They were on their best behavior and enjoyed pool, pool deck, beach, and room service for dinner. The breakfast each morning in the beautiful restaurant was fantastic. While this is definitely an "adult" hotel and not so geared to children, we made it work--and they behaved with good manners. The service is A-plus. Stunning views everywhere!

I engaged in a colossal waste of time simply trying to change my reservation at this hotel, only to learn its partner "Luxury Escapes" is somehow connected to third-party booking agent Expedia. This is not disclosed on "Luxury Escapes" website. Deceptive? The Albatroz staff throw their hands in the air and claim they cannot help you change a reservation. I decided not to re-book a future stay at this hotel based on this interaction. Beware-- if you book thru "Luxury Escapes" you may actually be dealing with a restrictive third-party agent, and this hotel will not help you unwind that.

Starting with Margarida with reservations, she was very engaging before we even arrived, to include ensuring our special requests were met. Antonio at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming... I swear it seemed like we met a long lost relative! He was accompanied by a female intern, but I forgot her name. She was super nice and gave us a tour of the hotel. The spa staff... again, super friendly and welcoming. Although the hotel is near the wonderful Cascais, IHG Cascais is a wonderful destination itself.

It has an air of sophistication. The views are stunning while you eat breakfast or dine in one of the two restaurants. But what makes this place amazing is the staff. They are very attentive, helpful and lovely. Barbara the receptionist is a gem with her recommendations and her demeanor you really feel like you are being treated like royalty. Everyone who we have encountered are fabulous!! The breakfast chef and crew are vibrant and helpful the food was delicious!! Cascais appears to be extremely windy in May but it is a wonderful place to visit.

Walked from here to two Michelin two starred restaurants, an amazing pizza place, walking tour of the city, the world's best chocolate cake, and so much more. There is really everything right here you would want. Keep in mind it's a classic boutique hotel. That means small and narrow elevators. So sometimes you just have to be a little patient. Come for the friendly service, amazing location, comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, and know that this is a great place to stay in the heart of Lisbon. Highly recommend. The Hotel staff knows when you enter and exit the Hotel. During our stay, we kept our money locked in the safe. Before we checked out, we packed our bags and put our money in our luggage. We then put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and went for a half hour walk. The Hotel staff observed us leave at that time. While we were out, Hotel staff entered our room without permission and stole our money. We know we had the money, because we had just counted it for a tour in Porto the next day. After the theft, the Lisboa Carmo Hotel Management lied to us and tried to cover-up the crime. When I first called the Hotel, the Hotel staff person Louise Silva told me that they had cameras and that I should call back the next day to speak with Hotel management to have the video reviewed to solve the crime. The next day, I spoke with Assistant Hotel Manager Rafael, who told me that the Security Manager could review the video on Monday to see who wrongfully entered our room. However, the next day, the Hotel Manager Richardo Salvador sent me an email refusing to produce the video and threatened to sue me. That was so offensive. It seems clear that Richardo Salvador was lying and covering up the theft. His refusal to produce the video is proof that Hotel staff stole our money. My recommendation is there are lots of good hotels in Lisbon. So, stay away from the Lisboa Carmo Hotel!

TL;DR - Charming hotel in a perfect location…read more We spent a week here. Having never visited Lisbon before we were unsure on where to stay but were delighted with our choice. The hotel's position is in the heart of Alto Barrio, conveniently located for all the main sights. It's right across the square from Carmo Convent, which our room had a fantastic view of. If you want to venture further, it's also just a few streets from an underground stop (Baixa Chiado). Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, all speaking perfect English. The rooms were delightful and spotless and had a fantastic shower. The hotel was quiet when we were there (it was off season) so they gave us a free room upgrade too. Free bottled water and coffee in the rooms, a nice restaurant on site... you can't go wrong!
