The Market is picturesque with lovely flower carts by the entrances. Historically, Covent Gardens were the gardens for the convent. Today, the beautiful enclosed market hosts various vendors that change regularly. The market is a great way to connect with locals. We went to the market four times during our visit. On Sundays, various art vendors set up and we visited with a local fossil dealer and purchased a couple fossils. We loved our dinner in one of the nearby cafes. On Mondays, antique dealers set up and sell various treasures. My husband bought me a vintage bracelet. We also watched a quintet play in the atrium. We found a few reasonably priced souvenirs to take home for gifts. Plenty of great restaurants surround the Market. We ate at several places and enjoyed our meals. The Market always seems to be new and people were friendly.

This was our first food hall experience out here in London, so I really didn't know what to expect. Arcade's dining system is definitely something we weren't really accustomed to, but honestly it worked out pretty well despite its first impression as being chaotic. Being able to see every vendor's menu from your phone was very convenient instead of having to walk around, but walking around wouldn't be a practical option anyway as the whole place is pretty small and densely packed. Anyway, we ordered shawarma fries and Nepali chili dumplings. The fries were honestly really good, though the portions were pretty small. The dumplings were hefty and also good too, but not great in terms of value. Not sure how "authentic" Tipan Tapan is when it comes to Nepali food, but hey, at least I can say I've had Nepali food before at least once. Speaking of good/bad, the selection here is pretty underwhelming. My wife and I weren't exactly impressed by all the offerings the vendors had to offer which is ironic considering how many vendors there are. Service is really fast though. We got our items and beer very quickly despite how busy they were. Love the lively atmosphere and environment/vibes, but personally wouldn't recommend it if you've visiting (like me).

What immediately struck me when I entered was the variety of different cuisines available under one roof - Indian, Middle Eastern, American, Nepali, Japanese, Mexican, Cantonese, Indonesian, and Plant-based. They have good music piped in., I got the impression that it was a popular place for friends to hang out given the number of groups that I saw seated. The food was good. For dinner, I had a Mojito, Spicy Tuna Roll and Lime and Ginger Cashews. The Mojito was refreshing but did not have a lot of rum. The Tuna Roll tasted good. When I came the second time for lunch, I had Spicy Tuna Sando which my colleague had the previous night. It was chopped up Spicy Tuna on top of Avocado and Watercress layered on sushi rice. Everything was in a fried seaweed folded in half to hold the contents. It looked like a Japanese version of a taco!

For any one of my friends traveling into London I always recommend veering off a little to Carnaby. Over the years some shops have come and go but some of my favorites remain open. I'm a huge Great Frog lover and their shop is nearby, also for us rock n rollers I can't help stopping into The Rolling Stones Uk store. Lots of major branded stores but also cute local vendors and stores. It's a very walkable street and safe. Plenty busy so come earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Another pro tip is catching a reservation at dishshoom down here as I've found it easier to snag a reservation here than at their other locations. Plenty of dining options though and local stalls like Starbucks and Joe & the juice. It's a touristy street of shops but I love it - definitely bookmark this area on your must shop / see list when on this side of town.

There's a handful of stalls inside ranging from Indian Wraps to Mexican Tacos to American barbecue to Chinese dim sum. Each has a small one page menu so you can grab a few items from one place and find a table to share. I really enjoyed the chicken curry banana leaf platter (not pictured) from Gopal's Corner as it was a great amount of food and lots of punchy flavors. We also tried the paneer wrap from Le Bab, which I wish had a spicier sauce to make it stand out. Overall the space is quite large and there are plenty of seating options. However, there's no quieter area that you can sit and have a conversation. We say on the opposite side of the hall as the live DJ, and the music was blasting on the speakers throughout so you had to yell over the music to chat with your friends. I also found it hard to find a clean table, which may be easier on some nights than others. We were in on a Saturday night and even the clean tables were a little sticky.

I had the Spicy Pork BBQ Bowl (£8.90) and my friend had the Market Noodles with added Fried Chicken (£6.90+1). If you've ever dined at On the Bab, this is pretty much the same BBQ meat. I've never had the noodles there so can't say whether the noodle dishes are the same too. The margin on these dishes must be amazing. I mean, the Market Noodles is an instant ramen derivative. Despite that, the broth for the noodles is okay and makes the dish. The BBQ bowl was a really generous portion of meat on top of rice. I even asked for a bit more rice and was readily accommodated. This is not food that I would go out of my way to eat but a good stand-by option. Next, the space - again, see photos. The premises was much smaller than I had imagined. But then again, I've just come from LA where the Korean food courts are massive so it is a relative statement. The ground level has the open "kitchen"/food assembly area, shelves stocked with various Korean sauces and random Asian stuff, like bowls and stationary. There is also a very cool grains dispenser, frozen foods freezer, stacks of crates with instant noodles and other packaged food, case of pre-made Korean dishes and one case that was pretty empty when I was there. I'm not sure when/whether I would come get groceries here but it's nice to have the option. In fact, I did buy a Shin ramyun for £0.80. The basement level downstairs area is where you can take your tray of food to dine in. Not a large space but empty when we were there. I noted the various Monocle publications on the bookshelf - an indication of their target market, perhaps?
