So we started using Art Cleaners and they did a pretty good job, although the cash and pay in advance thing was weird. BUT then they "Lost" an expensive pair of black business suit pants that I had custom tailor made. When I asked the owner to check she just said that "her Mexican Guy" said I picked them up. BS! I've lived in Scotts Valley a little over two years now. Since COVID and working full time remote my wardrobe consists of leggings and sweatshirts in the winter and shorts and T-shirt's in the summer, but when I have special occasions, work events or work travel I always come here to get my nice clothes dry cleaned. They do a great job, there is no odor on the clothing and the lady working there is so sweet. Always a smile on her face and she thanks me and bows when I leave. I would give this place zero stars if it were an option. We dropped off my wife's wedding dress for cleaning and boxing. They said it would take 30 days. We went back at 30 days and they said just one more week. And then we did that again. And again. Finally when we went to pick it up three days before moving out of the country, they tried to make us pay a second time, until we showed them the original computer printed receipt which said that we had pre-paid. I wanted to like this place a lot more than I did. Overall they do good work and I like the green goal of the place. However, the price seemed a little steep and although my items were cleaned there was still dog hair on some of my jackets. For the price, I would have expected all that to be gone. When I got there an older woman was in front of me, she was questioning the cost of nine dollars to dry clean her pants. At first, I thought, oh silly old ladies always want something to complain about. I assumed her pants might have been a special material as well because nine dollars for a pair of pants does seem a bit high. This was my thought process until I got my 5 items for almost a hundred dollars. I was still optimistic but once I saw the dog hair on my jackets I was less enthused. I was looking forward to a 'great clean smell' described by some of the other reviewers, and I got nothing. Pretty much everything was cleaner than I left it, and the employees were very friendly and helpful. After having gone other places for about thirty dollars less for the same items I'm not sure I'll go back. If you do go you can count on friendly and helpful employees. Decided to try this place since it was closer to where we lived... should have taken my dress somewhere else... I had a black dress with white trimming that they totally messed up. The trimming is now gray and the dress looks cheap. After realizing this at home, I took the dress back and the woman there said that it wasn't her fault- it was the dress's fault! The tag clearly says dry cleaning only on it so they should have been able to clean it. The lady proceeded to tell me should would try to fix it and call me back when it was done. She never called back and I finally decided to go back to see what was up. When I returned, the dress was still there but nothing had been fixed. The owner told me the same thing, that is was the dress's fault. He was very hesitant to return my money but he finally did, albeit angry. I wouldn't give this place 0 stars only because the lady was nice about trying to fix it and the owner called later that day to apologize and offer a free cleaning of a suit. Nevertheless I will not go back here. Don't really like places that don't know how to do their job. read more

They have always been extremely friendly and more than willing to get an item I bring in done quickly if need be. I sometimes bring in hard to clean items with a high level of detail and I couldn't be happier with their service!! They owner came all the way to my house to take a look at some slipcovers I needed cleaned just to make sure he gave me an accurate quote. That's customer service!! It saddens me to see such poor reviews for this place so I feel compelled to leave one myself. I bring my work shirts and pants here to be cleaned and pressed and they have always done a fine job. Yes, they have written my name in ink on the inside of my shirts at the VERY bottom but it's so tiny and, since I don't wear my shirts inside out, never noticeable to anyone. I've also never had a problem with a funky smell as one of the reviews mentioned below - it always smells crisp and clean like a normal piece of dry-cleaned clothing. I've been taking my clothes to Art Green Earth Cleaners for years, and they do a reasonable job. I gave them one star for lying to me. I usually pay with cash, which I know that they prefer, but this time, I wanted to use my credit card. The female owner took my card and told me that my card was declined. I told her that is not possible and I asked her to run it again. She refused. She stood there and pointed to my wallet, wanting cash. I used that card 10 minutes prior to going to the cleaners...and 15 minutes later at a local store. The card was never declined. I'll likely be writing a letter to the IRS to alert them about this. We have been going here for about 2 years and the couple is very nice, but Im afraid there is a bit of a language barrier. Their English is not good enough to have detailed instructions understood, so if you have specific instructions or questions, it might not get followed/answered. I took a shirt and window valance into Art Green Earth Cleaners. I picked up the items and when I took the plastic off at home I noticed a strong damp musty odor that was so bad that I had to bring the items out to the garage because they were so offensive. I went back to the cleaners and they said they would redo them. When I picked them up the second time the odor was still there. The owner then said it must be my body odor! I told him that I don't WEAR the valance and that I have had the shirt dry cleaned before at his business with no problem. After he wanted me to sign a piece of paper stating that he would not be responsible for trying a different process.At this point I decided to have the items cleaned elsewhere. I politely asked for a refund and was rudely told NO! I went online to research what could be the problem and found out that there could have been bacteria in his processing system. I was a long time customer there and was surprised at his attitude when a problem came along. I will never ever go back to this cleaner. Considering my experience at this cleaner, I feel a one star is most generous. read more
