Over the past 20 years I have filled my condo with the beautiful light pieces from Lightology. We appreciate their wide selection and the help of their consultants. Just today I was in the store to see if I could get about 8 small replacement bulbs from a 2016 bathroom remodel, installed in my light fixture. Not only did they have the compatible bulbs in stock, but they had a person on staff who is going to come to the condo to install them. It is a tricky job to replace these particular bulbs and I am so glad they have the expertise and availability to help me. Problem solved! read more

My husband and I own an architecture business designing high end residential in Montana. We have a trade account with Lightology and recently purchased a floor lamp from their Visual Comfort line. It was over $1,000; we wanted high quality. Unfortunately, the lamp was lightweight and cheaply made. We filed for a return and refund a month ago; they approved the return, yet have not sent a return label yet because "their systems are being updated". I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered a light fixture in April 2025--it's now October with no resolution. The original fixture arrived broken in June. A replacement was sent in July without notice--it also arrived broken, in even worse condition. I've provided photos and documentation at every step. I requested a refund in August due to the delays and disruption to our renovation timeline. Their last response was September 2nd--over a month of complete silence since then. Their packaging is inadequate--you could literally hear pieces rattling in the box upon delivery. The customer service rep initially responded but completely ghosted me when it came time to actually resolve the issue. Save yourself the headache and buy elsewhere. I ordered lights for my office. The packaging was impressive but one of the lights was in fact broken. Despite the fact that I was outside of the return window (for replacement or credit), the dedicated customer service team was able to assist. They took such care to ensure that we were happy with the products and transaction, highly recommend. Also...OPEN your boxes right away so you don't miss the easy refund/replace window. While they were incredibly helpful, had I done my part and opened the boxes straight away, I wouldn't have needed to go back & forth with their very capable team at all. read more

We bought a chandelier in October 2024 from the Lightology website. Unfortunately due to delayed construction on our renovation project we weren't able to hang it until March 2025. While reading the instructions on hanging the chandelier it became clear that the Chandelier height is 61.5" instead of the 54.75" as advertised on the Lightology website. The main body of the chandelier is 54.75" but you have to add a 4" rod and 2.75" canopy to that to get the total minimum height of the chandelier. Unfortunately the chandelier will not fit in our space at 61.5" I contacted Lightology to see if there was any way we could shorten the chandelier which we discovered was not possible. I tried to return the chandelier since the height would not work for us and they refused to take back the chandelier since it's past their 60 day return policy. I explained that their website has the wrong dimensions on it but they still refuse to take it back. They insist their dimensions are correct at 54.75" even though that does not include the needed 4" rod and 2.75" canopy. I understand we are past their 60 day return policy window but I feel this company should make an exception since their website has erroneous height information which caused us to order the chandelier even though it would not fit in our space. We would not have ordered it if it had the correct height in their dimensions. I have been going back and forth with them since March trying to see if we could shorten it or return it. Abhorrent customer service and hidden language in return policy. I rarely write reviews but I don't recall the last time I encountered such terrible customer service and such a poor return policy. We ordered two lights totaling over $1000. The very top of their return policy states you can return an item within 60 days for any reason, including that it does not fit your style or design. Buried deep within the pages of return policy language, far below the initial policy language is language stating that any damage must be reported within 72 hours or it is not covered. Called customer service and they told me I was out of luck and that they would "try" to contact the manufacturer for a replacement part but wouldn't take the light back or refund me. Even if the manufacturer sends me a replacement for the damaged part they won't accept a return. To make matters worse, they have yet to send me a return label for the product that arrived undamaged! That is a direct violation of their own 60 day return policy for undamaged goods. Avoid this company at all costs. I have half a mind to take them to Illinois Small Claims Court just to force some level of accountability. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Lightology. I purchased a ceiling light directly from their website, which clearly stated at the time that the item was in stock and returnable. After receiving the product, I realized it wasn't going to work for our renovation project. I contacted Lightology right away to initiate a return. After several weeks of calling and waiting just to get a return label, I was told the item didn't qualify for a return because it came from one of their vendors. This was never made clear at the time of purchase. Even worse, the website has since been updated, and now the same item is listed at half the price and marked non-returnable. That's completely misleading and feels dishonest. I didn't buy this item from a third-party vendor--I bought it from Lightology. They should take full responsibility for the products sold through their platform. My wife and I were genuinely excited about renovating our office and replacing the old light fixture, but this experience completely soured the process. Customer service was slow, unhelpful, and ultimately left us with a product we can't use and a bad taste in our mouths. With the assistance of an excellent sales associate we ordered a $1300 desk lamp that had a free restocking fee. We also ordered a pack of bulbs for it. The lamp arrived to our home but it did not fit in the two places we thought it could go. The lamp was fine and of good quality, but not the right one for us. There were no return instruction in the box and we took it back to the showroom. The sales associates accepted the lamp and said that the returns department would take care of the refund. We had a great deal of difficulty with the returns process due to some internal miscommunication on the part of the returns department. It took over a month to get a refund, and several calls and e-mails in between. We never got a refund for the light bulbs or the restocking fee. After so many delays, lack of communication, and disappointment with the company, the extra money we were owed wasn't worth further contact with anyone. The lamp selection at Lightology is very good but be sure that you understand how to return a product before you buy. Our experience was poor enough that we won't return. read more

We have been trying to get a refund from Lightology for months now as they sold us a defective light fixture. The receptacle does not fit the bulbs both Lightology and the manufacturer (Foscarini) claim are suitable (118mm halogen). The fit is not even close. We were able to force in a 114mm bulb. Unfortunately, the only bulb in this length is made for European voltage (230v) and gives no light with US voltage (110v). If the fixture was actually not defective, we would have no issue. It looks great and we paid an electrician to install it. It simply does not provide light because no bulbs fit. Now we are out the cost of the fixture and the electricians fee to install and uninstall this worthless light not to mention almost $100 we spent on bulbs from every manufacturer of 118mm. Not one of these bulbs came close to fitting. The entire process has entailed endless correspondence with Lightology and Foscarini wasting our time as they continue to claim 118mm bulbs will fit. They simply will not take responsibility. I would recommend against buying anything from Lightology or Foscarini. They do not stand behind the products they sell. read more

I just have had the most wonderful experience with Lightology"s representative Carson Van Wassenhove. I have the Leucos Ether and am looking into converting to LED technology. I spoke with Carson on the phone and he was most helpful and patient with all of my questions. We continued our communication via email where Carson followed up with his contacting the representative at Leucos. This was a complicated situation and Carson truly went above and beyond in terms of his investigating the solution. Ordered a Light, it did not work upon arrival, contacted them and they said they had to work contact the manufacture. waited 20 days and called them back, they said they were sending parts and we needed to hire an electician to fix the light......they said its standard in the lighting industry. So I buy a product and it does not work so I have to hire someone to fix it. I had a disappointing experience with this company. The customer service was exceptionally poor, particularly with a woman named Shelly, who was notably rude and unhelpful. Their return policy is also highly restrictive, making it nearly impossible to return or exchange items. I came in with issue with order and no solve. They are trying to charge me 50% restocking fee. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. I mean it's just absolutely absurd how bad they are. I spent over $10k with them and they sent the wrong items and I've spent the last month trying to get things sorted with them and they operate as slow as molasses. I've told them that I have a major surgery coming up next week and that I'll be out of commission after that for some time, but that doesn't seem to having hurried them along whatsoever. They tell you they're going to call you back and never call back. They send you emails, they request things, but if you email back asking for an update, they will never respond. Just avoid them. Everything they sell can be bought elsewhere with likely better customer service. The claims team has been trying to resolve this for 60. They've been glacially slow at responding and following up. They have been less than useless; they've been a downright hindrance. I ordered these items from you, not the manufacturer. It's your responsibility to ensure that I either get the items I order, or that the wrong item are taken back and I'm reimbursed. You're team of Liv, Sandra, Fahmia et al have kept me hanging for two entire months. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and they closed it because you guys told them on Mar 13th that you were waiting to receive the merchandise back, the merchandise you received back on the 5th of March. So you lied to Amex and just prolonged this ordeal. These lights were supposed to be sent back to Axolight, this is what the person at Axolight told me, the person handling this case. They had no idea as to why they weren't returned to them when they specifically asked them to be. The level of incompetence and apathy is just out of this world. I'm out $10k, Lightology has the lights back, hasn't sent the back to the manufacturer, lied to American Express about refunding me when they have the items back (they have them for 15 days). No response. I called. Voice mail and no response. I called again and someone told me, "Yeah, that happens with halogen bulbs." And, "we don't do service." Terrible customer service with zero help, solution and suggestion. I sent Lightology pictures of my existing light fixture because the LED module was burned out. I told them from the very beginning that I didn't purchase the light fixture at Lightology. After waiting for almost a week, they finally got back to me and told me that there isn't much they can do because I didn't purchase through them. Well, they could have told me right away when I called, or if they are good at customer service, they would have suggested other light fixtures to replace my existing one. So far so good! I placed an order for a few lamps because sometimes I feel like I've living in a cave. They were having a pretty good sale, and I love that for me, so I went for a couple for the living room and one for the bedroom (probably). Though Lightology is here in Chicago, I ordered them for delivery and they were sent directly from the manufacturer or the warehouse they use. I placed my order October 2, 2021, and a few days later got an email letting me know that the anticipated delivery date was November 30 (looks like I selected some popular items!). To my surprise, they arrived November 9. What actually happened is that I bought two of one type of lamp by accident. Whoops! But I can use them, so maybe it was an unconscious slip of the finger. These were easy to put together; 5-10 minutes each, and that's including getting them out of the box. They look really nice, and the light has made a big difference in my home. I'll be honest; I started this review when I placed my order back in October, but left it incomplete so that I could finish after I'd received my lamps. I just had a feeling there would be problems, and I'd have to deal with customer service that may or may not be a good experience, so I figured I'd wait since I might need to update a review. Well, I did have a problem--the lampshade for one of the lamps was dented in the box. I emailed them immediately, and within a day a representative had contacted me to let me know she was contacting the company to see about a replacement shade. Within another day, Julie told me that the lamp manufacturer was going to send me a new shade, and that I could toss the old one because they would not need it. While I won't get rid of it until the new one comes, I'm really pleased that they resolved this issue immediately. They mention a three-day timeframe for reporting issues in order to get replacement parts, and I think I may have been at day 3.5 or 4, so I was really worried they'd tell me to take a hike.
