After going through the first section, we entered the second and were about to continue into the final part when an employee unexpectedly stopped us. I was told I needed to leave because I had "touched the talent." This accusation surprised me -- it simply didn't happen. The area was pitch black, and I held onto my friend's arm to stay together, not reaching for or guiding anyone else. Regardless, we didn't want to cause a scene and decided to leave quietly. I wanted to share this because the situation was confusing and disappointing. We were really looking forward to the full experience and left feeling unfairly treated. DO NOT RECOMMEND

This gallery showcases contemporary art and artists. The works covering the walls are bright, lively and fun. One artist on display was sanctioned to create works for the president. There is a good variety of different media used in the art here -- painting, photography, sculpture and graphic arts are all represented at this gallery.

There's art classes for children and adults as a "Sundays at the Art Center" program. That particular event is fun. And free. Every Sunday, you can go to the center and have free drinks (coffee or a soft drink) and cookies and see whatever exhibit is there that particular week, as well as listen to guest artists talk about their works. There is an exhibit going on here now that I loved! It is called "International Cocktail Collection" and is a series of pastel paintings that incorporate drink glasses (mostly of the martini kind) used in unusual ways.

Principle represents a number of artists and also has opening receptions. They let you peruse around and do not follow or bug you. It is a nice place to go if you are hanging out on King Street. The art is reasonable price and without cheap reproductions.
