The Arnot Mall was a discovery on my way home, and was a bit out of my way, but made it worth it anyway for time's sake. What comes out at you is seeing the interior, clean and all, but filled with empty stores and dark with some of the lighting being off. Usually in those situations, their trying to save money by cutting down on electricity, which is no issue, but as long nobody gets hurt in the dark areas. It was pretty easy to navigate the mall, as I didn't need to look at the map for the most part - only two main hallways which makes it extremely convenient to not get lost. Some businesses I found here caught me by surprise and remained open still such as JCPenney, Ruby Tuesday, Burlington, and FYE. As long as they are still thriving, that's what matters. There were no signs indicating that were closing soon, and most of the inventory looked in great shape. The majority of the other stores seemed to be doing okay on my visit, none of which I saw were closing soon. Depending on each store, some looked busier than others, which didn't come as a surprise for the most part, but the time of the day and year plays a role in it as well. The food court looked okay, with some open and closed as well, and looks good for the most part. It's not the prettiest-looking place that's eye appealing, but is clean and kept up which matters the most. They had decent choices to offer just by looking. The movie theater is still open and running which is great to see. Overall, the mall I believe falls in the dead category. Although some sections of the mall are dead, others are alive and filled with shoppers. It looks like it depends on the area. Even though that is now, that could change in no time. read more

It's a little spooky here, and smells funny. But they do have great pretzels! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Parking lot is poorly lit and full of potholes. Handicap parking signs have been painted over solid blue near ruby tuesdays. WTH?

Wow, don't waste your time. Stores are always closing! And the parking lot is full of pot holes. Save yourself the disappointment and drive somewhere....anywhere but here. read more

The aesthetics of the mall, and layout were the reasoning beyond the 4 star review. I was in town this past Saturday, and decided to take the short drive from Corning Museum of Glass, where I was picking something up. The stores open, I would have given probably a 3 star rating, as they had some. What attract me originally to the mall, was the Ruby Tuesday, which ended up being over priced, in my opinion from looking at the menu; and you know its not good food. When the waitress... tells you I don't know what's good, I've never eaten anything from here... That was a red flag for me for sure. As other reviewers wrote, it is mainly a ghost town, and I'm sure was a thriving mall for the area pre-pandemic days, and awhile ago. It was nice to see JC Penny, Olympia, Burlington Coat Factory, and a few other stores located through out.. though a good portion were empty, not un common anymore these days. The Food Court/Regal/ arcade concept on the second floor of the mall was a neat. Though, I must admit, if your not a local and a fan of mall food courts, this isn't the mall for that. There were two selections a chinese place and a pizza place. The pizza place, may have had good food, but when you don't see any prices listed by the food, be ware. Overall, great place to mall walk for exercise, or stop at a few stores. read more

I drove over an hour to get to Ithaca shopping mall and it was such a huge disappointment. Somebody recommended arnot mall yay that's kind of on the way home so I went there drove all the way around and looked at just disappointing. Although I did not get out and walk around that mall, I did at the Ithaca mall. I had to go shopping at Sam's Club. Just so all the driving wouldn't be a complete waste next time. I'll drive the 2 to 3 hours to the Eastview mall in Victor New York at least it still seems to be thriving. read more

Depending on where you enter the mall, you may think that it is going out of business. There is alot of stores that are no longer here and you see alot of empty stores. But Walk a bit more and you see a ton of stores and people. There is also a movie theater on the second floor as well as the food court. read more

I understand that this mall is really in the middle of a great big barren valley but why does that have to translate into the interior? What do I mean by that? The problem I have with the Arnot Mall is that they have a lot of space that isn't really being used to its advantage. Their doesn't appear to be that many places in Horseheads to do shopping so why not put more stores in here? For every few stores I saw, their were empty ones that soon followed. It's an omen that retail is dying...rapidly. I didn't find anything that made me want to stay at Arnot for more then a few minutes. Their were really no unique stores that tailored to my interest and the only department stores the mall had felt limited in what they carried. More needs to be done to Arnot to bring it up a few notches so it can get more foot traffic. On the plus side, it's a clean mall and is a good size (that should be filled with stores) and has the basic necessities that a mall needs to function. However, it doesn't have enough stores to keep me visiting and is certainly not worth the stop when traveling down the interstate. read more

I was in town because the rescue I volunteer for needed help brining some dogs to the local SPCA for their spays/neuters. To kill time me and the other volunteers spent some time in the area. When you have a group of women, shopping is a must. But maybe not here. It is a ghost town. There are barely any shops and the ones that are there are not that appealing to go into. It was clean though so that was a plus! read more

The Arnot Mall is the largest in the area (unless you're willing to drive to Binghamton, Syracuse, or Rochester). There is ample parking, and a decent selection of stores ranging the gamut of fashion, electronics, department stores, and specialty stores. The whole mall is on one level, but there is a section toward the back (the "new mall", if I understand the history) which requires walking up a few stairs or a gentle ramp. And if the mall doesn't have what you need, it is a short skip and a jump to the other basics of American consumerism - Wal-Mart, Target, Staples, Kohls, etc. It's not a shopping Mecca, but it more than fills the need unless you're looking for something very high-end or something very specific. read more

Well. It's a mall? If you live in the Valley, there aren't a whole lot of places that resemble a mall closer than the Arnot Mall, so chances are you grew up going to this one like I did. The mall is an indoor, single story mall that features a Regal Cinema, food court, arcade, and a multitude of shops. There are mostly low / middle end stores, which is appropriate for the general area demographics. As a lower middle class kid I always liked coming here because most of the stores featured things I could ask for for my birthday or Christmas. It was also the closest Electronics Boutique (now GameStop) and I remember buying all sorts of older Nintendo games here, so it has some sentimental value in my memories at least. It also used to have some sweet stores with animal figurines and books, although I'm not sure it still exists. Some of the stores that you'd expect to see in a mall these days like an Apple Store aren't here, so be sure to check the Store Directory if you have your eye on something specific. When I came home for Christmas we came here to go see Frozen and the mall is basically what I remember it to be. I will say though that the mall is overrun by teenagers without their parents, not that it's a bad thing, but you get that kind of "teenage rebellion" feeling. The mall is always busy, and packed more than larger malls because as I mentioned earlier this is pretty much the only mall in the area to go to if you're not looking for an hour-ish+ drive. Could also have been more busy as it was the day after Christmas. That probably didn't help. I don't really have anything bad to say for the Arnot Mall since it's a place we used to go often and it still seems to serve that purpose for the area. It's not a five star mall and I'm sure you can do better if you drive a bit, but when you just want to enjoy the convenience of a mall within 30 minutes of the Valley, the Arnot Mall does just fine. read more

This place I will not be returning to ever again, I have shopped here over 10 years. Over half the stores are vacant, you have to walk a awhile to even find a store that's not gone out of business. One end is nearly abandoned with water leaking threw the ceiling. Then the shops that are "vacant?" Have trash strewn all over the floor. I swear I heard rats. read more

You need to post on your web sight the Mall opens at 10 oc but the stores don't open until 11 o'clock or later. Very mad when I went there to exchange things and found that out. Honestly if this was 1988 instead of 2018 this mall would get 5 stars. All of the shops that made this Mall what it was (Waldenbooks,B. Dalton,Mayers,Kaybee etc.) have gone to Mall Heaven and if FYE and Gamestop ever go they can ship this proverbial old horse straight to the glue factory. I have not set foot in this mall in 4 years and from what I've heard about unruly degenerates from mall employees and customers oxen and wainwright would not bring me back there but I'll always have fond memories of this monument to consumerism in it's prime. read more

Really bad..... A lot of empty storefronts and only Sears, JcPenney, and Bon Ton as anchor stores. The Bon Ton is sparsely populated with cheap-looking clothing and looks like it's going out of business soon. Rows and rows of awful no-name stores like "Paradise Hair World" and weird furniture stores. I was here on a Sunday afternoon, and there were hardly any people in the mall, except for some sketchy characters sitting on the benches and ogling women as they walked by. This mall definitely sketched me out. Growing up in Ithaca, I remember it being a lot nicer and better as a kid. It has fallen into a similar fate as the Pyramid Mall (Shops at Ithaca). I've shopped here and I have to say, the available merchandise in this mall is awesome. For one, the Macy's had more of a selection of clothes than any of the other local Macy's stores that I shop at. I really enjoyed the scenery in this mall. I went during the holiday time and the decorations were so cute! Defintely a family shopping mall. I will definetely want to return soon! read more

I stopped at Regis in the Arnot Mall on 03/17/2017 to see if I could get a haircut. It was about 10:15 Am. They told me they had no opening until 11:15 to come back then. There were two women working there. No customers at all in any of the chairs or waiting. They are supposed to take walk-ins. This was not the case, I could see if they were busy turning a person away for an hour. But it was totally ridiculous there was not even one customer in their shop. So I went to another place in the Mall, Master Cuts and they took me right in and did an excellent job. What is wrong with Regis? This is a great way to lose customers, turn them away when your not busy! read more

It's really no wonder why this mall gets little to no business. Walking through at 830 and half the stores are closed or are closing and clearly want no business (two separate stores were vacuuming when we walked by!). It's just completely apparent why every other store front is empty and why Macy's is leaving. read more
