What an amazing restaurant and owners/ workers! My friends and I came in after a night of skiing and were welcomed with love and incredible food. We were seated and were given some crisps for the tables (not sure the name) and they even brought me some gluten free ones! This was my first time ever having Indian and the staff were incredibly helpful. I had Paneer Tikka Masala and WOW, it was delicious. The taste, texture and spice level was the best. Everyone was very happy with their meal. After the meal we sat and chatted with the staff and we discussed their food and culture. It was a beautiful experience. Yum! read more

I was out of ideas on what to eat and happened to drive past this spot--something about it made me do a U-turn and check it out. It's a small, family-owned restaurant, and I believe the mom is the one cooking in the kitchen, which instantly gave it a warm, homemade vibe. I ordered the mixed vegetable curry and asked for it to be spicy--not realizing that "spicy" here really means spicy! It had a bold kick, but the flavors were rich and satisfying. The naan was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect side to scoop up the curry. The rice was light and fluffy, complementing the dish beautifully. Service could be a bit more attentive--it took a while for the staff to take my order and again when I was ready to pay--but the food made up for it. Best Indian restaurant in the Burlington, VT area - we stop in for dinner, lunch, or chai whenever in the area. Yogi and Sarita are great hosts, and the restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere and nice decor - it's a real asset for the region. On the cold Vermont day, don't miss the chai with pakoras or paneer tikka. There have been a few standout restaurants and this restaurant Aromas of India, under the careful ' manage by walking around' style of Yogi, is one of them. Rather than me recite the different foods that I've had there that I've loved, I'm just gonna let you go with my recommendation, and discover for yourselves your own favorites at this wonderful, colorful, cheerful nicely, decorated, and very popular vegetarian Indian restaurant. And don't forget to have the Ross Mai cake for dessert, so leave some room and bring home some leftovers because they won't last long in the refrigerator because you're gonna circle around and eat the leftovers in short order Trust me. As far as Indian cuisine goes this is my new favorite place. I had the Saag paneer and it was amazing. Great flavor, amazing texture, all around fantastic. The only thing that is a negative is that this restaurant isn't closer to me and I'll only get to visit during work trips. I be remiss if I didn't add that I sat at the bar and the owner was serving. We came here on Christmas because our pup was getting surgery impromptu and stopped in for takeout. Didn't expect much since we're not accustomed to Vermont Indian food being from NC. But my Lord, this was the best I've ever had. Lord knows this place is the spot. Some might say, the bees knees, the cream of the crop, the cherry on the pie. Aromas of India is an all-around great restaurant, and my go-to for when I'm in the Burlington area. The menu has a multitude of options-- all vegetarian and all very delicious. Their naan is wonderful and the appetizer choices are really good (I like the sampler platter, which has a bit of everything.) There are many entree choices, including daal, paneer tikka masala, and much much more. I've found the food runs a bit spicy, so if you aren't as into spice or aren't used to it, maybe try the milder option when ordering entrees. As for the general ambience, the restaurant is very nice inside and has a good location in a shopping area with easy parking. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The service is fast and the workers are very friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! read more

I ordered take out of a few items on 9/22 for my first visit to Aroma. I ordered through clover which was easy to do online before they opened and schedule ahead for a pick up time. My order consistent of assorted pakora, vegetable cutlets, garlic naan, and paneer butter masala (medium heat). Everything was delicious and still hot when I got home! I'd never had vegetable cutlets before and they were delicious. The butter masala was spicy at a medium but nothing outrageous, it did have me eating slowly. On a 1 to 5 scale for spice I would say their medium was on the upper end at a 3/4. As I was leaving they forgot the tamarind sauce and even ran it out to me before I drove away. Very pleased with the food and will go back. Don't mind the picture of my terrible plating. It was delicious. read more

This was one of the most incredible Indian restaurant experiences I've had. Being a lifelong vegetarian, I found this restaurant to have so many options. It is such a relief when you can literally look through the entire menu and choose from anything. Not only were the options plentiful, but when the food came out, it was steaming hot, clearly cooked on order from the two of us. The food was the perfect amount of spicy, Rich, Indian flavors that you would expect, and the garlic naan bread was to die for. Great service from the owner.
