They tasted so fresh and flavorful. I know it sounds crazy, but try it with the spread that is made with crickets that they have on the table. It really added a nice touch to the sampling. I saw the reviews about this place, and I just had to come and see what it's all about. Here they have fruit drinks of every shape and size, and they're all prepared right in front of you. I had tried Mamay last year and I loved it, and lucky for me the Mamay fruit drink is something that they offer here. They prepare it with agua or leche, and I chose the leche option just because I thought that it would taste better. The person who helped me Maria Eugenia makes this place great. She prepared an entire pitcher full of the Maay fruit drink for me, not just the glass. I also ordered a small fruit plate which consisted of papaya, pina, sandia, melón, and plantain. The frutaria is a large space and there are plenty of seating options. It is a really cool place in el centro.

We were told the wait would be 30mins but it was over an hour. At some point the staff member removed our name from the list despite us standing right next to the door and waiting (and asking for updates) the whole time. The host was apologetic about this and tried her best to make up for it with a good table. Eventually we were seated and the menu was great. Really delicious food choices ranging from my Mexican flavors to more basic Western options. Scrambled eggs looked good, the piadina was delicious, as were the chilaquiles! Plenty of fresh juice options and pastries (from Rosetta)!

The fruit was mostly cantelope which is disappointing considering it's Mexico and the options are endless year round. Ingot the large and a small would of suffices had I known it would be so standard. The yogurt and granola portion was equal to that of the small serving on my neighbors table with small size fruit. What's up with that? The rest of the foods were at expected levels. The service staff were like tornados breaking any silence dancing through tight spaces. For the simplicity of.my order it still took almost 20 minutes to get yogurt. It's a fairly international zone and I could see other tables annoyed by how busy they were and unable to see the evilneye of desire coming from their tables. Still everyone was super polite, accepted my student Spanish, and worked to resolve any issues. The service and fruit variety warranted one star removal. The Sopa Aguascalientes was served with the ingredients in a cylinder, to which the server poured the hot broth.
