I remember texting my friend Vlad because I was so excited to use the sauna at the Strongsville Rec. Center. He said that I probably would find Russian men in the sauna which I did, 2 of them (apparently Russians love saunas which is cool...haha). I am writing this review a year later, in Feb. 2025. A day pass cost me about $10, if I can remember correctly. I like that this option exists because I don't have to join as a member to use the gym and sauna. GYM/POOL/SAUNA -- At the upstairs gym, I used the stair master and walking track. I also noticed that they have a weights room downstairs but I didn't use it because I didn't have a lot of time. I then used the sauna and steam room downstairs. I stayed in the sauna for about 10 mins and I stayed in the steam room for about 5 mins. The sauna is very small but manageable. There were 3 men in there when I entered. I appreciate that there is a camera inside incase of any emergencies. The steam room is a bit bigger which felt nice. It feels good to be spaced out between people. TIPS -- I recommend bringing a towel to sit on while you're in the Sauna and Steam room. Bring a water bottle too. Also, bring a padlock and key to lock your bag and clothes in the changing room (locker room). I didn't bring a lock because I didn't realize that I would need one so I carried my wallet with me while I used the gym and sauna. Now that it is winter as I'm writing this review, I want to return to the sauna and steam room. The whole gym and pool/sauna area gets very crowded so I recommend that you arrive early. I can only imagine how much it brightens a child's day to look out their hospital room window to see the inside of the ball park. There was a 2026 Extreme Foods article written about food at Akron Rubberducks ball park. My family and I decided to try a couple. The pictures here show The Italian Sausage Dugout from the Bier Garten. For $22 you get the Italian Sausage Dugout (sausage, peppers, onions, marinara, and mozzarella cheese) and a souvenior cup with pop. I was excited and looking forward to this all day, but it was a let down. It wasn't hot in the inside and the French bread tasted like it came out of the freezer. A couple of my other family members got the TeriAkron bowl from the Pineapple Under the C and won't be getting it again. It wasn't as flavorful as one would expect. We went on a Friday night when they played the Red Sox. We went an hour before opening pitch and the stadium was already absolutely packed. Then, we saw the sign and realized why there were already 20,000+ people here 60 minutes before the game. $2 Miller Lite until 1st pitch and $1 hot dogs all game. What in the world!?!?!?!? The prices here haven't changed much since 1994. Actually this was a special Friday night promotion, but wow what a deal. The only place you'll see beers chugged faster than at Progressive Field is inside of a frat house. I will say the concourses were very tight mostly because thousands of men where chugging beers and not moving. However, once we got to our seats it didn't seem like there was a bad seat in the house. The stadium could use more up escalators to the nose bleed, but it was ok. Tons of fireworks after the game. Easy to walk back home to the Hyatt Regency. Highly recommend a baseball game if you're in Cleveland.

The stadium was built in 1994 making it #9 in the oldest baseball stadiums in the country. It's also the smallest with a capacity of around 34,800. It has the largest video board in the league which is an absolute enormous 59x229 foot rectangle out in left field. The stadium itself is right in downtown Cleveland so it's super easy to walk to, which we did from our hotel. This means, though, that there is very little parking near the stadium so no tailgating culture here. Food at the stadium was typically expensive. The view, even from the top, was good. Very passionate fans. All around good experience and a nice stadium.

Despite a full weekend of games, everything ran very efficiently. Parking and entry were handled smoothly, and the admission price was very reasonable for the quality of the venue and the scale of the event. Compared to similar sports complexes, it felt like a great value.

While I've never had a bad experience at a baseball game, Forefront and the Crushers are among the standouts. The Crushers are a Frontier League team. It's independent, which means many of the players here have either never made it to the MILB, or they did and it didn't work out like they wanted. In other words, they are playing their butts off to make it to the next level. Whether it's baseball, hoops, hockey or football, players at this level tend to warm my heart and feed my appetite for excellent competition. Besides, lower level baseball is just flat-out fun. Though I always root for the home team, it was a little different this time around, as the family of Evansville's starting pitcher was sitting right next to me. His name was Ben, and I found myself cheering for him as well. He was small by MLB standards, and his pitching was a mixed bag. Still, like everyone else on the field, he was living a dream. I was certainly honored to see it. As for Forefront Field, it's small with nary a bad seat in the house. The beer selection is as good as any ballpark, and the hot dogs were divine. The mascot here, Stomper, is a real trooper. The poor dude had to be sweating his rear end off, but he still played along with the crowd. If I lived in these neck of the woods, I'd be a season ticket holder. This is wonderful family entertainment, and the baseball playing is clutch.
