A top of the line tattoo shop with great customer service and a very friendly staff. Thomas (owner) does absolutely amazing work. He is easy to work with and considerate of whatever your design or idea is. Jessie the piercer is a wealth of knowledge with piercings. I highly suggest scheduling a consult for your tattoo and letting Thomas work his magic. I know for mine (arm sleeve) we sat on the couch and talked for almost an hour about the tattoo and my ideas for it while he listened, asked questions, and drew up designs in front of me. His original design on his sketch pad was amazing to see, but even more so after he refined it, re-drew it, and it became a reality on skin. The shop is obviously loved by its owner and staff. Extremely clean! I've walked into plenty of shops and it just feels like an operating room, but here it feels very comfortable while still remaining a sterile space. I saw a lady at a bakery near me with some really amazing tats. Asked her where she got them and she said Thomas at Red House Irons in Fitchburg. A little while later my wife and I both wanted some new ink (in her case a touch up and augmentation to an existing tat) so we went to see Thomas. Liked him immediately and since we both had seen his work, booked appointments. So today was the day and it was awesome. We are both stoked with our ink, enjoyed the hang and conversation, felt like we met a new good friend and could not recommend Thomas any higher. Let me start by saying the service and personality of the place is great and I love the atmosphere. That being said I was pretty unhappy with what was a very simple and straightforward tattoo. I've had a number of tattoos over the years and they were all very well done and have come to expect a certain level of quality in a tattoo artist. I don't remember the artist's name but his lines weren't straight, he'd shaded outside the lines in multiple places and sadly at the time I only noticed one spot where that was the case and he ended up just shading in that area a bit darker making it look a bit off and uneven slightly. The finer details were a bit uneven and felt like it was something lazily drawn out and colored in. It may have been an off day and like I said he was a standup guy and gave good service as far as personality and professional courtesy goes but if you're going to be tattooing something permanent on someone's body and charge for it, it'd better be perfect. After getting my first piece from Thomas, it was easy to decide to never go anywhere else for my tattoos. He is an amazing artist, and super funny and great to talk to. Shop rates are beyond reasonable for the time and skill put into every single tattoo--and the same can be said for the piercer, Jessie. She's done several of my piercings and each time has been such a lovely experience, and they have beautiful jewelry for sale in the shop as well. Thomas is very rude and doesn't always live up to his fullest potential. His portfolio was nice, but sketched out my tattoo very sloppily and quick. Did not want to make small adjustments. Fitchburg has a few gems to offer, this shop being top of that list for sure. If your looking for a genuine & organic experience for a tattoo or piercing this is the place to go. Ask for Thomas if you're looking for some fresh tattoos-- the whole shop is talented AF but he is an incredible artist and person. Definitely worth checking out, even if you aren't in the market for new body art, they have some amazing merchandise; custom T-shirts, hats, jackets, undies & more plus an eclectic collection of art all over the place. 10/10 my favorite place in Massachusetts read more

I love Red House Irons!!!! The whole crew is just awesome! The owner is my very talented artist of choice, his name is Thomas. He is amazing, flexible, easy to work with, respects all ideas and makes you feel welcomed and brilliant at the same time!! I have two tattoos by Thomas, one is a free hand lotus for a name cover up. This came out amazing!!! It is sexy, fun, bright, and a great cover up!!! Thomas even added in a few extra details so my lotus would work well with my other tattoo which is in close proximity. I then got a traditional style bird on my inner bicep. Thomas nailed it yet again! I submitted a photo above if you want to see for yourself! His shop is cool, new, EXTREMELY CLEAN, respectful, fun, and more than amazing. His prices are so fair too, the most fair I have ever experienced personally after collection 7 tattoos. Also, if you aren't interested in getting a tattoo, he has a piercer and a small collection of awesome gifts that you cant find anywhere. I always stop in even just to say hello, the shop loves to have fun with everyone who comes in! My next appointment is for Friday evening, which is great for my crazy schedule. I loved the art I got, Thomas is a talented artist and a pretty nice guy for the most part, but him and a lot of the staff spent a good amount of time messing with me, and I would've just preferred if the staff were polite and chill. It really crossed the line when one of them made a comment about the artist being sexually involved with my mother. Super inappropriate and unprofessional, it made me very uncomfortable. read more
