That might help explain why among my variety of interests, roller skating and bowling are high up the list of things that I like to do. Plus you haven't really lived until you've experience a wood burn (or 2) or participated in the "Promenade" group skate near the end of the session. Back in the Day, my Skateland was located at the Emmett County Fairgrounds, and its distinctive tent was only open part of the year. It was a Family operation, a interesting social scene, and a hot date venue (or so I was told). Roller skating has different feel than being on ice, and in both cases the balancing skills (and being able to do it backwards) stays with you. So do the memories of a simpler time.
