I recently had a new boiler installed and my HVAC guy said we needed a new chimney. He recommended these folks. We contacted them and were impressed with the quick response and they gave us a quote within a couple days. Like many companies they charge for a quote but it goes towards your install if you go with them. They sent an awesome crew to take down our old chimney and install a metal pipe that I love. We ran into an issue with the condition of the siding and they were very helpful in providing different options. They are upfront on the cost and it was exactly what they told us. My experience with Armstrong Chimney and Stoves was smooth from the very first phone call to the end of the chimney project. Before I could have a new furnace installed at my home, I needed my chimney inspected and a new liner put in. Tanner from Armstrong came to my home, inspected the chimney with a drone, and was able to show me pictures of the inside of the chimney and what repairs were needed. Once we made an appointment to have the repairs done and liner installed, Tanner and his work partner came out on a FREEZING cold day to do the work! It took one day to complete. They cleaned up the area inside, showed me "before and after" pictures, and thanked me for my business. I would not hesitate to recommend Armstrong Chimney and Stoves to anyone who would listen! "Hi Ira, I checked the chimneys on the home located at __St. yesterday afternoon. We will not be submitting a bid at this time, as we have shut down our masonry division for the Winter. I'm not confident that the side chimney top will make it through the Winter, and strongly suggest you find someone very soon that can accomplish this for you, as this is a very dangerous situation and should be addressed immediately. If the question arises, we have no one to refer for the work. Thank You for considering us." I think it speaks for itself, but,.... 1. Why look if you know won't do the work anyway; 2. I know it needs to be fixed, that is why I called you; 3. You're not my mother, so I'm not too interested in your opinion if you won't do the work; and, 4. We were referred here by our HVAC contractor because they didn't do chimney inspections. Armstrong was able to do video inspections which we needed. We liked the inspector that came out; he was friendly and courteous. (Random observation. He wiped his feet clean coming into the house. You'd think more people did this!) We scheduled for a cleaning and inspection but didn't need the cleaning. And, the office was friendly and tried accommodating our request in their busy season (the fall!) so we understood there was some delays. read more

When I called to have my pellet stove serviced, I was never told that the appointment was for a diagnostic appointment. They said my pellet stove needed to be cleaned, but I had to make an appointment for them to return for $199 cleaning. I would expect that when an appt is made to have something repaired that it should be working when they leave. I called the next day to express my disappointment and was told it was our fault that it wasn't cleaned. My husband was given directions on how to clean out one of the pipes, which he did and got it working. It's really upsetting that I had to pay $85 for nothing. I would not recommend Armstrong for pellet stove repair. read more

Family business for many years (enough said). Contacted them after having two other contractors on this job .... and all the job was installing a wood burning stove and stove pipe. First "contractor" (use the term loosely) is your typical :fly by night" Chimney company operation - kept trying to up sell me, ordered material before room for stove was even built (and insisted we put the stove pipe in before room was even finished - needless to be said - we didn't trust him and got rid of him; but had all this material). Second contractor was to finish the room and install said wood stove. Got as far as making it look like everything was connected but didn't go through the roof - and walked off the job. Some luck we have, huh? Finally a neighbor who has been using Armstrong for decades recommended them. They came to give us an estimate and were upfront with the fact they couldn't install right away - which was fine with us. The appointment process was easy, friendly, and professional. Installer came at time promised - didn't try to up sell us on anything, but did discover that we needed a different interior black stovepipe (the one we had was short a few inches) and needed another corner pipe. We ordered the parts and had them delivered to Armstrong. Once they received them, they called us up immediately and scheduled a new time. Again, fast, easy, courteous, professional, and neat..... Do yourself a favor and don't go to anyone else. Wish I new about them from the start - my stove would have been in working order and I would have enjoyed over the winter... read more

Can't say enough good things about this company! We recently sold our house and during that painful process the buyers wanted an inspection of the fireplace/Chimney. Since we have been continuous customers Armstrong came out for free to help us close our deal. Unfortunately, the buyers were extremely picky on the wording of their write up and Armstrong had to redo it several times. So sorry about that again!! They were great to work with and WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. read more

They came to inspect house for putting in a chimney for a woodstove. Said they would give an estimate by email within 3 - 4 days. Two weeks later a letter arrived in the mail with a whole different proposal. I called twice and told the secretary that I wanted to talk to the person who sent the proposal. No one ever called back and that was over 3 months ago. In the meantime I found out that their proposal would not have passed inspection. Very poor work ethic and communication on their part. read more
