As expected, we had him back. This time for some upgrades to lighting in our basement rec room. He installed two recessed can lights in our finished ceiling withour a mark. Then we had him run some difficult wiring to install other recessed lighting in the rec room. It was tough, but he found a way to get the wiring where it needed to be. Finally, a ceiling fixture in the bedroom stopped working about 2 weeks ago. He had this problem diagnosed and fixed in 15 minutes. (It was in the ceiling attic wiring connection that had loosened due to expansion/contraction over the years. Jack came out and promptly gave us an estimate, and they were able to get us in quickly. The work was done to a high level of quality and the area was left clean at the end of each work day. We had several estimates done by several electricians before having the work done. Arnold was not the least expensive by any means, but their professionalism was heads and shoulders above the rest. I needed a straight-forward job done (hanging a couple outside lights) which I figured would be time and material. Instead I paid $87 for a sales job that included four different quotes for things I didn't need and a ridiculously high quote for the work I did need. We purchased 3 ceiling fans 1 for each bedroom. In addition, we were replacing 4 can lights in our family room with new led cans. I scheduled Arnold Electric Services with an understanding we could afford 2 hours of labor for this job. To my surprise, the Arnold Electric crew arrived as scheduled and after inspecting fans and cans, we were informed they would get started immediately and try to get at least all the fans installed. Great service! I emailed less than a week ago for an appointment, and they had a service call available within a few days. I needed an electrical outlet installed outside my house, and our electrician, Nick Mass was on time, super helpful, and completed the work very quickly. He also did a detailed inspection to ensure that we were up to code and safe, and found a few things that we could improve on. Lied to, mansplained to, overcharged for unnecessary work. I live in a vintage building and my entire condo was on 2 breakers. I wanted my electric updated so that my rooms were on separate breakers. I also wanted my outdated fuse box for my water heater updated to a breaker. Arnold promised it could deliver. I called after I got my quote to confirm. Arnold replaced my fuses - it didn't replace the fuse box with a breaker. Arnold updated my panel - the electricians said my rooms were on separate circuits but bound together on the same breaker. Oops - they were wrong. New panel unnecessary. Arnold said it could change a bedroom outlet to a different breaker so I could at least run air conditioners in separate rooms at the same time. Oops - that would be too hard. Better to just install a new outlet. Oops - after cutting the hole for the outlet, they noticed the bricks under my unit were too difficult to drill through. They'd be happy to either leave me with a gaping hole in my wall or come back and finish it for another $1,000. What could I do? I paid up and they finished the work on the fourth trip out here & finally also installed the breaker for my water heater - which they agreed to do for no additional charge, since they had to finish wiring the new outlet anyway. Gee, thanks for finally doing (at least part) of your job! Even better, they cause a deep gouge in the woodwork in my kitchen when they moved my refrigerator to access an outlet. read more

Update: North Shore electric did my job plus hung an additional light for half of what Arnold electric had quoted me and less damage to my walls --they had better ideas for moving my switch than what Arnold had suggested. Original review: I had to contact this company three times to try to schedule an appointment after my quote. I mean following up again and again with the main office. My concern was finding an electrician on their staff that was a long-term employee -- Jack had told me when he gave me my quote that I could request an electrician that had been with them for a while. When I called back (repeatedly) to book that was not the case. Most of their electricians have been with them a year or less right now. I question why this company has so many new employees and for myself I am not willing to pay their competitive prices for employees without a long track record of quality work for Arnold electric. read more

Great service by Jack. Very responsive and very quick to action. I had to have some plumbing work done in my condo. The Plumber contacted Arnold Electric who came out and turned the job around very quickly and very professionally. About a week later, the power was out at my condo and I called Jack to come take a look at it for me. He came out and determined the power was simply off. Each time I have worked with the team they have solved our problems, gave great customer service and the prices were very fair. I was using another company to maintain our Kohler Generator but I hated dealing with them! Arnold Electric is a pleasure to work with, easy to schedule appointments, they show up on time, do great work and payment is very easy. We also used them to install an electrical box for our flood control system, there was a slight problem because the previous owners installed the outdoor lighting incorrectly and Jack personally came out and did the electrical work to make sure everything was to code and correct.
