I have genuinely never had an experience like this at a nail salon. During my appointment, I was…read moreaccidentally sprayed/soaked with water not once, but TWICE because of the pedicure equipment being faced the wrong direction. I was completely soaked--my sweatshirt and shorts were wet, and I was literally sitting in a puddle of water. To make matters worse, my soda was dropped into the pedicure foot bowl, and after everything that happened, they still expected me to pay full price. I had to ask if there was going to be a discount for my experience and best they could do was $10 off..... The entire appointment also took almost 2.5 hours just to complete my pedicure and full set, which made an already frustrating experience even worse. Accidents happen, and I'm normally very understanding and I was beyond kind my whole appointment, but being soaked twice, having my drink dropped into the foot bath, sitting in wet clothes and a puddle for the remainder of the appointment, and then still being expected to pay full price was unacceptable. I am new to this process and still developing an eye for what the finished product should look like. My tech was so personally and nice that I forgot to check the quality befor I left. The pinky of one nail needed another coat compared to the other one. One of my thumbs had dents from the UV machine-I think when it went in I didn't realize it scraped the edge. Another nail had a hump towards the nail bed and dipped mid nail. The first time I had them done I was in St Louis and the technique was quite different. When the tech dipped the nail, her next step was to tap the powder off by tapping my finger in a side ways motion. My first experience was that the excess powder was removed with a kabuki brush. Instead of spraying my hands with a solution like this tech did after my last application, I washed my hands. This is to remove any residual product. I was charged $5 to remove the previous nails. The only questionable instance was when one mail did not nudge after 30 min soaking. Instead of applying more acetone and letting it soak; she pulled off the thick nail residue. My daughter warned me that this ruins your natural nail. The gel pedicure and dipped manicure took nearly two hours. I will return the next day to see how it will go to fix my nails. The policy is within one week. The original tech wasn't there but after waiting a few minutes another tech repaired my nails quickly. The tech was pleasant and polite. When I went on a Sat there was only 2 other people there. I did call ahead for an appt. I will say that this is the first nail salon that I have been to outside of Aveda that actually asks how do you want your toe nails to be shaped. I find this so frustrating and 99% of all nail shops that they don't bothers ask and you don't feel like you can ask. Detected a great job forming my nails in the rounded shape.
