Please avoid. This daycare is horrible. Very low standards, and they treat the kids horribly.

Our daughter attends Summit School. She can't wait for Mondays, she's so excited about learning,…read moreher classmates, teacher and the school's welcoming and supportive environment. The curriculum is unique in the Poconos: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), combined with majority project-based learning, provided in a movement-rich environment, combined with small class sizes, personalized instruction, and a student-run civics and governance model which allows the students to partially participate in the development and enforcement of rules, as a means to teach responsibility and the democratic process. The teachers are wonderful. The administration is caring and devoted. Summit School is everything my wife and I had hoped in a school for our daughter. It's one of the reasons we remain in the area. We're grateful that this grassroots school was created, started and run by members of the local community, and now thrives.

We did not have a science teacher and it was not only one grade per classroom but anywhere from 2-4 grades. Before paying the fee we informed them that I have high levels of anxiety and depression. These things started to increase while I was attending this school. They sent me home for crying and made me leave the classroom while trying to calm down. I barely was able to complete course work. The kids have foul mouths that the teachers hear and then don't address. They don't take things seriously when it comes to feeling excluded or unwelcome. It is not worth the money. You are paying to teach yourself.

She saw what was done and really couldn't do anything to fix it. The trim was incomplete and each side looks different. It will take 4-6 months for my hair to grow out so it can be corrected. As the instructor and stylist were discussing, it was clear that the stylist did not understand what the instructor was showing her. She did not seem ready to be working on clients. I hope the school takes action.

They worked hard to give us a good education and always did their best, even when the resources around them weren't ideal. However, I want future students to be aware of some ongoing issues on the administrative side. There is a significant miscommunication between the business office and students, and the processing of graduation paperwork is extremely slow. Many of us have had to wait 4-6 weeks for our paperwork to be sent to the state, which delays being able to schedule our cosmetology or nail technician licensing exams. It almost feels like the paperwork gets "stuck" somewhere, and no one can give a clear answer on the status. Additionally, the facility itself could be better maintained. There were several times when the bathrooms did not have adequate soap or paper towels. The teachers do what they can, but this is clearly an administration and management issue, not an instructor issue. Overall: great teachers, frustrating administration. I hope they address these problems because the students and educators deserve better.

At the Antoine Dutot School and Museum you will take a journey through time and relive the history…read moreof Delaware Gap. The Museum is housed in the original school along with authentic desks, books, and photos of the children that attended class there. You can set in a desk from the early 1900's to watch the short film about the history of the Delaware Water Gap. The film depicts the town as it looked 100 years ago. It also had a photo of Fred Astaire, which was a local resident. It is hard to believe, looking at the way the town is now, but this area was the second largest resort town in the country in the 19th century. Of all the grand hotels that were once here, only two are standing. Among the artifacts at the museum are dishes, arrow heads, old photos, and many other old interesting things. There are also photos of the town when it was under water. The last time it was under water was in 2006. The Water Gap has been under water a few times during this century and each time the town does rebuild. When I was at the museum, a lady came in and introduced herself to the guide as a teacher that taught in this building years ago. She did not say how many years....but it was a long time ago. Wow...what a treat to actually meet a person who taught in this school house. The first floor is an art gallery. The art on display was from local artist and was priced very reasonable. This Museum is a must see if you are in the area of Delaware Water Gap.
