Our campsite was quite large, had great shade and stone-lined. We didn't need to get our awning out.

We enjoyed this campground immensely for what it was and what you pay. This was the first time we took our pop-up camper out on an excursion and didn't want to go too far from home, but we wanted it to still feel like camping. It's a cute, peaceful place with very friendly and helpful staff that is family owned. When we called to reserve a spot, Alesha suggested the perfect campsite for us since we have two small children and no bathroom in our camper. We were right beside the main bathhouse and small park. Perfect. The pool is older, but you can tell it's been repainted and maintained more these last few years. It was always clean and goes from 3-5ft on one half and all the way to 10 ft on the other half, with a buoy in between. No lifeguard on duty, which is fine. They close the pool up if there are any signs of a storm in the area. There are some nice pool chairs for guests to use. There are two ladders for access into the pool. No stairs. The newer bathhouses by the pool are especially nice and more private. All the restrooms we used were always clean and in working order. We stayed Wed-Sunday and many families that come for the weekend only bring boats to stay on the lake. There is a trail that leads from the campground to the dock, which is convenient. Although we didn't use them, they do have kayak rentals available. There is also a nice little pond with fishing for guests and a fountain they turn on the weekends to add to the ambiance. There is also a free pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings Memorial day through Labor day. This is a nice low-key campground with basic amenities. We've been to campgrounds with more, but for the price, we will definitely be back.

Our homebase closed temporarily and they worked with us to extend our stay until our place reopened. The sites are mostly wooded, with additional open air sites. They have drive thru sites too. The sites are a good size and very well maintained from the site itself to the hookups. They have walking trails, a playground and a pool. You will also have a laundry facility (very clean!!!) and a bath house (those are very clean as well). It also looks like they are expanding - adding more open sites and another bath house/laundry facility. It's so peaceful here! Parents can feel safe letting the kids ride/walk around. There are signs stating that children have the right of way.

Full hookups so you're not roughing it here, they also have a swimming pool for the warmer months. Pros: roomy spots, so you're not right next to strangers. They definitely keep the area clean, everyone has their own rubbish receptacle, very quiet, well designed, beautiful scenery in the woods and the layout is country cute! Cons: water pressure is a little low, and the laundrette is a little rough, the machines are dirty and overpriced ($1.75 for wash, but $3.50 to dry) with 2 out of order. Would not hesitate to stay again.

There are a lot of long termers and while I have been to places this was a negative, it is not the case here. They were friendly and campers were kept up. My only wish was the pool opened earlier in the day, especially on days that it was 90 degrees before 10am. I took my daughter and her friend here in my 32ft class C and had no problem at all maneuvering. Has full hook-ups with no issues. Each site had it's own trash and fire pit. Kids enjoyed slushies, a few pool games and lots of swimming. There are some video games as well as a juke box but the juke box was out of order when we were there. As a warning, bring cash or check. No credit cards accepted. The rates are reasonable. They have a calendar of events and I happen to stay the one weekend nothing was scheduled. They have an Easter Egg hunt every year that my kids have enjoyed in the past and still talk about it. It's a great place to relax and make some memories.

Afterwards later that day she seemed more sociable and as days went by.. she was of a great help. A lot of live in people here. Spaces are nice and spacious. Shady as well. Contractors, residents and even a few military folks that must be commuting from the nearby military base (one guy has a high end Class A and a Tesla). I had a pleasant stay, finding it nice for doing some remote work from the table in my Class C. The park has a few kids but they don't make much noise. The folks coming and going were quiet enough. It's likely because the manager (owner?) lives on site and can keep an eye/ear on things. It's far enough from civilization that it was placid, with a large lake that has the occasional boater (mostly rowboats and canoes) and pole fisher. I had a few walks around the park to get some exercise and it's nice. Keep an eye out for the occasional dog owner that doesn't pick up. The bathhouse was very nice with plenty of good hot water. Showers were in stalls with curtains, much like something you'd see in your local fitness center or YMCA. There is a laundry with washer and dryer for $1 each load. Some kind soul had left detergent on the shelf, so thanks for that! Perfectly okay here and no one disturbed my stuff. The electric and water hookup at my pad worked perfectly fine. The black water dump on the way out was also good enough and that's where the trash dumpster was located. Standard stuff if you don't mind storing black water for a couple of days and dumping it on the way out. The water from the tap at my site was clean - TDS rating as low as that from my kitchen sink back in Charlotte. No problems there. It wasn't a huge site but it fit my RV just fine and had a little bit of shade. Only two complaints. First, I was never able to connect to the wifi despite the printed password in the welcome guide. There are signals but my laptop and phone just wouldn't connect. I didn't ask for assistance, so that's on me. Second, the park is quite sandy in most areas. This means that you need to be careful not to track it back into your RV. I bought an indoor/outdoor rug and that helped some. The park is at the end of a mile long sand track. I had no problem negotiating it at the posted 15 mph limit. I don't see the big deal. Yes, the office is a little cluttered but so what? I didn't spend any time there other than during my check in and when I returned to pick up a bathhouse key. There is a Walmart and other shopping/eats in Raeford, about 15-20 minutes away. Pricing was good as they are members of the Passport America program so I enjoyed a discount on the first couple of nights. https://www.yelp.com/biz/passport-america-crestview?hrid=2kEfX4czrwNvR07gbmlaqw I had a good stay and would choose this place again if I'm in the area. I'm not sure we would ever go back. First off, even though the bathhouse is brand new it's just not maintained. It was filthy about 90% of the time. The campground itself it nice, but some spots are nicer than others. I would say the two best spots in the whole place are #29 and #27. They're both double spots with electric on site. The campground is VERY popular with Jeeper groups aka 'mud boggers'.Not really annoying, just interesting. Badin Lake is nearby but there's no real beach to picnic and hang out. That was my biggest disappointment. I love the mountains, but I have to admit, I'm not sure I'll go back to Uwharrie. I'll head West to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah before heading back East.

I wanted to go away to a weight loss retreat so I goggled weight loss retreat and clicked on…read moreBookretreats.com where I saw a listing in Albamare NC for a 15 day fasting /detox for about $700. The pictures showed a few bedrooms & a living area in a house in the country. I made contact to confirm if they were open & the owner Freddie Morgan emailed me that the dates that the price listed on the website is for the dates that automatically populate on it, which is Christmas week. He said those same accamodations now (June) are $1700. But, he said, he could put me in a tent for $700 for the 15 days. I acquiesced and agreed to that, even though it felt like a Bait and Switch tactic. I flew from NY to NC and stayed 1 (ONE) night, out of the 14 I had paid for, and then left. It was very uncomfortable in the tent, the tent had wasps, the bathroom was inside a kitchen used by campers, on a dirt floor, with a shower curtain for a door, that was not at all private. You could clearly hear the conversations of the people in the kitchen and you could see them through the shower curtain and they can see you, while you're trying to use the bathroom. The tent zipper got stuck repeatedly so that I was stuck inside the tent until I could finally manage to open it. It was extremely hot, and fasting in those conditions is extremely difficult. I reached out to both Freddie Morgan and bookretreats.com to get a refund but Freddie refused. He took my $700 for 1 miserable night sleeping in a tent in his barn. He markets his property as a weight loss retreat, writers retreat, stargazing retreat, airbnb, sleep-in-a-barn, and the Fred T. Morgan Homeplace Hotel. Since he is a jack of all trades and master of none, with no medical certificate, yet running a business that is for people to go almost 15 days without food in nearly 100 degree weather, he should at least be cognizant that the situation -sleeping in a hot wasp filled tent while fasting-will not work for everyone.
