All of the teachers have been wonderful and truly care about helping the kids improve and build confidence. They give the students lots of attention, encouragement, and individual help, which has made such a big difference in her progress over the years. It's been really rewarding watching her skills and confidence grow, and a big part of that is because of the supportive environment at Gemstone. The studio may be small and a bit cluttered, but what it lacks in appearance, it makes up for with heart. Miss Lida, the owner and teacher, is incredibly caring and passionate, offering various classes like gymnastics, dance, tiny tots and princess classes. The prices are affordable, class sizes are small, and the value is unbeatable. Our charter school covers the gymnastics class, and unlike other studios, Selah Groove doesn't charge hundreds for performances. My daughter has performed at the Del Mar Fair and a local festival, with only a small costume rental fee. We're excited for her next show at Knott's Berry Farm! I feel it's common sense to open the garage gate when you see may people inside.

However, the most troubling experience was financial. I was assured by the owner that the charges for three months (over $300) would be refunded once the Regional Center--whom I was working with--paid for my daughter's sessions. I agreed to pay upfront in good faith, fully expecting the refund once the third party handled the cost. After the Regional Center completed payment, the refund never came. I reached out multiple times over the course of a year, only to receive vague excuses about "budget issues." Eventually, it became clear that the owner had no intention of returning the money. This wasn't a delay--it was a blatant refusal. Holding onto funds that were supposed to be reimbursed feels unethical at best, fraudulent at worst. I cannot in good conscience recommend this gym to any family.

She had a great time over the two days and learned a full routine with tumbling, stunts, and dance all choreographed for the rest of the competition season. We brought my son into Pop Warner football for the first time this 2009 season. He had never been…read moreon an organized sports team of any sort and to say he was 'green' is an understatement. However, the coaching team (Junior Pee Wee level) was outstanding. They were very patient with him, worked with him to improve his skills and made him feel welcome to the team. After a lot of hard work on his and their part, he eventually made it to the starting D-Line and we are very proud of him. The other parents were great! It was a solid team effort all the way around. It was a rewarding and valuable experience and I recommend it for all parents with sons. He grew incredibly in the season's 4 months and we'll be back again next year!
