent, caring. The nurses, and other staff, were also excellent. I did not see very much of the doctor, but I'm not sure what the doctor does exactly, except perhaps oversight in ways the patients do not see. Most of these places have shared rooms. This is really the worst part in my opinion, because it's so loud, families and staff coming and going at all hours, and you're often being woken up. Having a TV on with patients that have brain injuries is a nightmare, it feels like it's drilling right into your skull. it's But as a shared room, I think a big effort was put in to make it as separate as possible, and it's large and pleasant. My roommate went code blue in the middle of the night, and I don't know what happened to her. I had two ER visits at UNM myself when I was there, they are near to each other and somehow related, they were suggested to me by UNM after I had my surgery there. I don't think this is par for the course though, we were in the brain injury unit. I would have stayed longer if I could, perhaps until I was off some of the more difficult prescriptions. Having three and a half hours of therapy, and structured care was a godsend after the surgery, when I couldn't think clearly. The billing department may need a little help. I just got a letter saying they disallowed the whole amount (59K, !!!!!) because the wrong billing code was used. So I have to work that out. I thought the food was okay. I have lower expectations, and maybe more appreciation, for Lovelace, since my mother stayed about a month at Kindred last year. My mother couldn't wait to leave Kindred, so that's about the measure of the difference.

The doctor was pushing anti-depressants when he knows our end goal is to have him off medication. My mom is the power of attorney and told the doctor absolutely not to the medication he was pushing on my brother. After my mom left, he went back into the room to convince my brother to get on a low dose. Disgusting!! All they want is money by putting you on medication that creates more side effects for more money. I will definitely be reporting this doctor and do not reccommend this place. After 30 days of being there my brother has had very little improvements.

She was just simply told she did not care about getting better rather than entering into a conversation about her treatment and how to make it effective for her. Then after 4 visits and being told what the copay is for each visit and being paid at time of service, the remote parent company decided that the amount we were told for copay for their service was not correct and now they wanted more money. I tried to talk to the billing department, but was only received with rudeness and threats that if I don't pay up they will just turn me into the collections. Will not be returning to do business with such rude people.
