    Gado Gado - thumbs up

REALLY good Malasian/Singaporean food in Chinatown, London! A must try! Somehow as myself being an Asian (from Hawaii), on these European trips, I must have rice once or twice (aside from the great tasting breads and pasta in Europe). Maybe fellow Asians, you can relate? It was highly recommended by our local London friend (originally from Indonesia) that we have to try this place in Chinatown. "Great tasting food at really good prices. We go there every time!" So we heeded this advice and on our last morning in London before flying out later that day, we trekked to Chinatown to try it out. Sure glad we did! They do not take reservations, so people line up outside. Luckily when we went, there were only about 5 -6 people ahead of us, and after a 15 min wait, we were in. The place seems small on the outside, but there is another dining room downstairs as well. So the line might move a bit quicker that it may appear. Although my wife & I already had breakfast a few hours earlier, this was our 2nd breakfast! :D Ordered Beef Rendang and Gado Gado, along with Jasmine Rice. All were A-okay! So based on this limited sampling, we agree with the recommendation... and we got our mandatory rice in for our travels in Europe!

    Hainanese Chicken Rice

Made reservations which I was fortunate. Definitely recommend. I had the Hainanese Chicken Rice and Broccoli with Garlic and the food was really good. I do think the rice by itself may have been too starchy but the broccoli was a great add. Service was very fast (less than 10 minutes from ordering I got food.) Only downfall if I have one is the kitchen doesn't time dishes per table so when the food is made it is delivered so I had my rice for a bit before I got my broccoli. I saw other tables where one person was eating and the other person waiting. With that said very happy I went!

I'm from Malaysia and finding authentic Malaysian food has been a challenge and this place definitely made me feel at home. Delicious food and my favorite is always Roti Canai and their chicken satay. Yummy!!!

Five stars just for the crab. Trying black pepper crab over the more typical chili crab for the first time. This English also came with the most roe I've found in a crab in years. The rare to find delicacy was also randomly one of the best deals I stumbled upon in London at ~$40 for this crabzilla, vs the last Singaporean chili crab I had in NYC for ~$130 that only offered a small dollop of roe. (I know the traditional Singaporean black pepper crab is supposed to be dryer but this was delicious anyway, and the value!) Friendly service and non-dingy environment. Instagram: TianTianEats

Stopped by here on a local food tour- busy busy full on early Fri evening . The queues were starting to form outside so you know that's a good sign in Chinatown ! Our host recommended reservations in advance! The restaurant is fairly small and felt a little claustrophobic as it was soo busy Can only comment on the one dish which was fantastic- Beef Rendang curry with roti- so not skimp on the curry sauce has a little spice kick but delicious Will definitely visit here when back in London

I wanted some noodle soup while in London. The weather was cold and it was a perfect night for soup. I wanted to get Singapore/Malaysian cuisine cause I don't get it much in Florida. I did not have to wait for a table because it was just myself. I got the window seat. I ordered the laksa noodles and the chicken wings. The laksa was so delicious and I wish I could have more of it! The wings were great. Hot and crispy. I wish I could've tried everything on the menu but not by myself! Definitely recommend Rasa Sayang!

I grew up in Singapore and this was a pleasant taste of home. The interior is no-nonsense and service was charming since they aren't afraid to talk to you and crack jokes, which invokes a bit of the street food vibe especially with the colorful tables. Dinner can be expensive, but the lunch menu is good value. Definitely plan to visit again to try the laksa and get some more of that Sambal Kangkong Belacan. Shotgun review: Har Cheong Gai (Chicken Wings) - so tender and crispy with a great sweet and spicy sauce on the side. Little thing, but there were no drumsticks, which I loved. Teh Tarik - always good, no surprise. Roti Canai with Chicken Curry - Roti is always good so maybe I'm biased, but it really hit the spot. The chicken curry was really rich and I used it on my other dishes to bring them up a notch. Chili Sambal - make sure to ask for this on the side. Definitely levels up everything. Sambal Kangkong Belacan - I loved this dish. Basically super savory/spicy broccoli/bok choy. Unreal. If you don't like vegetables, prepare to have a big character growth moment. Seafood Wat Tan Hor - really good and salty/savory saucy noodle dish but also very filling (huge serving size). Unexpected winner in my book. Hainanese Chicken Rice - the holy grail of SE Asian cuisine and the thing I was looking forward to most. Unfortunately Rasa didn't hit the mark (my expectations are probably higher than most), but they were headed in the right direction if you just need to scratch that itch.

Terrible service, great food This place located conveniently at the entrance of Chinatown. Very busy on a Monday lunch time when I visited thankfully I had reservation I got seated right away. I was seated on a table first but then got moved to another not sure why. And it took a looong time for them to come take order. Had Asked for water couple times. Also took a long time for them to get the check as well. All the food are great. Taste really good and the price is really decent. Only hope the laksa they uses egg noodle instead of the wheat noodle.

Utensils. We are in the basement

2025 Apr 18: We came at about 3pm and there was a line. Since there are three of us, we were told the wait is about 35 minutes. 1) chicken satay 2) Wah Dan Hor 3) ubi kayu 4) Singapore laksa 5) beef rendang with 6) Hainanese fragrant rice 7) iced Milo 8) ice tea tarek. Excellent food that is worth the wait. The Wah Dan Hor , beef rendang, chicken rice, tea tarek and ubi kayu are authentic and great !

Super good . Stumbled upon chinatown and was looking for a good place to eat . This place didn't disappoint. There is a que to get in and patrons are pretty slow but I only waited maybe 5 min as I was alone so it was easier for me to get a table . You can order food via a barcode on the table which is cool, but I also like to engage with waitstaff, that's how I manage how much to tip . The nasi goreng was amazing , the wings were so crispy and good . I'll definitely be back when I'm in town.

Definitely just average overall. Service: We went during the holidays and the wait for the food was a bit long. Price to portion ratio was also just average. Food: we got the curry and roti. Had a good flavor but the meat was more bone than actual meat.

Once I picked it up I made the short walk (literally right around the corner) back to my hotel, so everything was still warm and nowhere near soggy from sitting in a to-go container too long. The pork burger was the winner here. It had good flavor and held up well for takeout. The beef noodles were solid but not quite as good. The beef itself was a bit dry, which took away from what should've been a juicier, more satisfying bite. Xi'an cuisine is known for its hand-pulled noodles and bold, spicy flavors, so I was hoping for a bit more richness on the beef component specifically. Overall, a decent quick bite. I'd go back and order the pork burger again, though I might branch out to something other than the beef noodles next time.

The potato sliver salad was like a thin sliced crunchy papaya salad. Great texture with a slight quick ferment flavor. But it was the Szechuan chilies that really set it apart. Yum!
