Even on a holiday weekend, the closest neighbor was on the other side of the lake. There was a bathhouse 1road over and a boat ramp that we will utilize the next time we visit. Highly recommend this camp site. They offer kayak, boat, and jet ski rentals as well.

We got about six and a half miles of hiking from the parking area to the view (3.25 miles). Had our picnic, then headed back. The last half a mile was pretty steep, but the views are worth it. Lots of picnic spots as well as a super clean bathroom at the top. If you don't want to hike to the top, you can get to the visit by car, so super family friendly (multi generational). We only did one trail route, but there are so many loops to keep it interesting. The trail we did was up and down too so a good variety of climbing and downhill.

There are a lot of long termers and while I have been to places this was a negative, it is not the case here. They were friendly and campers were kept up. My only wish was the pool opened earlier in the day, especially on days that it was 90 degrees before 10am. I took my daughter and her friend here in my 32ft class C and had no problem at all maneuvering. Has full hook-ups with no issues. Each site had it's own trash and fire pit. Kids enjoyed slushies, a few pool games and lots of swimming. There are some video games as well as a juke box but the juke box was out of order when we were there. As a warning, bring cash or check. No credit cards accepted. The rates are reasonable. They have a calendar of events and I happen to stay the one weekend nothing was scheduled. They have an Easter Egg hunt every year that my kids have enjoyed in the past and still talk about it. It's a great place to relax and make some memories.

Employees should wear one to protect customers. You are protecting yourselves from customers but are not protecting the very people that gave you the much needed revenue, just a little detail. Very nice gravel but my site was not level and I am talking about one side lower than the other, not front and back but I was able to fix that. Didn't have a problem with noise, the road does not have heavy traffic anyway. Overall well organized with mowing lawn and dumpster. We had an entrance to a walking trail right at our site - great to take the dog for a walk and frolic in the river. The bathhouse is VERY clean and the showers on the women's side have a seat in the shower and an adjustable shower head. The dump station is clean and easy to get to. We did not take part in a lot of the activities, but we saw several things sure to entertain kids and adults. And there is a dog park with lots of fun for Fido. If you need a place to stay in the Asheboro area, Zooland Family Campground is the place! (About a 15 minute ride from the zoo).

Our homebase closed temporarily and they worked with us to extend our stay until our place reopened. The sites are mostly wooded, with additional open air sites. They have drive thru sites too. The sites are a good size and very well maintained from the site itself to the hookups. They have walking trails, a playground and a pool. You will also have a laundry facility (very clean!!!) and a bath house (those are very clean as well). It also looks like they are expanding - adding more open sites and another bath house/laundry facility. It's so peaceful here! Parents can feel safe letting the kids ride/walk around. There are signs stating that children have the right of way.

Full hookups so you're not roughing it here, they also have a swimming pool for the warmer months. Pros: roomy spots, so you're not right next to strangers. They definitely keep the area clean, everyone has their own rubbish receptacle, very quiet, well designed, beautiful scenery in the woods and the layout is country cute! Cons: water pressure is a little low, and the laundrette is a little rough, the machines are dirty and overpriced ($1.75 for wash, but $3.50 to dry) with 2 out of order. Would not hesitate to stay again.

The campground itself it very nice and maintained, there could be more amenities for kids to have something to do, since there isn't alot of local attractions nearby to entertain small kids or teenagers. Honestly, never met a better staff and I have stayed in alot of different campgrounds due to traveling for work. Again, just more activities and things for kids like mini golf, splash pads, or anything family oriented really would be the only thing to top off such a wonderful place to stay.

We received a comprehensiveness orientation to the Park.....he then lead us to our huge spacious treed site with a large concrete patio. He assisted us in backing into the proper position....he made sure we knew where the services on our site. Very quiet park....twice weekly onsite trash pick up....felt very secure......comes with cable and lots of over the air T V. Electricity is extra....propane refill in the park at a reasonable price. We stayed for a month....very resonable. We were here for a surgery at Duke Medical Center which is about a half hour drive. Several historical points of interest close by....theater....botanical gardens....lots of college sports and attractions. No on site Laundry....however several laundromats in the near by town....several grocery stores and restaurants of a nice variety and shopping within a 20min. Drive..... And the Staff handout goodies to the Dogs.....the Dogs love the Friendly Staff too.
