Mike has been my artist for at least 15 years and has done 12 of my tattoos. I wouldn't go anywhere else. All I have to do is give him an idea and he'll run with it. Elizabeth was AWESOME. We called for a group of 8 matching tattoos which ended up being 11, and she gladly accepted all of the newcomers. Customer service was top quality at all times, and the tattoos came out beautiful. They were delicate and dainty, exactly how we wanted them to look, and she was receptive to so many small requests that were made -- in the past I've experienced extremely argumentative tattoo artists, and she was the opposite, staying kind and patient the entire time. I had a piece started here last week and I'm very happy with the experience. I've had many tattoos done at various shops around the northeast and Art for Life is comparable with any of the other shops I've visited. Justin made the experience as easy as possible. I was able to get an appointment and have four hours worth of work done on three days notice. This was very impressive because I'm used to waiting much longer to get an appointment. Mike Connors is simply an amazing artist who is as creative as he is talented. I have only reviewed their work second hand. Never had work done but my brother who has roughly $10,000 of art on his body to his name would only go to this place. My brothers and sister have got multiple tattoo's here and would swear by it. The end result is vibrant and brilliant colors. I really needed a cover up. In the process of deciding whether this was the right place for me, I had them fix one tattoo and do two others. I was sold. Cover up process commence! After three sittings, Mike (the owner), has put the most bad ass piece of art over the worst, horrible, embarrassing excuse for art. My arm looks so much better now. Because it was a cover up, he drew on me for about 30-45 min before starting. I did my research and knew that cover ups weren't an exact science, so I was expecting that and was surprised at how fast he worked. Also, I expected to pay a lot more than I did for the work. I was very pleased with the price and the final product. Have been and will be forever recommending them to everyone looking for a tattoo shop. They will be the shop I go to for life. Thanks guys! I got a cover up tattoo from Dennis last week. He was actually the second artist to attempt a cover up of an old tattoo from 60 years ago. It came out real nice. There is no question in my mind that the old one will be gone forever. I would highly recommend this shop. They also have a young 21 year old girl artist in the shop as well. Don't get pierced here. They pierced my septum in the wrong place making it extremely painful to heal. And it was a LONG healing process. They put a piece of jewelry in it that was way too big for my face. It was extremely embarrassing. The ring hung down below my top lip! read more

I can't speak personally to the quality of their work because, unfortunately, their shop was so grossly mismanaged that my appointment was canceled (WITHOUT A PHONE CALL) because they were unable to keep my information on file...and by "on file" i mean in one chaotic Google Docs spreadsheet. They explained this unexpected cancellation, after an hour-long drive to get to Keene, by saying that they were unable to reach my cell phone, yet they never once sent out an email or actually managed to connect with me before erasing me from their books and replacing it with another appointment with another artist. Upon asking for my refund they reacted in an unprofessional, inappropriate, and frankly rude way -- they claimed that I was "lucky" to be getting my deposit back, that I was somehow unable to remember my own phone number and had therefore given them the wrong number, and that it should be my responsibility to drive out of my way to pick up the deposit rather than their responsibility to write a check and send it in the mail as they had promised 3 weeks ago. Although I am still battling with them to get my deposit, money which I thought was only guaranteed to them if they did their job or if I DIDN'T SHOW RATHER THAN THEM NOT SHOWING, I am very happy that I didn't get my tattoo there because the artist was not planning on drawing anything in advance and was instead planning on doing a tracing upon my arrival. Once I get my money back from them, it will a blessing that my tattoo will be done at Secret Lake Tattoos instead. read more
