taste of spice private birthday pole party!
    Aleah C.

We had SOOOOO Much fun at our private pole party!! Paradise was our instructor and she was more than amazing! The class was very exciting, sensual and just overall a fun experience. We all loved it. Definitely will be coming back again!

I visited Spice Pole & Aerial Fitness because I have been wanting to try out a pole class. The staff there were very welcoming and walked through the different class options. I signed up for the Lyra and Flex & Flow classes. The Lyra class was beyond my strength and skill set BUT Paradise wouldn't let me use that as an excuse to not attempt the routine. I am glad she did because I was able to recognize some strength gains when she asked us to drop it low and pick it up slow 3 times in a row. Her choreo was tough but sexy and fun. The Flex and Flow was the perfect class to follow up Lyra. It is a stretch class but it is no way easy. Some muscles that have been asleep for years woke up yesterday. There were solo and partner stretching that addressed the whole body. I definitely will be incorporating some of the stretches in my other workouts. Paradise walked around to ensure we were doing the movement correctly or spot us during the backbend portion of class. I enjoyed both classes and Paradise was a great teacher. I plan on coming back soon.

What an amazing experience this was! I attended the aerial…read moresilks beginners class last night with my friend. I signed up online and reserved my spot in the class. It began at 7pm and the class was 1 hour long. The building is a bit hidden from the main road but is off of Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Suwanee. Maggie was absolutely phenomenal. I had to speak to her on the phone because I had some trouble signing up for the class and she helped me so much and was so patient. She greeted us when we came in and made me feel so comfortable. The class had 4 people. There were 2 silks with mats set up in the center of the room. (Maggie mentioned that she recently ordered 2 more mats so she can have 2 more silks set up). The room was pretty big but because there were 4 of us, it was intimate and not as intimidating. Because it's a beginners class, there needs to be a lot of help from Maggie to show and spot, so I can imagine- the smaller the class the better ! We started off warming up with various stretches. I loved how quickly she moved from one stretch to another. It was a really good warm up. Haha. I broke a sweat from that alone. Then, we paired up on the mat and Maggie showed us one move/pose and we'd try. We were able to try a lot of different poses. Overall, it was a GREAT workout from head to toe. The arms, core, glutes, legs. I usually don't get sore until 2 days after working out but I'm already feeling it as I walked out of the class. Very good experience and workout!

What I like is their mind body app that makes viewing and booking effortless. Membership prices are very affordable and great combinations of types of aerial excercise equipments (eg sling) The downside for me is that the first instructor courses were disorganized and not many get to try everything. felt rushed to briefly do every single one. I come in for my 3rd class and still disorganized despite having only 3 students. All in which have different levels. Level 1 sling class even then is too advanced for me. The instructor just dove right in but i think he forgets that when it comes to students like myself, I have never ever activated or used any muscle movement similar to what they are doing. He said to me you're just overthinking it. Yet the movement isn't understood by me. Even watching, I can't connect my many different movements "just" to do a simple flip into the sling and then have the fabric lay on my pelvis bones, balance and flip legs over. I'm sure this isn't the only way to teach...and I'm gonna look for a place that offers more structured and fluid sessions. Maybe start off with workout routines on The sling then just a "just move your body into any shape" or "just tuck your knees in and JUST bend your arms" then "voila". I won't be paying a drop in cost or even a membership just to hang or have such chaotic class. One minute this and that yet no real idea what those moves are even called. I left 20 minutes early as most moves were really too advanced for me. All I can do I stand in the sling. I'll be buying my own sling and watching videos online it's no different because all sky gym offers is this "watch" and "learn". You grab your own support pad.. They might help "lift you" into position but doesn't help understand how to do It yourself.. Also they do not really look at me when teaching but everyone else. Not really included till I speak up. Maybe it's just my instructor. They should look and make eye contact to EVERY STUDENT. not just one.

First, you learn how to hang and then you practice going upside down and twirling. We had a great time, it was fun though a little crowded. The facility is a lot smaller than expected and the class size had about five too many people in it. The instructor was approachable and enjoyable. And her assistants were pleasant as well. The only negative is that the facility was extremely musty smelling and took a while to feel comfortable inhaling. Also, there was a ton of hair (much of which appeared to be pet hair) on the mats. I would recommend this facility to others, $19 for an hour first class is a great deal.

Sky Barre was on my bucket list forever and it was worth the wait! A private party costs $245,…read moreminimum of 7 to book. Drop-ins cost $35 per person for 50 minutes so arrive early. Park free in the small lot or the Publix parking deck across the street. Our instructor CoCo patiently waited for my crew, but the clock was running because of other bookings. The environment is cool and clean with cubbies for personal items/shoes. You enter the mat barefoot or in socks. The website mentions 30-minute-high intensity low impact cardio classes, indoor water rowers, aerial sling yoga to release tension etc. We had a P-Valley themed party, so I knew it was going down! We each picked a Sky Barre nickname and CoCo broke down the routine into steps. I haven't worked out in awhile and I have zero upper body strength, so I was nervous but willing to try. I couldn't do some of the moves but CoCo made modifications. It's not easy. Initially, it felt like the aerial silks were burning into my feet, butt and side. But it's more discomfort than pain and she said you get used to it. An hour wasn't enough time to learn the routine. But you are your own audience so it's more about feeling confident, getting out of your head and having fun! We had a glow party under blacklights, so highlighter colors really pop! The lights were dimmed, the track was played, and we killed our routine. Not! We did it 2x and I still forgot half the moves! The best part is how sexy you feel if you let yourself go. But when I played the video later it was more like the rhythmless nation! At the end we cheered each other on as we freestyle danced in a circle. Water was provided and we said our goodbyes. Sky Barre core + cardio = full body workout. I was sore for few days but it was worth it! Memberships start at $150 (1 hr a week, 12 drop-ins per month). There's a $99 3-week unlimited beginner class promo for newbies. If you can afford it and you're brave enough to try, drop in for a fun, creative workout. I recommend!

Since starting in March, my strength and flexibility have transformed. I can do things now I never thought were possible--moves that felt impossible in class three are part of my warm-up. My posture is stronger, my core is engaged, and I walk through life a little taller. Literally and emotionally. But the magic here isn't just physical--it's in the people. Black Garnet (Tash) and Kitty are absolutely amazing. All of the teachers are real, grounded, funny, and warm. They meet you exactly where you are. There's no pressure to perform or look a certain way--just encouragement to move, to try, to reclaim something for yourself. Yes, it's sometimes hard, but that's okay! The space itself is gorgeous: mirrored walls and soft lighting that are perfect for dance but still feel intimate--not exposed. You feel seen without being put on display. And the pricing? Phenomenal. Your first five classes are just $90--that's not a huge investment, and it's only a few hours of your time to start shifting how you feel in your body. If you're even slightly curious, it's so worth it. TwirlnShape isn't just a dance studio. It's a sanctuary. It's where misfits, moms, and anyone craving movement without judgment go to remember who they are. Take the class. You don't have to be ready. Just show up. You'll leave feeling more like yourself than when you walked in.

There are sexy chair or floor classes, Lyra, relaxing stretch classes, yoga with silks, and beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes in pole. There's absolutely something for everyone to try or master. Explore pole fitness and surprise yourself. Some tips for first timers: - **Don't wear lotion or oils for at least 6 hours before.** (You don't want to be slipping all over the place. I honestly try not to use any all day if I can.) -**No jewelry. Rings, watches or bracelets.** (It scratches up the metal pole and damages it. Plus you don't want to be fiddling with clasps when every one is waiting on you to start OR starting without you. ) - **Skin is in!** It's a good idea to wear short shorts and tank tops under your outside clothes or LESS. (More skin exposure helps with pole contact points.) - **Arrive on time for class or at least 5 minutes early.** (You want to be able to pick your pole. It's important to warm up with your instructor. Plus, you don't want to have to play catch up.) - **Bring a friend.** (It's so much fun I just have to share it. We laugh, get sexy, look great, and learn something new together.) - **Give yourself some grace.** (Pole has so many levels. If you don't get a move the first time, try, try again. I know it sounds like BS, but it's a pole you're doing tricks on. It's not as easy as it looks, but BABY, the muscle you build afterwards is so nice. Plus, at the end of the day, it's always going to be based on what you put into it as well.) - **Bring socks, make sure your phone is charged, and bring water!** (Socks are NEEDED! Your feet will thank you. Some folks graduate or invest in pleasers after they fall in love with pole. Phone charged cause you will learn a routine and want to record it and see your growth. Hydration is obvious. IJS. ) - **Check the studio's website for promotions, especially for new folks.** (I did a holiday package back in 2022 and now I can't stop won't stop.) - **Don't worry about what someone else is doing in your class.** (Pole is about YOUR journey. Of course, you want to keep up, but you don't know someone else's journey. Some folks walk in and will do a trick on their first try that you've been trying to do for months. It is what it is, and we have different strengths in different places. Have fun and if you want to master a trick/move, keep at it.)
