    Parker, a tad younger.

The morning I knew my 16 yr old Sheltie was passing so we called Serene Passages. I got to lay with him and hear his heart for 2 more hours. Then Dr Scott came. I am beyond grateful that they give him a sleeping shot before he passed. I would definitely recommend them, they're kind, professional and know how the owners feel during a tough time.

Our sweet Gigi girl crossed the rainbow bridge today. Serene Passages exceeded our expectations. We have never done home euthanasia and didn't know much about it. all we knew is we wanted our sweet German shepherd to be able to cross over the bridge at home. They guided us through the whole process and were so kind. Our girl was relaxed and well cared for. The whole experience was perfect and we are so incredibly thankful we found Serene Passages to help us make this difficult day more peaceful.

God Bless you all at Serene Passages. Thank you for the comfort and compassion. Although we will not need your services again, I highly recommend you to all.

    Brochure with information

It was the hardest decision ever, but I had to humanely euthanize my lovely dog this week and chose Serene Passages. -The booking process was simple yet thorough (they did need a letter from my vet signing off because my dog was so young, but otherwise I think you can just book it assuming your dog is old, or show proof they're terminally ill). -I called on a Monday and was able to get an appointment the next day. I was given a window of time the doctor would show up to my home, and updated several times on accurate arrival times once he was on his way. -The doctor was kind and compassionate. He let us sit with our girl and cry it out for as long as we needed before we were ready. He explained what would happen and walked us through every step as it happened. He was very delicate to hide the parts that were harder to watch, like the injections or any natural expression that happened post mortem. He let us know when she was finally at rest and sat with us while we grieved, waiting for me to give the sign that he could leave. -They had lots of options for cremation, urns, paw prints you can have made, etc. I did not use these services as we had a private alternative plan. -I paid $515 and they promptly provided me an itemized receipt to submit to insurance.

No animal lover wants to make the decision to put their beloved pet to sleep. It is one of the most difficult decisions you'll make in your life. When we heard home euthanasia was an option, we knew it was perfect for our 14 year old pup Tye, who was in end stage anal gland cancer. We like everyone, had hoped he would just pass in his sleep. I called three different euthanasia places one was unable to fit us in and referred us to Serene Passages. Which, in the end was the perfect fit for our family. One company wanted almost $1300k we're willing to spend that for our pup but it seemed so excessive. Serene passages charged $820. That was for Dr. Scott to come visit our home, administer medications, transport Tye and for his private cremation. This also included receiving Tye's ashes back in a spreading tube, a paw print, and a clipping of his fur. Dr. Scott was the sweetest human we've met. His warmth, and compassion, was felt by all of us present with Tye. Dr. Scott was so thorough, and made sure all family questions, and needs were met. He was soft, and loving, with Tye, as he helped us to ease his pain and prevent further suffering. As someone who worked in health care I've always said hospice nurses are angels on earth. We'll add the team at Serene Passages to that list too. The entire team was incredible as they walked with us on this journey. Letting us cry, letting us hug, and love, on our pup. Dr. Scott we love you and appreciate you! Thank you for your care, compassion, and gentleness, with our family on this difficult day, you're an angel!

    Blitz enjoyed the outdoors!

Even as hard as it was to let Blitz go it was time. The unfortunate experience of letting him go was put at ease from the staff and Dr Scott! I would highly recommend this service if you need it. It hurts but the process eased our anxiety and the respect shown to us and Blitz even after passing is greatly appreciated!

    Bentley in the sun

We had to make the hard decision to let our little boy, Bentley, go after a serious acute back condition left him unable to walk and in pain. We did not want to take him into the vet's office, because we knew that would just add to his fear and anxiety. Our regular vet recommended Serene Passages as an at-home alternative. From the moment we contacted them they were compassionate, professional and responsive. Don got us an appointment for the next day and kept us up to date on the schedule. Dr. Scott arrived precisely on time and was very kind and gentle from the moment he arrived. He explained exactly how the process would proceed. He accomodated all of our requests, so that we could sit in the sun in Bentley's favorite spot in the backyard while we sent him on his way peacefully. Serene Passages made a very difficult and emotional day just a bit easier. We'll be forever grateful for their care. -Tom and Mark

Jan 28th 2025: We had to put our American Bulldog to rest. She was 15 years old and it was time as her health rapidly declined. The team at Serene Passages did an outstanding job of making a sad emotional and difficult situation as easy as possible. Nicole was the Veterinary Dr. who assisted our beloved dog in making a peaceful transition to rest. Nicole clearly cares and took a lot of time to get to know our dog Zylie before the process began. She reassured us that we were making the right decision by evaluating her age and condition and it was indeed time for her to rest. I can't give enough thanks to the team and especially Nicole, as can be imagined my wife and I were very distraught. Zylie made a very peaceful transition and went out with dignity and love. I don't know how Nicole does it but she has a God given super human gift to be able to put genuine care and love into each one of her patients. Thank you Team at Serene Passages for your service, support and professionalism during this difficult time.

Serene Passages made a very emotional and difficult day for our family as easy and painless as possible. They were empathetic through all steps of the process, from the scheduling to our final goodbye. Dr Malone was excellent. She talked us through every step of the process, gave us space and time to grieve, and allowed our 15 year old pup George to go out with the comfort and dignity he deserved. I was nervous at first going through this process at home, but I'll never do it different in the future. I know that allowing George to say goodbye, on his favorite bed, with his blanket and toys, surrounded by the humans that loved him, in his home, made his passing as peaceful and pain free for him as it could be. Thank you Serene Passages!

Anything can happen at anytime, and I'm so grateful to have found this service that was ready for the unexpected. I gave them a call about an hour after my boy passed, and they arrived approximately an hour and a half later at around 2AM. For those who find themselves in the unfortunate circumstance of losing their fur baby unexpectedly, the last thing you want is to have to wait 12+ hours with their body, waiting for a place to open. Turn around time was a little over two weeks, my boy was hand delivered to me along with other items in his memory. Wonderful and compassionate service throughout the entire process. Could not look cheaper or tackier. They used a label maker to put our dog's name on the frame. We also asked, specifically for our dogs fur, she was a black and tan Doberman and, well, again, the pictures speak for themselves. We wrote on the form, when they picked her up to make sure that they gave us both black and tan fur. She had a lot of tan fur in her paws that we should have clipped ourselves in retrospect. We got a tiny amount of black fur (it doesn't even look like hers). We had our last cat cremated at her vet and they did a much better job with the paw print and glass vial (filled with her fur). What's done is done. Also, it should be "forever in our hearts" with a "s" because "our" is plural. Just sloppy and cheap.

We were deciding on the place option for euthanasia - while at-home was our first choice, the literal thousands of dollars in costs is for us close to highway robbery and we could not justify it. Paws and Claws gave us a reasonably priced option to take our Shiba to a calm, quiet location - the suite next door to their aquamation storefront - and gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes (while the at home euthanasia fees for services always seemed to mention how they would charge you extra for going beyond 15-30 minutes, leaving a bad taste in my mouth). I still feel there are some pets who will truly benefit from the in-home option, but given that our Shiba was gloriously independent and didn't give two hoots about most things in life, the in-suite option gave us the privacy and time we needed and the assurance that our pup's body would be compassionately moved right next door for aquamation. Brian and Deanna were great in helping us coordinate everything and Dr. Mark is a terrific vet. Hopefully it's a long way from today, but when we need this service again, Paws and Claws will be the first place I call.

Many places were closed, or very expensive, it was a Sunday. So those I did reach were not in my area. When I called this place I was crying. I am not sure Johnathon was even able to understand me. He was so kind, gave me time to collect myself and explain what was going on. Again it was a Sunday, later in the day and he was going to be going home soon. I live about 45 min. from his ofc. He gave me choices on what I could do if I couldn't get her to him that night. My husband and I decided we wanted to get Bella there asap and my husband didn't want me driving because I was so upset. One of the options he gave me was I could bring her to him at that time and he would wait for us to arrive. Again this was on a Sunday, around 4pm and we live about 45 minutes away. I am so grateful for how kind, caring and understanding the owner was with me that day. He waited, and about 45 minutes later we arrived. I filled out some paperwork, picked my sweet girl Bella's Urn. From the moment i arrived there he took care of my sweet girl. Again i was in tears, the owner listened to me as i cried telling him how hard it was to say good bye to her. He listened to me as i told the story of how my mom picked her out for me almost 17yrs ago. He listened to me as i explained how almost 2 yrs i lost my mom and saying goodbye to my sweet girl was hard especially since my mom picked Bella out from the litter. Never once did he make me feel rushed. He just listened with a kind caring heart. I am truly grateful for his kind heart that day. Thank you to the owner for everything. Most people are probably wondering the cost. All i can say is the price here was much less than any of the other places i called that day that actually answered there phone. When i say much less, i mean much less. He explained it could take up to 3 weeks i believe is what he said It took less than 2 wks to get a call letting me know I could pick up Bella ashes. They called me to let me know i could come down and pick her up but we were out of state. I wasn't expecting too get a call till after we returned. That call came halfway threw our trip. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I will be referring friends and family. Today i called to see when i could come by to pick up my sweet Bella. I spoke with Shannon. She was also very kind. She listened to me as talked about my precious Bella. What an amazing, kind, caring, compassionate grp of people in this ofc. I am so grateful for all the kindness they have showed me since that day i brought my precious girl to them. Thank you all for the kindness you showed me when I was so upset. Thank you for the kind words, you will never know how much it meant to me that day. She explained how we could watch as little or as much of the cremation process as we wished. She also explained the "Private Viewing" and what the entire package would cost and entail. The morning Ronni departed our life, we brought her to Only Cremations and they kept her for us until the viewing, which was a couple days later. The day of the viewing, we were already an emotional mess, but Brittany was there right away to show us the presentation of Ronni in the viewing room. She was beautiful and had a blanket laid over the lower half of her body. Ronni looked like she was peacefully sleeping. There was ambient lighting and somber, relaxing music playing, a vase of flowers nearby, a sofa, and of course a box of tissues for our use. We were given up to two hours to spend with Ronni in the private viewing room for us to say our last goodbyes. We felt grateful to see her beautiful face one last time. During this time, Aldair came in and took her clay paw prints and we also had some ink paw prints done. He did a great job capturing the definition of her paw prints. Both Brittany and Aldair made this time more supportable with their patience and compassion and the gentleness they had with our baby girl. When it was time for the cremation, we had to leave the viewing room and go to another room, as our 86 pound Ronni needed a larger cremator chamber. We were able to sit in this room and watch through a window as Aldair placed her into the compartment. We had previously viewed the entire cremation process with another pet of ours and wished to ensure we received only their cremains, with little chance of a mixture or unknown other pet being switched out. Sounds a little paranoid, but we've heard stories, and this way gave us peace of mind knowing we were definitely receiving Ronnie's cremains. After the cremation process, approximately 90 minutes later, Aldair carefully and thoughtfully prepared the cremains for us to be able to take our Ronni home with us in a nice wooden urn provided as part of the package. Brittany presented us with a fabric bag with the urn inside, along with the clay and ink paw prints, a certificate note of sorts, and a packet of flower seeds. We are so thankful for this experience your establishment provided. Some of the "mom and pop" stand alone facilities have been bought out by big chain corporations, and they do not provide this same service as you have given to us. It's almost as if they have something to hide or don't want you to see. You've provided us with the best farewell we could give Ronni and are so appreciative Dr. George Katcherian founded and created this location for us to give a compassionate goodbye to our loving pets.
