I was having my car serviced at Mercedes Benz of Austin, and this place is about 50 steps south of the MBofA location on Airport Blvd. It was my first time to visit and I chose the place based on the recommendation of the service advisor & it's location. I had the hummus appetizer and daily lunch special that was a gyro, side & drink. The food was very good, I found the staff (I am guessing it was the owner & family) very nice. I will go again. We found this place by accident when our original lunch destination happened to be closed. We were greeted immediately as we entered. I was confused how it worked, but the server behind the counter was more than happy to explain how the lunch special worked. I've been to restaurants where the servers are more annoyed than anything when you ask questions, but this wasn't the case here. For about $8 a plate, I got a Greek salad (which was very fresh) with a tangy yogurt-cucumber dressing, baba ganoush, dolmas, grilled veggies, a side of beef, pita bread, and a drink. Everything tasted fresh and wonderful, and the beef was amazing. My son had a kids' gyro plate, which came with seasoned fries. The baklava was also good. i'll be honest - i ate at this place when i was totally not in the mood for turkish mediterranean. had i been, there's a strong possibility there'd be another star tacked on. there was nothing inherently bad or below average about the experience. the prices were average, the service was attentive and very polite, the waiter and host were very kind, polite, and easygoing, and the portions were humongous. most importantly the food tasted good. everyone in our party of 10 was happy. it just so happened i didn't come away entirely excited about the place. next time we come back i'm going to do this: order a schawarma as an appetizer and then share a kebab plate. read more

Don't judge this place by how it looks outside! It is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant with amazingly sweet staff! My boyfriend picked this place out of whim and it is definitely a place we will come back to for their delicious dishes and kind services. They have areas where you can sit on a rug on the floor with pillows (really gives a cozy feel to it) and eat on assorted round tables. It was a different experience that got me and my friends hyped! The food was great!.. Warm and pig in size. Their hummus was on point and the pita breads were fluffy and straight out of the oven! Everything was perfect, except the fact that they seemed a little low staffed. They had only two servers for a big restaurant so the service was a little slow, but their attitudes really made up for the most part. Very recommended! read more

Great food at very reasonable prices; $4 for a falafel pita, 99cent green tea with free refills. Great atmosphere with cool seating areas where you take your shoes off, sit on the floor on comfortable pillows and eat at low tables. This place has never disappointed me. The service is incredible, each server and employee is nice and courteous they are even funny at times! It seems like they love their job and are happy to serve you. That is what brings me back to this place. I haven't tried the pizza but the Greek/Mediterranean food is delicious! you can totally get away with ordering lunch meals for dinner and even getting it at a lunch kinda price. For example a falafel wrap is only 4.99. The fries do need some work though, i'm not gonna lie. the taste of the oil is overpowering so i try not to order that but everything else has been great so far. read more

It has to be tried to understand just how good it is. Great restaurant for those that celebrate Lent and also vegetarians. The grilled fish is delicious. Ordering off of the menu is also wonderful. Love the atmosphere. There is a floor seating area with overstuffed pillows and low tables. Please remember to remove your shoes. I love the waiters and all of the guys that work there. We got our first experience at Mediterranean food in Austin, which seems to be a very rare find. We arrived at 3p, which is an excellent time if you want to avoid crowds, but seems to be a time when the waiter would rather sleep than serve customers. There was a total of four customers inside and we were two of them, so the waiters lack of service was unexplainable. We ordered a combo plate to taste the varieties that they might have and a beef shawerma plate. The most amusing moment was when the waiter arrived with a chicken shawerma plate, instead of beef. We politely reminded him that beef was ordered and he said " you will like the chicken better." ARE YOU SERIOUS???? He was soooo rude & refused to replace the chicken with beef! My foodie companion understands what the results in a food establishment might be if you refused something that you didn't order and she reluctantly ate the chicken. On a scale of 1-5 the chicken was a 2.5 at best. It was slightly dry and not as flavorful as most chicken shawerma. The dressing on the salad was visible but undetectable in flavor, which was odd. As a person that can actually make dolma, the ones that were served to us tasted like they came out of can and not very fresh. The baba ghanouj was by far one of the dullest I have ever encountered and completely lacked the unusual seasonings and smokey flavor of a good baba ghanouj The hummus & rice were very good. The place appeared to be clean and ambience was interesting with the music and layout. However, we did not come to look at a place, we came to eat. Between the poor service, being told to eat food that was not order and refusing to serve what we order coupled with mediocre Mediterranean food, it's highly unlikely that we would ever return for a repeat of that bad experience. If you have never had Greek or Mediterranean food before, this might be a good place to start as it is reasonable priced for dull food & bad service. read more

I ordered their Felafel with some mods to make it more of an Amsterdam style. The Felafel is decently crunchy but could be more so. The Tzaziki had a subtle cucumber flavor. We also ordered the Meze Plate: The Baba Ganouj had nice olive oil, not too much garlic, and a great eggplant flavor. The hummus was too bland. I may be back for the Falafel, but more likely for that I'll go to Maoz. read more

I have loved Arpeggio grill for a long time. We often just order a pound of gyro meat to go with their delicious tsatziki sauce, but everything I've had there is delicious. Recently we wanted to order pizza for my kid's birthday party. They have these GIANT pizzas that are fun. I called about 2 hours ahead and asked them if they would be willing to deliver them to the park. They were, and the delivery guy came and found us at the park and brought our pizzas out hot and fresh. He was so kind and very happy to deliver the feast for our picnic party. A neighbor recommended this place, and it's in our 'hood, so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. The interior is amazingly elaborately decorated, with a beautiful mural of a Mediterranean countryside, so that you feel like you've stepped into another land. I tried the Arpeggio Mesa Platter, a sampler plate of dolmas, baba ghanouj, hummus, shawerma--both beef and chicken, tabouleh, and falafel. It's also served with rice and warmed pita bread. All was delicious. So good that we went back the next evening and ordered the same. The staff are friendly and helpful in the ordering process. We will return, and if we can tear ourselves away from the wonderful sampler platter, we will try out their pizza. read more
