This is a luxury high class hotel located in the center of town. Near Rossio train station. Walking distance from center of town and shopping. Elegant old world charm, the entrance is hard to find at at first. I love the included breakfast! Fresh fruits baked goods, juices, and mimosa of course excellent coffee, and excellent service. I felt pampered. It's too bad we were out touring and didn't spend much time in our room but it was gorgeous and spacious. I got a suite bc it was my sister's birthday. Only the best for her. We were on the fourth floor and the view was amazing. I cried. It was so beautiful. My eyes were spoiled. I was hesitant to write this place because it will become popular and the prices will go up up up? It's well worth it. Yolo! We went on an off-season, so the prices were good.

This is my favorite hotel in Lisbon. I have stayed here many times over the last 25 years. It's a true classic. The hotel has been around for generations. A touch of old world charm with modern amenities. The service at Avenida is top of line. The staff has gone above and beyond make assure my visits are memorable. I have stayed in many different rooms and all were luxurious. The dinning room breakfast is not to be missed. A wonderful stay at Avenida Palace is perfect start to enjoy everything Lisbon has to offer.

My husband and I stayed here recently for the second time in 5 years, and enjoyed it very much. Hotel Avenida Palace is elegant, yet comfortable. I love the decor throughout the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, even though this hotel is in a busy part of Lisbon. The breakfast buffet and dining room that it is served in are 5 star. The sitting room with the piano is classy as well. We appreciated the treats delivered to us in the afternoon and evening. The only things I would improve would be to increase the shower temperature, and develop the concierge service (he only recommends one restaurant by name). I would stay here again without hesitation.

    Daily Breakfast Buffet

Great location, unbelievable breakfast buffet. The service was excellent, everyone was helpful, clean room, turn down service. Every day we had a new treat or helpful gift (chocolates, pastry, rain hats, glass of port, and daily complimentary bottled water). Would highly recommend the hotel

    Our hotel! Gorgeous!

5 Star Hotel that deserves a 5+ Star Yelp rating! Felt like a princess in this beautiful 125 year old magnificent palace! The staff were incredible from reception (thank you Malcom for directing us and for your great recommendations for visiting Lisbon)and such a welcoming reception check in staff, to the gracious and ever accommodating grand ballroom breakfast servers! Service and food was over the top delicious with so many choices of delectable freshly made items like poached eggs on toast, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses galore, fresh fruits, every type of pastry imaginable (even the Lisbon/Belém famous Pasties custard cups!), just to name a few items. While you are there be sure to visit the iconic Bar next to lobby with a Mixologist who prides himself on each drink creation to your liking. Ambience in this great room is etched in my memory! Classic decor that takes you back in time! Upon our arrival because we were celebrating a monumental wedding anniversary, the hotel had waiting for us in our beautiful 'standard' superb room, a bottle of sparking wine with delicious chocolate strawberries! Made us feel even more special! Our room was divine with gorgeous drapes that hung down from the ceiling framing a large floor to ceiling double windows that insulated any outside street noise while sleeping. Our window looked out to a view of a castle close by and a Fort that was at the top of a hill that was erected in 1137! Just a little history here! Also beautiful double wood headboards framed our large comfortable king bed with the finest bedding imaginable! Bathroom and shower/tub were a perfect size to relax and soak in comfort from our long days of discovering Lisbon. Great amenities too! Thank you all at the Hotel Avenida Palace for making our last two nights in Lisbon so great and memorable! Great location and central to everything to discover Lisbon!

The connecting room setup worked perfectly for us, plenty of space between the two rooms, and the staff had clearly thought through what families actually need, right down to the football shirts waiting for our kids on arrival. What really stood out was the spa, chromotherapy showers, a jacuzzi, and this bucket contraption that tips warm water on you when you least expect it, sounds odd but the kids were obsessed. Add in a genuinely excellent dinner at the in-house restaurant and a location that puts you right in the middle of old Lisbon, and it's easy to see why this place is so well rated. She was right! Insanely spacious, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast, rooftop deck, restaurant upstairs. Beautiful common area on the mezzanine level to enjoy a coffee and pastry taking a respite during the afternoon between seeing the city. All in all, Bairro Alto was great! Walked from here to two Michelin two starred restaurants, an amazing pizza place, walking tour of the city, the world's best chocolate cake, and so much more. There is really everything right here you would want. Keep in mind it's a classic boutique hotel. That means small and narrow elevators. So sometimes you just have to be a little patient. Come for the friendly service, amazing location, comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, and know that this is a great place to stay in the heart of Lisbon. Highly recommend. Tip: If you are staying over the weekend, get a floor as high as you can and/or have a sound machine if you want to sleep well because the street noise is loud with people out and about on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Hotel staff knows when you enter and exit the Hotel. During our stay, we kept our money locked in the safe. Before we checked out, we packed our bags and put our money in our luggage. We then put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and went for a half hour walk. The Hotel staff observed us leave at that time. While we were out, Hotel staff entered our room without permission and stole our money. We know we had the money, because we had just counted it for a tour in Porto the next day. After the theft, the Lisboa Carmo Hotel Management lied to us and tried to cover-up the crime. When I first called the Hotel, the Hotel staff person Louise Silva told me that they had cameras and that I should call back the next day to speak with Hotel management to have the video reviewed to solve the crime. The next day, I spoke with Assistant Hotel Manager Rafael, who told me that the Security Manager could review the video on Monday to see who wrongfully entered our room. However, the next day, the Hotel Manager Richardo Salvador sent me an email refusing to produce the video and threatened to sue me. That was so offensive. It seems clear that Richardo Salvador was lying and covering up the theft. His refusal to produce the video is proof that Hotel staff stole our money. My recommendation is there are lots of good hotels in Lisbon. So, stay away from the Lisboa Carmo Hotel!
