This year there were alot more people in attendance then last year! If you have not done so, you must attend because it is so much Fun! From the main attraction of Indy Car races as well as drifting, truck jumping, porche racing, car shows and drinks. I guarantee you will have a good time at the races. Surrounding restaurants make it worth while. Djs playing all day turning up the vibe, there is nothing to ask for. At the end of the day, you get treated to a free concert! Lupe FIASCo happen to perform that evening. It was awesome! Overall, I recommend this event for all ages. For children at opening to 5pm. After 5pm, it gets rowdy with the concert and the drifting. Uber or Lyft is recommended.

We found a $12 lot about a 10 minute walk away, which was a great deal but surprisingly, navigation apps showed completely inaccurate walking times, so asking people nearby was much more reliable. Confusing Layout and Poor Directions Once inside, things quickly became frustrating. We entered through one side and were told the event had already ended, even though we had arrived two hours before the end time. Multiple employees kept redirecting us to different areas, and no one seemed to know where the racing was actually happening. Unhelpful and Rude Staff We asked around 15-20 staff members, including security and event workers, and most either didn't know or gave conflicting directions. One staff member was outright rude and dismissive, telling us it was too late and trying to sell us tickets for another day instead of helping us figure things out. Overcrowded and Disorganized The event felt extremely crowded and chaotic. There were large groups of people everywhere, a concert happening at the same time, and no clear guidance on where to go for specific activities. We spent nearly two hours just walking in circles trying to find the races. High Prices Everywhere Food and drinks inside were very expensive, which is expected at big events, but even vendors outside and nearby street food stands were charging unusually high prices. Atmosphere and Crowd The vibe was energetic and lively, with a mix of all ages, from babies to adults. It felt like a big, exciting event, but also very loud and overwhelming at times. Overall Experience Unfortunately, we never got to actually watch the races despite having tickets. Between the lack of clear directions, unhelpful staff, and overcrowding, the experience felt more frustrating than enjoyable.

Then a few laps in a bright colored supercar may be therapy you need! I purchased a Groupon for the final cost of $50, good for the Supercar Autocross Challenge. The cost for this is listed as "starting at $249" on their website. Going the Groupon route I was able to cut the price in half off the $99 that was advertised on Groupon through a promotional discount, Groupon Bucks promotion, and finally Ebates/Rakuten cash back. Pro tip: always use Rakuten for cashback whenever buying a Groupon! LTF staff was helpful and friendly throughout the entire process of setting up the reservation to the time of when I actually got behind the wheel. There were 3 tracks and 4 cars available that sunny Saturday in November at the Santa Anita Racetrack parking lot. The cars offered were a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Coupe, and Aventador, and a Chevy Corvette. All also had automatic transmissions. Each of the cars were designated only for one of the 3 tracks. This is one of the drawbacks - if you prefer a particular car, you have to go with the track that car is assigned to, and vice versa. Each of the tracks differ slightly in the length of their straightaways and tightness of turns, while overall length is more or less the same. I took the Gallardo Coupe around for 6 quick laps (a staff member sits next to you in the passenger seat) after one warm-up slower lap needed to get familiar with the course. This was some of the most fun I've had since I first got my driver's license! The aural and visual presence of these cars cannot be denied. There was an option to purchase more laps and also to upgrade to a "better" car for extra cost at the session. In this case the upgrade would have been from the Gallardo to the Aventador. All of the cars make for a perfect photo op, just as long as you don't take interior pictures. Their interiors showed obvious signs of wear and tear over many driving sessions. Make sure to bring some water, wear comfortable shoes and clothes, and to drive it like you stole it! That's what the staff would want anyway. Trust me! I asked one of them and he said none of the driving he's witnessed as a passenger has remotely even made him nervous or scared.

The more I look into it, the more convinced that I was able to afford the tickets! I found $90 on Groupon where one can drive six laps in an autocross challenge for 6 laps in a Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 Turbo, or FerrariF430. I bought my tickets for me and my dad 2 months prior and I was able to get an appointment for 30 mins at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Upon we arrived at the Park, they have a small tent outside with approximately 7 or 8 employees and driving instructors. On the day, we arrived at the Santa Anita Park about 45 mins earlier. Once we signed in, we were offered 4 different cars: a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo, a red Ferrari FF, a blue Ferrari F430, and a black Audi R8. Out of the 4 cars, we were told that only the R8 and the 430 was included in the voucher and if we wanted to drive the Gallardo or the FF then we would have to add an upgrade fee of $25. My dad decided to drive the R8 and I decided to go with the 430. They also told us that they can record you driving the car for $25 each person. (They put your driving recording on a USB drive and give it to you) My dad and I agreed and they said 2 people they will charge $40. We agreed on the deal. We wait was short for our rides and we were able to take pictures with all 4 cars if you wish. I took advantage of it and was able to get some pretty decent pictures. The workers there were also nice enough to take pictures for me and the cars at various angles. Now here's the tricky part. one of the workers approached me and ask me if I wanted to drive the FF instead. I declined to say that I would like to save money and drive the F430, which is still an amazing car. Now, one of the workers along with the instructor told me that as long as I give my instructor some tips then I can drive the FF. I agreed and hopped in the car for 6 laps. Once I returned to the tent, I was very satfised. However, when I asked them if I could get the USB recording. They then told me that they don't have a camera in the FF. That was the time when I felt like I was not told the entire things. Since I paid $20 for the video and it was $25 to upgrade. They basically use the video money that I paid as an upgrade fee. I was not too happy about that. Since we are on the negatives of LTF, I would also like to say LTF is not as responsible as I would like. I called the number found on their website and yelp multiple time the day before my appointment day to ask questions. EVERY single time I called, I went straight to voice mail. It was so frustrating!! The voicemail said that one of the representatives will return the call within 24 hours but I never got a callback. I understand that LTF adventure is not a huge corporation and they have limited employees. However, they need to step up with their customer service! I was a victim of an event scammer. Therefore, I get extremely cautious when a company has limited ways to contact them. There were no email reminder or such as well. To summarize, I had a positive experience with LTF overall. Mainly was due to their price. They were able to let me drive my dream car with a price that a college student can afford. The negative about LTF is their lack of customer experience on the phone. I did not talk about the driving experince becusae it was amazing and no commented needed. Whichever car you end up choosing, I am sure you will enogh your time with the exoitc car of your choice. That was a great deal considering the "day of" ticket prices were $30 for one day and $50 for two days. They did have an online option to save money by buying tix early and they did offer senior, military and children's discounts. We took the Metro Blue Line to Pico Station and walked about one block over. No rain today! The Classic Auto Show ran from March 2-4 and featured 1,000 cars on two different floors of the LA Convention Center. We missed the movie night with the Steve McQueen classic, 1968's "Bullitt". As soon as we walked in, we were immediately wowed by all the cool cars! Some of my favorites were: 1929 Chrysler Imperial Locke Body Roadster 1931 Marmon V16 Four Door Sedan - 1 of only 365 1931 Dusenberg SJ Murphy with Disappearing Top 1938 Citroen Dubonnet Hispano-Suiza H6B Xena - only ONE in existence! And then there was the Michael Jackson-themed, "Star Car" complete with side panel pictures of MJ's life (the normal parts) and a music soundtrack. Very cool. There were oddities like the Horny Trike and the Astromech Star Wars themed car with R2D2 installed in the back. There were also Airstreams, a few tricked out motorcycles, classic Mustangs galore and an event stage where there was an interview with a wrestler whose name I didn't catch going on. No, Kim T., it wasn't The Rock. The Back to the Future DeLorean was there and you could sit and take a photo for $10. The Austin Powers car was there too. This was a fun event for me as I hadn't been to a car show since before our daughters (ages 3 and 4) were born. We own two classic cars, so this event was right up my alley. My husband did not complain at all about seeing the same cars from SEMA, the L.A. Auto Show, the Petersen Museum, his Street Rodder & Hot Rod magazines, etc. Won't hear me complaining either. Any time I get to vote I do. Make sure to vote for your favorite car on Grand Boulevard. Children are allowed. Our kiddos were free, but still needed a ticket. There was a KidZone on the first floor. While it wasn't anything spectacular, it was still great for a necessary break for our girls. Plus they got to use their voting power on a kids' favorite car. I guess Dave Kindig was unable to make his slot time for an interview downstairs. We'll give him a break since it was raining that day (3/2/18). Instead we were happy to meet Dennis Gage (and that handlebar mustache) who filled in... nicest man. Autographs. Photos. Chatted for a while. Car gear heads in general are good people, though. TIPS - $20 parking in the LA Convention Center garage - 2018 had two floors of cars... use the escalators, stairs or elevators - if you watch Velocity, Discovery Channel or Speed Channel you'll see some of the cars they built on their shows here too I look forward to the next event as this one seems to be attracting more people and a broader showcase of all makes and models each time. They have a rough blueprint on what things will be needed in the 1/10 scale drift buyers guide. Some small things and left out like a power lead to charge your batteries, so make sure to ask for that. Overall I have never got bad customer service. It has been very short with answers so I just do my best to get to the point with what I need/ ask what they recommend

Took my son here for his first attempt at RC drift outside of his attempts at home with non-drift…read morecars and drifting in driving games. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. Almost all of the people there were male adults, but the atmosphere was welcoming and family-friendly, and sometimes female family members dropped by. My son rented an RC drift car with charged battery for $30. They said the battery may last about 45 minutes, but it ended up lasting an hour and a half! He then got a second battery for $10 and played another hour and a half. He had a great time! They have an impressive stock of cars and parts. There are two tracks--one for non-drift, and one for drift. The drift track was definitely the popular one with almost all customers there and only one or two at the other. Place was a little hard to find--no obvious signs, had to ask someone else. Entrance was at the corner of the building with subtle signage.

Took the beginners tig welding class with Bill yesterday. He's great and really knows his stuff…read more Does a great job of teaching. Lots of 1 on 1 time and having never welded anything before (I work in front of a computer all day), it helped me understand a lot quickly. He was always on it with guidance and what I can do to improve in real time as I'm welding (lifting too much, slow down, etc). Was absolutely a great experience and I will be taking his other classes once I can. He also gives great guidance on equipment, where to spend, options, gear, etc. Super helpful, very passionate. Great guy! If you're looking to learn how to weld, I'd absolutely recommend taking a class with him. Class sizes are kept really small so you get a ton of 1 on 1.

I have lived in Los Angeles for…read moreabout 5 years now and finding somewhere to work on your projects is a near impossible task in my experience. Space is extremely limited and organization can be frustrating, but I haven't found another place like this. There are tons of machines; but it's a DIY shop, so the member needs to be familiar with the equipment they are using. If you choose the membership route, I would recommend budgeting time (at least 30 minutes) to cleaning up before/ after your project. Bill (owner) is an excellent resource and always makes time to answer questions, even when he is not at the shop. I highly recommend taking one of his welding classes, or becoming a member and finishing that project your SO has been bugging you about!
