Aroma D' Café Bakery is a cozy (read small) Argentinian (Argentine?) bakery on Kinderkamack Rd and I had been eyeing this place for coffee since I was in the area for a short time (I prefer to patronize the small mom & pop coffee shops where I can). I walked in and there was a short line so I had a little time to explore baked goods. I ordered an iced mocha, a beef empanada, and a few extra baked goods to go. Great café on a main road. Good coffee, delicious pastries. I love their chocolate chip cookies. However, only when they are freshly made. The croissants and danishes have a sweet but not overpowering glaze on them which makes them unique. They are good and taste fresh. They also sells cakes and pies here. From small personal sizes to medium and large which you need to order in advance. I ordered a large dulce de leche filled cake for Christmas and my family loved it. The small sizes only have dulce de leche in them but the larger sizes have dulce de leche and fruit inside. I prefer just dulce de leche but my family loved it nonetheless. They also sell artisanal frozen yogurt/ice cream which always looks so fresh. It has great flavor. The muffins are pretty big and those are good as well. The empanadas are traditional Argentinian made empanadas. These I did not like as much but I usually return for the chocolate chip cookies or croissants. read more

Aroma D' has the best pastries and coffee and so reasonably priced. I got their Argentinian cake for my sons birthday and everyone loved it. Even my mom who dislikes cakes said this was delicious. The whole cake got finished since some even went for seconds. I always make multiple stops here when I'm in Jersey. Last time I was there (last week) the young guy working there was very helpful and had a nice chat with me as well. The place itself is on the small side and nothing to write home about but it's still quaint and cute like a mom and pop bakery should be. read more

Last minute in Mother's Day, Mom decides against her go-to holiday breakfast and wants a cheese danish. There being not one bakery in our town, I hit up Google and found this little gem of a place. It is an adorable cozy little place with cute outdoor tables to sit and enjoy a snack or light lunch. I bought pastries and empanadas to go, which were scrumptious! The gentleman behind the counter was doing double duty as waiter, but remained friendly and helpful while he was clearly pushing himself to keep everyone happy. He absolutely succeeded! The traditional Messi (that's just me being funny) ham and cheese croissant is absolutely to die for. It's as good as a Boca Juniors extra time goal vs RiBer. OK OK I promise that's my last attempt at Argentinian humor. Seriously, this little Mendoza gem in downtown Oradell NEEDS your local support, because I need to be able to come back every year. Love! Got two coffees and was only $5! Outside there is really cute tables. I got almond milk in my coffee and there was no extra charge! I've had Aroma on my bookmarks for awhile and decided to give them a try. Cute little spot in Oradell with 3 tables. I ordered a ham & cheese croissant warmed up and 4 beef empanadas. This is by far the best ham & cheese croissant sandwich I've ever had! The croissant has a slight sweetness to it and pairs so well with the ham & cheese. Definitely satisfied my craving ::drool:: The beef empanadas though, I did not like. I've had Argentinian empanadas before from different places and I love them. Review for take out only. I'm a sucker for empanadas -- having grown up on the Eastern European version called "Pirozhky." Stuff some quality flaky pastry dough with sweet or savory concoctions -- and you have the original "Hot Pockets" -- first introduced in the US in 1983. With a kaleidoscope of cultural food traditions lurking on a main street in just about every town on the East and West Coast these days -- finding stuffed dough pockets -- especially empanadas -- is fairly easy. The trick for me is finding that perfect bite -- sort of like my decades long dumpling quest. Aroma's empanadas are baked -- not fried -- and the dough is a flaky butter pastry with a nice chew and flavor. Not greasy and these baby's are overstuffed with 4 versions of filling -- spinach, beef, chicken and ham and cheese. I found the spinach most to my liking -- savory and hearty -- the spinach perfectly cooked and not stringy -- and these pockets are BIG. One of them is a meal -- at a reasonable price point. The ham and cheese was decent -- plenty of both ingredients -- and they are very pleasantly melted together. OTOH, I found the chicken and beef unpleasant and mealy -- both were under seasoned and dry and lacked that essential meaty quality. We tried a sampling of their sweets and signature bread. The "dulce de leche" croissant was excellent -- just the right amount of sweetness with a caramel filling that you want to eat by the spoonful. Get this! The same style croissant -- but stuffed with a boston creme like custard was less to my liking -- sloppy and not as inspired. The merengue cake was pleasant -- but was mostly meringue and powdered sugar. Though texturally pleasant -- almost macaron-like -- one cloying dose of the overwhelming sweetness is enough. And the bread -- though nicely textured -- was flavorless except for a yeasty after-taste. I ate it straight and toasted -- with and without toppings -- neither was appealing. The staff is friendly (Victoria in particular) and the set-up is cute and welcoming. Nice place for a quick repast when in the area. Next trip we will stop in for coffee and breakfast -- and update the review with other "tries" from the menu. TBC read more

What a hidden treasure! We used Door Dash for delivery and got an assortment of things, and the portions were generous and everything was reasonably priced. Their Milanesa sandwich was savory and fresh, as were their empanadas--so perfectly flaky, stuffed and baked, which I love since they're not greasy like other places. Their baked goods and pastries were divine, especially their alfajore--decadent without being overly sweet. I am so glad I found this place! This is my Saturday spot to go to for a cup of cappuccino and a beef empanada. Prices are awesome and they have a good selection of desserts and some mini cakes to pick from. Street parking only but usually there's parking right in front. I definitely recommend the empanadas and the ham croissant with cheese! read more

A petite jewel of a bakery and coffee house in Oradell New Jersey. We visited Aroma D'Cafe on a quiet cold Friday night. We were immediately greeted by the owner Veronica and her assistant Brittany. The front of this charming shop has display cases filled with beautifully created,colorful pastries and cakes. We were totally impressed with Veronica's cookies, cakes, breads, coffee, teas, and empanadas. Aromas ingredients are pure, vegan and totally delicious. In the past 8 months since Veronica and her partner took over their small retail space, their business has grown dramatically. In the beginning the shop was dominated by catering for events and parties. As her Word of mouth referrals grew, her walk in business grew as well. Aroma D'Cafe is a business built on the love, passion and talent of Argentina's Gift to Oradell,NJ ..Veronica.
