    Barbie, RIP
    Joanna H.

I would give them more stars if I could. I had to put my sweet senior toy poodle down near closing time today, and the entire staff was absolutely wonderful, kind, non judgmental and ushered us into a room immediately. I am so very thankful they allowed us to come in at closing and put my sweet Barbie to rest as her quality of life deteriorated very quickly at the end. I would absolutely recommend Arrowhead Animal Hospital and am so grateful to them for caring for Barbie and me, as I was very sad, tearful, and not myself, saying good bye to my beloved companion.

A wonderful, respectful, memory of our beloved Colin

I want to thank the Arrowhead Animal Hospital on how they handled the death of our beloved 11 year old golden retriever. We are new to the mountain and Colin died very unexpectedly. We took him to the hospital to be cremated & the two employees that helped us were very nice and gentle as they moved Colin onto their gurney. Picking up Colin's ashes was a very emotional moment and the woman who helped me was very very sweet. There was another woman near her who didn't acknowledge me, didn't greet me, didn't smile. What I picked up blew me away in such a positive way. I thought I was only paying for the cremation but I received a high quality wood box, with Colin's name on it, a certificate, and a print they made of Colin's paw that really touched me in such a profound way.

Goodbye Simba, my dear friend I did all that I could for you. Chase the butterflies on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.

In March 2021 one of my cats was showing signs of a serious illness. Arrowhead Animal Hospital told me they had no appointments. Even when I told them the serious nature they made no attempt to squeeze me in. The receptionist refused to give me even the price of a basic office visit. When I asked what the prices of labs were she refused stating that they were not allowed to "by law". The fee schedule? I called two other vets and got prices without hesitation. They had no immediate appointments. I called Arrowhead back now that my cat needed to be put to sleep only to be told to park our front, they would take my pet carrier, put my cat to sleep, then they would bring him back dead. Absolutely no way to say goodbye to a beloved family member. I called another local vet that got me right in. They reverently escorted me through a through a private entrance and into a room. Soft music was playing with candles burning. When all was completed they escorted me out a private exit. I have had to have a pet put to sleep at Arrowhead and never received such kind service. Their staff took an already emotional situation and made it unnecessarily difficult. After 15 years I will never return to Arrowhead Animal Hospital. I absolutely would never refer them to another pet owner.

Yes, the building is nice, modern and clean but what really makes this place amazing is the staff that work here. I'll forever be grateful for the support and compassion they showed me during one of my hardest moments in life. Rewind: I'm actually not a local and was traveling here from out of town. I was staying in the desert for a few weeks so I brought my dog and cat down with me. In the most stressful of scenarios (traveling and being on vacation) my 13-year old cat fell ill almost immediately after we got into town. After a few days of her seeming not like herself and not eating, I brought her here to the urgent care. A few hundred dollars later and testing it was confirmed that my little one was dying (This wasn't a complete shock as she had been diagnosed with kidney disease a year before with a prognosis of only a few weeks to months to live.) You just never expect to be away from home when something like this happens.... The biggest blessing was that the doctor and techs encouraged me that I could take her home to have a couple more days to process the decision of putting her down/to see if there could be any improvements (even though it wasn't likely.) Having those extra couple days to say goodbye made the process so much more bearable and assured me that I wasn't making a rash decision... when you see your pet declining you know when it's time. I was just really grateful for how the team was so compassionate and flexible with me as I made this decision. While they were all professional, they felt like friends when I needed them most. Bringing my baby back to be euthanized on a holiday weekend was traumatic, but the team handled everything with grace and compassion. They have a special room where you get to say goodbye to your baby and it is very tranquil and lovely overall when dealing with such a tragedy. At the very minimum you would hope for a safe space when enduring something so difficult and they definitely created that....Again the team couldn't have been lovelier. They see these kinds of things every day, but they made me feel like I mattered. The whole process was expensive, but at the end of the day I would do anything for my animals so it just comes with the territory. Looking back, it was worth every penny to make an informed and educated decision and with how well everything was handled from start to finish that I'm so grateful for this team. I hope you find yourself here under less painful circumstances, but I am here to say that this is an amazing urgent care and the staff are A+.

Our Bella was a 15 year old Aussie when we made the decision to euthanize her at home. Dr Nicole communicated with us throughout the day as to her arrival time. She was so extremely kind and supportive. She explained to us how the process works and gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. This was the best possible outcome for an incredibly painful experience. It has been a month since Bella's death and I finally can write this without crying. Dr Nicole really helped us feel that we had made the right decision. Godspeed Bella and thank you so much for all your love over the many years.

Don was incredibly kind and empathetic. He was able to give me quotes and all the information I required. I'm thankful for the auto message function as I had difficulty responding. My husband made the actual call weeks later. Don again, was incredibly empathetic and kind as he walked us through the steps. On that day, Dr.Nicole came over and was amazing. I couldn't have imagined a gentler experience for my babies. She was so patient, gentle and kind. I'm so thankful, I don't think I have the words to describe the gratitude I feel. I was so scared about them having scary anxious feelings when it came time for euthanasia. But after a lot of excitement which Dr.Nicole was gracious about, my babies settled down and sat with us. I am grateful for the conversations we had. We were never rushed, or judged. She was so empathetic. It was such a devastatingly sad, surreal experience. Neal had started to deteriorate so rapidly this year. His sister Sara had started to not be able to hide how ill she felt. I don't think I would have ever been ready to let them go. As I look back at my pictures and videos it's easier to see that they were both ill. It was so easy to look past it when they were here. I'd compare them to the pictures and just add accommodations for their comfort. Because their smiles, the love in their eyes...the tail wags were still there, different, but there. It was so hard to admit it was time. All the anxiety that had been eating away at me for months washed away and was replaced with a bottomless sadness and relief that my babies were no longer suffering. They were two amazing small little dogs who left an unfathomable chasm in my heart. The after care was also above and beyond. I can't recommend them enough. If you are reading this and you think it is time, Serene Passages is the correct choice.

We used Cari for a 2-week board and train for our dog, Chorizo. During the training period,…read morecommunication was limited and we often had to follow up ourselves to get updates. At the same time, we were seeing our dog being posted on Instagram more than we were getting direct updates, even after we asked for them. She pinned Chorizo on her Instagram, in the number one post slot, while we hadn't heard from her in three days and didn't even know he was going on a field trip. This was especially difficult for my wife, who had recently lost her father and was already going through a lot. Being separated from our dog was hard on her. We asked multiple times for updates so we could reassure her, but it never felt like we were getting the same level of feedback other reviewers experienced. The training experience didn't match what we expected. Recall still needs work, and "place" became more confusing. Before, he would go where I pointed. Now he tries multiple spots and flinches (expecting a stim), even after we bought him a cot. We asked Cari to introduce Chorizo to our e-collar (EZ Educator). During the consultation, she mentioned that he would learn recall and other commands to near perfection before the e-collar was introduced, and that vibration would be used before stim. The handoff only showed e-collar stim commands, and vibration was not introduced. His recall without the e-collar still needs work. We never received a clear breakdown of what he was working on during the program and mostly followed his progress through Instagram. After pickup, I had to follow up just to get a list of commands. The handoff felt rushed. He was exhausted, it was a hot day, and she had forgotten a water bowl, so a lot of the time was spent just letting him drink water. There was no follow-up afterward to see how he was doing. A few hours after getting him back that Friday, we took him to a groomer who pointed out a cracked toenail down to the quick and irritation on his neck from his e-collar. The groomer said the irritation looked like burns from an e-collar that hadn't been rotated and advised us to monitor his paw to make sure it didn't get worse. We took it easy and avoided taking him out while he healed, but by Tuesday his paw started bleeding. We notified Cari and let her know we would be taking him to the vet after my scheduled surgery. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands that Wednesday, and I took him to the vet while recovering on Thursday. He developed an infection and a fever that required sedation, nail removal, and stitches. This whole experience is not what we expected after reading her Yelp reviews. Even trying to work things out with Cari regarding the vet bills, after we negotiated the cost down with the vet and insurance covered a significant portion, was disappointing. We weren't asking for everything, just something fair. The procedure cost about $900 if the dog is sedated. We asked her to participate $350-$380. She offered $100. When I told her that Chorizo was at the vet because his paw was bleeding, her response was, "Ok thank you for the update." We weren't able to reach an agreement and were told, by Cari, that small claims court would be the best way to resolve it, which is what we are now pursuing. Regarding our training equipment, we also had to follow up on two leashes and e-collar prongs that weren't returned after the program. She told my wife she broke the retractable leash and would send a replacement right away, but a week and a half later we still haven't received confirmation that it's been sent. (Edit: retractable leash and prongs received 3/31 via Amazon Prime.)

When we got Cash back, he was like a completely different dog. The transformation was amazing. Everywhere we go now, people compliment how well-behaved he is, and we always make sure to give credit to Cari and the incredible work she did with him. Also, a huge shoutout to her husband! I know he was a little intimidated by our big fur baby at first, but he still showed up with patience, care that meant a lot to us. We're beyond grateful for everything they did for Cash. Most importantly, we're so happy to have him as part of our family now with confidence and peace of mind. If you're considering training for your dog, I highly recommend Cari.
