At the entrance we took some fun photos at the signs. I am not a military personnel and the only time I entered a military base as a civilian was in Fairfield CA many years ago at Travis AFB when my brother (US Army) was hospitalized and where he passed away. This Army installation was named after Henry Knox, the first Secretary of War. Fort Knox refers to the United States Bullion Depository which was a separate building from the Army base located at a far distance due to its high security. The impenetrable fortress was just a plain building but nonetheless a sight to see. When someone mentions 'Fort Knox' in a conversation or as an idiom now I can actually say I've seen it! LoL! It's easy to find just off Dixie hwy and centennial ave. by US Cavalry and across from the new gas station. Three sewer workers and a police man was overcome by dangerous sewer gas. Over the years a pair of shrubs have matured there have been some additions. To the memorial. I am traveling on business, and around 3 p.m., my manager pings me about needing a report before…read morethe close of business (COB). So, based on experience, I automatically think, "I need to find a library." Why? Because the majority of libraries offer free WiFi. So, I went into the library and to the front desk to inquire about their WiFi accessibility and grumbled about my manager's urgent request. He replied, "Figures, especially on a Friday. Here, let me give you the passcode." He hands me a piece of paper with the information and adds, "There are some tables in the far back that you can work at." I had no issues with the log-in/passcode and quickly signed onto my VPN. Also, I was in a rush, so I didn't catch his name, but he was very friendly and understanding. The only issue was that they closed at 4 p.m. and had announced that they would be closing over the PA system. However, since I am Deaf, I never noticed until a nice lady walked up to me and faced me to advise me that they were closing in less than five minutes. Luckily, I had just emailed the report to my manager.
