I almost hesitate to write this review for fear that my secret weapon will be revealed to the world, but I simply must do it. ARMSCRAFT WAS GREAT!!! There, I said it.
We have a rental property which was our first home and one we intend to keep for many years to come. The last things to be updated were the bathrooms and boy did they need it!
We were on a pretty tight budget ($13,000 max) and an even tighter turn-around time (the rental was in between tenants and we only had a month to get the work done!), but Edgar came through AMAZINGLY for us.
Short on time and with just a few design ideas in mind, we were pretty stressed going into this project as you can probably imagine. To our relief (and, frankly, surprise) Edgar was able to work quickly with us to determine how to best utilize the limited space available in both bathrooms while maximizing existing features and complimenting with new ones. The end result was two updated bathrooms that got outstanding reviews from everyone who saw them, many requests for Edgar's phone number, and lots of inspiration on how to update their own bathrooms.
The master bath shower was completely gutted and rebuilt from the ground up with marble wall tiles, river rock floor, luxury hardware, and a new sliding glass shower door; the existing vanity was sanded, painted, and upgraded with a quartz countertop and new sink; the old 3-light ceiling heater was replaced with a quiet, high-capacity exhaust fan; a new vanity light fixture installed; and the entire room re-plastered and painted.
The guest bath shower/tub walls were replaced with subway tile and a new glass sliding shower/tub door installed; the tub resurfaced with new porcelain paint; the existing vanity was sanded, painted, and upgraded with a quartz countertop and new sink; a new medicine cabinet was added; a new vanity light fixture installed; the old exhaust fan was replaced with a new, quiet, high-capacity fan; and the entire room re-plastered and painted.
The amount of work that needed to be done was a pretty tall order for such a short period of time, and had to be coordinated with other craftsmen if everything was to be finished on time. Fortunately, everything was and Edgar really went the extra mile to make sure the project was completed to our total satisfaction.
Going into a project like this can definitely be unsettling because you just don't know if the contractor will be fair, honest, and sensitive to your needs; if the result will be what you had hoped and paid for; and if the overall experience will leave you raving about your contractor to family and friends or scrambling to find a lawyer to get the project done.
Fortunately, our experience was nothing but positive with Armscraft: The project finished on time and right on budget. The new tenants love the remodeled bathrooms. We will easily recoup the money we invested in the project through a justifiably higher rent and increased property value. And we have the peace of mind knowing that the work was done with great skill, attention to detail, and pride - basically everything you want in a contractor.
We look very forward to working with Edgar again, this time in our new (old) house that could definitely use his expertise and craftsmanship to make it even better, and can't recommend him highly enough. read more
