    Cuban sandwich
    Kathy G.

Stopped into the food hall and decided to try the cuban food. Our group ordered a chicken bowl, cuban sandwich and empanada. We were all happy with the flavors and food options. Loved the green sauce.

One of the best Cuban Sandwiches I've ever had. The bread is perfectly crispy, the aioli is great but it doesn't even need it. The pork is fluffy and well seasoned. Can't wait to have another one. Very easy access to I-95.

On a recent visit to Selma, NC, we stopped into the Old Northstate Food Hall. I had looked up information on local eateries and knew we had to hit up Aroma De Cuba. I love a good Cuban Sandwich and saw there were a variety of choices on the menu. I ordered the Revolution which was mojo marinated pork, honey ham, Gouda cheese, chorizo topped with cilantro aioli, and Cuban Fries. I have to be honest re: the fries. I'm not quite sure why they were referred to as Cuban Fries as they seemed to just have some salt, pepper and garlic powder on them, HOWEVER, with that being said, they were tasty and cooked to perfection. The sandwich was great as well. The bread was perfectly toasted and crispy, flaky and fresh, just like you want your bread to be when having a Cuban sandwich. The flavors were balanced and I enjoyed the sandwich. The service was a tad slow. We did get there before the lunch crowd arrived and we assumed it wouldn't take long for the food to be made. There were no orders ahead of us and it was just three of us in our party. Was the wait for the food worth it? Yes.

The Revolution sandwich was over the top delicious! The bread makes the sandwich for sure. So good. Glad we stopped here.

The food is great and authentic. I really loved it. Who would have known that you can find Cuban food this good in Clayton NC.

Yes, Cuban food! Awesome! Will definitely be coming back! Now that's healthy eating! Not your typical Johnston County King of fast food!

Two things I want to highlight about my visit here on 7/17…read more First, we arrived very late after my sons' performance for the town in 100 degree heat. We were both overheated and hungry. The dining room was closed but, after speaking to the workers and manager, they let us stay and gave us great service. Most restaurants probably would not have accommodate us and we were grateful for the hospitality. Second, the pizza was fantastic. We got a large with half sausage and it looked and tasted like the pizza I grew up on in NJ. I look forward to going back and trying more offerings in the future.

The rather generic interior seemed like it had been remodeled not too long ago. The restaurant was moderately noisy, but we were able to speak without raising our voices. For some reason we both ended up ordering spaghetti with meat sauce but when our meals arrived we both received spaghetti with meat balls. Instead of just replacing our meals, the server provided two bowls of meat sauce that we spooned over the tomato sauce. It was OK at best, but honestly I've had much worse. My spaghetti was too al dente for my taste, but it wasn't underdone enough to send back. Our meal came with a delicious garlic knot which had clearly come hot out of the oven. We split a "brownie delight" for dessert, which came out as a brownie on a plate along with a bowl of vanilla ice cream. If the brownie had been warm, it would have been very nice, but as served it was OK at best. Our server kept our drinks topped off, but between serving us the wrong meal, and then not replacing it, the service also gets an OK at best too. All in all, Venero's rates an OK at best. We won't be in a rush to return any time soon.

Lovely and cute bistro with lots of boba and drink options!…read more I live right across the street, so the location is perfect for me. This bistro is located in the same shopping center as the Food Lion and Hwy 55. There aren't a lot of parking spots right in front of Boba Beans, but there's plenty right on the other side near Food Lion. This is a great place to grab and go or stay for a while. I've come a few times to work while waiting for my car inspection next door or when I just needed to get out of the house since I work from home. There are plenty of tables and chairs throughout and even some couches if you'd like something more comfortable. I don't like tea or coffee much, so I can't give a review on those, but they have a Citrus Refresher with boba that is absolutely delicious! I always get that when I go. They've recently changed their food menu a bit, so I'm not sure what is best, but I've also always enjoyed the food there as well. It's made fresh to order in-house. My favorite thing about Boba Beans is that they have staff of ALL abilities. I absolutely love seeing how the staff provides opportunities for people with a variety of disabilities. That's what made me fall in love with it! Not a lot of establishments will give people a chance, but it's great to see this happening here! Highly recommend it if you're in the area!

The parking situation is interesting, there are a few spots behind/besides the building, curb parking in front, and then a dirt area that it doesn't look like you can park in, but people do. The food is consistently good. I've had their salads, sandwiches, pizza and a few dinner specials. They also usually have several seasonal cocktails. Inside, you seat yourself and someone greets you quickly. Outside, I think they want you to make contact with a server first, and then sit down. Everyone I've encountered here has been very nice and service is quick. I make a point to stop in when in the area.
