Apparently they assume you are signing a lifetime contract because even after dropping out, in writing, it is a battle to get them to stop charging for your membership. The recital was not at all tacky, it was very nice, especially for the money charged to put it on. Each dancer received two-three free tickets and any additional tickets were only five dollars. And have you ever tried to teach a 3 YO a 2.5 minute dance? Of course the teacher had to lead the kids on stage. Did this parent expect their child to be ready for the New York City Ballet? I've spent a significant amount of time there and would be extremely surprised if anyone was treated without kindness and respect. I would highly recommend this studio for anyone wanting to take dance or performing arts classes in a professional yet welcoming and nurturing environment.

My 3 year old had fun, but she did not realize that her class was consistently starting late and ending early, their recital, which started 15 minutes late, was so tacky we were embarrassed to have invited our family and friends, and they essentially played follow the leader with their teacher for 2 minutes and 15 seconds. They took measurements and photos during class time that we paid for, which is a conflict of interests at best and a disservice to my child who came ready to dance and ended up sitting by the wall for an hour, only to find that the pictures were of such poor quality that we will how have to take our own time and additional money to have them re-made. When you go into dance with your child, you have to expect that it will be expensive, but this place is a money pit and you definitely do not get what you pay for.

She comes home excited every night to show me the newest thing she learned or how her splits are getting better, or some cool thing she saw an older girl do. I grew up a dancer and had certain expectations of what dance studios are like based off my experience growing up, but this one is it's own thing. So much nicer and more supportive, not too much schedule wise for the younger girls starting out, and from what I can tell so far a little more affordable thank goodness. Miss Nicole has made my daughter fall in LOVE with tap, and she's only 7 learning things I never saw till I was 11 or 12, but somehow always in a fun way where she loves it and isn't overwhelmed. I also take adult tap here and it's such a great way to have something that brings me joy in the middle of the week. The adults are so sweet and fun, and we also have Miss Nicole who keeps it challenging and interesting. Good adult classes are so hard to find at this age I feel like, it was such a pleasant surprise for me when I started last year. The age range is super varied so anyone would feel comfortable for sure. The people here are definitely doing what they love and it shows tremendously. I know there are a lot of dance studios to choose from and it's such a hard choice when your trying to figure out where to land, let me make it easy for you and tell you to try out 5678.

Not only did she not report back, but the girl who made the threat called me. She told me that my daughter was not the student she was aiming the threat at, that she and student it was meant for just had that "kind of relationship", and NEXT TIME she'd be sure it was said where my daughter couldn't hear it. Mind you, my daughter is 10 years old, and came home legitimately scared. Weeks later and I'm still losing sleep thinking about these poor babies being spoken to this way, and wondering if the mom of this other little girl knows how her daughter is being treated. Absolutely unacceptable & absolutely do NOT recommend Alicats!!
