I began working on the edges of Middletown almost 20 years ago, and back then there was nothing…read moremuch in Middletown that stood out other than a few local shops and cafes on Old Main Street. I also knew of Middletown and Hite Elementary, plus Eastern HS - all good schools. Now, Middletown looks different. I still work nearby and now I live just a couple of stop lights away. It continues to be a good place to shop local on Old Main, including Prickly Pear, Judy's Consignment and shops in the buildings once used as the first grocery store, or post office. Their city hall building also has a small walking circle and tables to enjoy lunch outside. A few local cafes have also remained, such as Alley Cat Cafe. During the fall they host a weekend fair, shutting down the street and shooting off fireworks. For Christmas they light the path with lights. Getting back on Shelbyville Rd, this area has popped with new businesses and restaurants. Most are chains but some are local. Check out the Cheddar Box, Paul's Fruit Market and Havana Rumba. Getting Target and Walmart in Middletown truly changed things. Nothing had been there! Now you'll find things to do and eat all the way to Gene Snyder (and beyond!) - House of Boom, Planet Fitness, Cyclebar, Club Pilates, Feeders Supply and more. Middletown is becoming a popular spot for families to purchase a home, or for new businesses to move in.

Walk to the left past boulder pond and go up the concrete path you will shortly see some rock and nature steeps up a tiny hill. Walk up there and take in the great view and find a perfect place to take in a sunset or just relax. The dome circles back around to the a concrete path. You can take a left at that to go back to your car in the parking lot. Or you can go right and follow the concrete path which is a combo of sky Meadow excursion trail and the bullfrog crossing trail and it will lead you to the other end of the parking lot.

So it's not really on a map per se but I knew this area and I knew that it was a cool place to fine and to look over the whole park. My daughter and I wanna pair walked around it was cool I had some rocks and walls to climb on so it's definitely a cool little place to check out. So I would suggest packing up your whole family going to Boulder pawn and then checking out Skydome while looking for the excursion and seeing all the nice beautiful sceneries I know will do it again as a whole family soon

Library was easy to find and a very impressive facility. Demonstration kitchen with video display and audio were all great. Parking lot was fairly well lit, but did have a few burnt out roadway bulbs, which caused us to walk very gingerly off of the curb to our cars. Looking forward to future programming.

The Mallard clubhouse is a nice new addition to the Mallard Lake subdivision. I used to live in the…read moresubdivision and they always said that the clubhouse would come about. The main branch of the Louisville library located at 4th and York is in a beautiful building,…read morewhich, according to a plaque, was built between 1905 and 1908 and donated as a gift from Andrew Carnegie. While a gorgeous building, I can't properly rate it as I haven't used the library as a patron -- I haven't borrowed a book or spent time in there studying, so I don't really know how good a library it is. But as a tourist passing by, it was a good place to stop in for a look at the architecture and to use their washroom and fill up our water bottles, which was very much needed on such a hot day. Then we got in line to pick up our dinners. Rick was our amazing chef and he had prepared an 8-oz Baked Pork Chop, Baked Sweet Potatos, Sliced Apples, Salad, or a Cup of Chili. Our price was $12. They also had three choices of desserts for $2.00 - pumpkin pie, chocolate cake or cookies. The Pork Chops were thick and tender enough to cut with your fork. The Sweet Potatoes and the Apples were so good. They tasted just like my mom used to make. Thank you to all that came tonight to help support this outstanding Veteran's Organization. Robyn

Is it the Rhine River in Germany or is it Kentucky…read more The engineer that designed this gatehouse and reservoir drew inspiration from a trip to Germany. This is a historic marker and on the National Register of Kentucky. Construction began in 1877, they lived on site to build and finish this project. In December of 1879, Louisville began using the reservoir. After the first five years many individuals came by buggy to walk around the grounds. The gate house and house were aesthetically eye appealing. Louisville water planted trees, placed a walking path, and horse hitches for guests to stay and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Louisville water still continue to maintain the water basin today. Mules are used to clean the mud from the Ohio River. As of even now; we are still seeing the beauty of the original dream of a single engineers dream of glory here in Louisville Kentucky. All these years later we still walk and gather around the grounds of this elegant building and surrounding area.

I love the reservoir! There is a great walking path around the water. It's great no matter the time…read moreof day and you can see beautiful sunsets. I also love seeing the ducks and other birds around. There is ample stree parking but there is a lot near the aquatic center. The walking trail is open from dawn to dusk.
